Been floating around all over the internet, sherdog, Tito Ortiz's websites forums.. I can't find a link to the story though, anyone know if the rumors are true??
Story has it that they got into an altercation and Lennox bitch slapped him to the ground and Ortiz didn't do shit. If this is true score one for boxing and MMA is at 0!
it doesnt take a Rocket Scientist to know how to sprawl...just cuz a boxer boxes doesnt mean he doesnt know how to do anything else...I bet Lewis can do a lil something on the ground if he had to...as far as defense...its just fighting....practice is important but some people have a natural talent at fighting in any form
Here's a man who's never touched a wrestling mat.
I'm not trying to get into the who'd win in a fistfight debate, but saying that Lewis could defend a TD from a decent wrestler is pure ignorance. Lewis is a great boxer but he'd be put on his back rather easily if it came to it.
Tito's first reaction is to shoot anyway.
definitely he would, in a ring- a controlled setting, after a training camp and preparation. street fights happen under different circumstances
tito got into a street fight with Lee Murray, a much smaller kickboxer with a few mma fights. Lee beat his ass to the ground and matt hughes had to save tito. in the cage, lee murray would have lasted all of 10 seconds on his feet til a takedown. but this wasnt an mma match
Tito's first reaction is to shoot anyway. He'd go straight for Lewis' legs. It depends on how many clean punches Lewis can get off before he's on his back. Tito can definitely take Lewis down if he gets to him. That shouldn't be a problem.
in a controlled setting- a ring or cage, the wrestler is getting the boxer down on the ground time in time out. there are a few guys with wrestling skills that this might not apply to- oneill bell, jeremy williams, kermit cintron. but the boxer is being put on his back, thats for sure
on the street, completely different story
don frye getting beat up by a boxing instructor

Id love to find out that the story is true. it isnt.
one poster on sherdog started a thread. he gave no link, it was posted nowhere else, no gossip site or sports site.
but message boards like to run with these things and just assume its true. thats why the shitdick that started the thread on sherdog did it. look at this reaction (it was 35 pages long at sherdog).
again Id love nothing more than to find out its true but theres no proof of it whatsoever
LOL @ you lames! If Tito and Lennox are standing face to face how is he gonna get a kick off if he doesn't have a distance to start from.. he can probably knee him but you guys act like Lennox Lewis can't fight without gloves.. Besides a UFC person's hand to hand skills are shit. The punches Ortiz would throw at Lennox would be amateurish and he wouldn't land shit and get dropped.
All of those worked on their sprawl hours and hours.
It's not that Lewis doesn't have a KO power, he can knock out a horse if he connects.
No one is saying otherwise.
But all i get here is that Lewis will connect just like that and knock Tito out, and when i mention takedown you all act like it's easy to defend it.
You guys dont even want to admit that former HW champion could get taken down and elbowed.
And that's just pure ignorism.
I'm done with this thread, there is no point in talking if otherside doesnt want to think about other options.
f you read my post i said it aint about if he can go down because ofcourse he can, but my point is going down agaisnt a mma fighter doesnt eman you will automatically lose. i mean lewis is a big strong guy and probably will take a lot of energy to put him down and then he can punch hard abck. it aint like he goes down then loses.
but if lewis connects then tito is out.
all ufc fighters have problems against opponents that have good hand skills matt hughs is considerd one of the best at getting his opponents on the ground but when he fought b.j. he got dominated in the first round by bj's boxing and josh koschiek beat diego sanchez by boxing. in the last round of the fight with bisping and hamil bisping kept hamil from taken him down by boxing him

Okay guys, im convinced.
One dimensional boxer will beat former UFC champion because that former champion isnt capable of taking boxer down.
You proved your point.
I guess boxer take down defense is just so good because he practiced it a lot in boxing.
Not to mention the correct timing to land an upercut that they practice a lot on guys shooting into double leg.
That's why all champions in UFC are boxers and not one wrestler or jiu-jitsu practicioner.

just because a mma guy can take down a boxer doesn't eman he can win. one punch from lewis could knock the fuck out any man. this is pure fist with no glove. people have died from punches and at 40+ your punch doesnt go. he wont be as strong as he was but your power is there no matter what. if you are strong then you are strong.
yes i do believe maybe lewis would get taken down but not with ease. i dont however think that he would just lose when on the floor like that... but i do feel that one of his punches can ko any man alive.
the debate aint whether lewis can be dropped, its about who will win. lewis ko 25 secs.

just rush in and get him in ankle and Lewis would fall down in second. Well Sudo I am not to sure about this game plan because as soon as Tito went to just rush In I have a feeling that he would be on his back staring up at the cieling trying to figure out how he Is going to pry his nose off of his cheek.
Spot on!
Nothing would stop Ortiz's take downs like a nice swift 250 pound uppercut
Ortiz doesn't have the skill level of Lewis?
So Lewis is excelent wrestler, even better at ground and pound, not to mention that Lewis knows how to block kicks?
Lewis doesn't have the skill level of Ortiz, only advantage is boxing and he can use that for three seconds before going to the ground.
bye bye :cop:
Yeah people, Lewis is a boxer and can only do boxing stuff! He's absolutely physically incapable of doing non-boxing things in a street fight, like playing as Balrog in Street Fighter. Don't you chumps ever play video games?
Lewis would kill Ortiz with one right hand or uppercut. Lennox is a big strong dude, Ortiz probably wouldn't even be able to take him down.
Ortiz could take him down, no question. No doubt Lewis' lenghty ass has a shitty center of gravity. Good wrestlers tend to by a bit compact and stout, not tall and lengthy. Just watch this vid. of Lewis' ass being tossed around by Jeremy Williams (embedding disabled, motherfuckers).

One thing I never noticed was a guy in Lewis' side (coulda been Manny Steward) whispering to Lewis to just "go for a right to the chin" saying "we gotta get him outa there, we're too close to the fight." Haha, bitch asses.
