Id love to find out that the story is true. it isnt.
one poster on sherdog started a thread. he gave no link, it was posted nowhere else, no gossip site or sports site.
but message boards like to run with these things and just assume its true. thats why the shitdick that started the thread on sherdog did it. look at this reaction (it was 35 pages long at sherdog).
again Id love nothing more than to find out its true but theres no proof of it whatsoever
Tito's first reaction is to shoot anyway.
definitely he would, in a ring- a controlled setting, after a training camp and preparation. street fights happen under different circumstances
tito got into a street fight with Lee Murray, a much smaller kickboxer with a few mma fights. Lee beat his ass to the ground and matt hughes had to save tito. in the cage, lee murray would have lasted all of 10 seconds on his feet til a takedown. but this wasnt an mma match
in a controlled setting- a ring or cage, the wrestler is getting the boxer down on the ground time in time out. there are a few guys with wrestling skills that this might not apply to- oneill bell, jeremy williams, kermit cintron. but the boxer is being put on his back, thats for sure
on the street, completely different story
don frye getting beat up by a boxing instructor
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7OrDufcwoqg
MMA jus got pwned and he was ready after the first punch he had a chance to counter but he was tryin to grab the agile boxing coach lol i duno who he is but mma champ my ass lolol
it was two old guys going at it. frye is from the old days of ufc/mma. skillwise hes not on par with the guys of 4 or 5 years ago, let alone today. still nice seeing his drunken ass getting knocked down though
and posting this doesnt prove much imo

but its a muay thai fighter unable to cope with pressure from a boxer. truth is we;ve never seen elite boxer vs elite thai fighter to prove anything
What you underestimate is that up close all the time is possibly the worst place to be, considering thai fighters are all about clinching and throwing knees and bows to the body and head. You'd have to be a big puncher, but one who isn't always inside. Someone like a prime Tyson would have a decent shot to beat one, though thai fighters are not usually that big.
I think lifting your knee in close with a boxer is a very risky idea. a pressure fighter with just a bit of pop doesnt have to land very hard to put that thai fighter on his ass. in close a thai fighter doesnt have the defense to deal with that combos and power of a boxers' puncher if the boxer has the right style imo
many boxers would have their legs chopped off from a distance though
a pressure fighter would do just fine. those who play on the outside and job, not at all. but short powerful pressure fighters would be a handful for a thai fighter because their defense for punches isnt at that level, while their leg kicks have been taken out the equation
the unfair thing for the boxer is that his best weapons are obviously his hands. they are far more powerful and faster than a thai boxer. but he has them padded, while the thai fighter has his legs and elbows bare. not an equal set up
The recognize champ at 140 is hatton and floyd beat him
true. what difference does it make if that they fought at 147. SAME THING!!!!!
hey can I have some free dvds
didnt you hear? floyd doesnt have to fight anyone. we already know he beats everyone, so theres no point really. no need for actual competition. just celebrate floyds wonderfulness
weighed in at 147 for the weigh in. Hatton the NON legit welter weighed in at 145......
PLUS HE HAS HAD 4 FIGHTS AT that weight and 1 at 154..
nonsense. have you seen Floyds' skills?
END OF ARGUMENT!!!!!!
to be an alltime great, the burden is on floyd to get that done, if he wants it. all time greats clean out divisions. floyd has alltime great talent, but he hasnt cleaned out a division since 130. you cant spend the prime of your career wasting time on bruselles, mitchell, and fighting guys coming off loses in corely, and judah. a fight with casameyor would have been nice, vivian harris or junior witter would have been better for a resume than gatti or bruselles. fighting a physically prime top 5 welterweight would be better for alltime great status than his choices in the past year. fighting hatton at 140 for the legit 140 pound title instead of 147 would be better than whatever piece of plastic he got for the gatti fight.
these are the choices floyds made. his talent is undeniable, he does have quality wins. but anyone arguing that hes an alltime great is wrong, because hes made business decisions at the cost of in ring accomplishments that an alltime great fighter must have.
its tough for floyd fans, and himself, to accept but its not good enough to argue "he would beat them all aways." unfortunately, you have to prove it, even when your phenominally talented. you never know who proves the be the best challenge, and who actually pushes your talents further in competition. too many of his opponents in his physical prime had no chance whatsoever to provide floyd with any of this
Trainer to Roper: You need to do someroad work, get in some sort of shape
Roper: Oh im in shape, Im round!
hey conklin.....whoot, there it is (as damon wayans grabs his junk)
Remember when no one was bitching about Cotto fighting Oscar like 2 months ago?
I do.
cotto isnt the welterweight champion who hasnt fought a welterweight in a long time
cotto isnt the self proclaimed greatest ever
cotto is just entering his prime, hes just getting going in his welterweight career. they are not at comparable places in their career.
this should be legacy building time for floyd. but somehow dominating his division isnt something hes concerned about. and not surprisingly his fans dont care.
shine shit and call it gold. good enough for floyd mayweather fans.
alot of the casual fans of boxing, the types that would catch every tyson fight including his last one, were just people who wanted to see two guys in a ring trying to take their heads off with punches. thats all it ever was to them
they didnt value boxing skills, technique. they didnt care about skill or technique, or any specifics whatsoever about the sport
all they wanted to see was the closest shit to the roman colesseum as possible. mma fits that bill better than boxing does.
but still, there will be plenty of mma viewers who get tired of seeing two guys rolling around on the ground together, lets apart like two guys in a san fran sisco bath house, and they'll want to come back to boxing and see a great fist fight
but they wont know where to start, where to read about it, which fighters will provide the real excitement. boxing has to fix that problem, more than anything else. I support a federal commission, moreso for that than for any fighters rights/anti promoter reasons.
boxing needs a ceo just like ufc has in dana white, just like the nba has in david stern. sports leagues are corporations now. they need a CEO, and boxing doesnt have one. thats its problem
J M Marquez has not got a good chin like MAB ,Hamed would ko him easily IMO have you forgotten what a murderous puncher Hamed was at Featherweight to make the assumption that Hamed would be beaten by J M Marqueaz
as you can see MAB is 1 of my favourite fighters of all time and he beat Naz fair and square and he did expose his style but not his credentials as a top fighter that is just bullshit that he could'nt hang with top Featherweights
1 his trainer seemed to think otherwise and openly admits they ducked marquez. he was too good a boxer, too technically, it would have been a boring shutout win for jmm
2 it isnt bullshit that hamed couldnt hang with the best featherweights. the first time he fought an elite featherweight, he was dominated, and for all intents and purposes, left the game afterwards. you dont get any benefit of the doubt after that. the only thing we can go on is that he lost to the only elite fighter he faced.
so Floyd shouldnt have to fight anyone. its enough to just say Id beat them anyway. thats great. thats how you want sport to operate.
everyone should just have training camps. send the video to the judges and we come up with champions that way.
aww poor you, floyd
when you call yourself the best fighter ever, while spending your prime fighting brusseles, mitchel, baldomir, and judah/corley coming off losses, your gona get criticized. clean out the welterweight division and no one can say shit.
saying they wont givie you credit anyway isnt a defense for not accomplishing it
True Cotto just wants a pay day PBF does not have time for this bum.
very insightful. you are correct, no need for actual competition. guys shouldnt even bother competing against eachother anymore
tarver has to talk like this to get his confidence up. and he did it before the hopkins fight. and when the time came, he realized hopkins didnt give a fuck about his trash talking. thats why he fought weak
