I voted 'no', but that's only a temporary answer. Boxing certainly is not doing itself any favors when the biggest fight of the decade can't be made because of egos, politics, blah blah. It's just disgusting.
Mayweather vs. Pacman is the ONLY fight casual fans are interested in seeing. It's the only one where I can tell my friends, "hey you guys HAVE to see this fight. It's going to be huge." And it's the only fight that can't seem to get made.
Boxing has it's other problems as well. Too many promotions/belts, sactioning fees, people getting stripted of their titles for no reason, cheating, corruption, ect. You name it. Before the UFC, fans just had to put up with it. But not any more. People are flocking to MMA because it lacks a lot of these issues and seems to be a more pure form of fighting.
I love boxing and I want it to stick around. But reading stuff like this just makes me frustrated and seems to hammer one more nail into the coffin. I don't think boxing will ever go away completely, but it's relevance is waining quickly.
Oh yeah, and you can add that punk bitch David Haye to the mess of things wrong with boxing. F' that dude for calling out the Klit's then running. Coward!
AUDLEY HARRISON can’t wait to get his hands on David Haye after a four-week bonking ban.

You're joking, right?
No, it won't hurt boxing. It'll just make Toney look like an idiot after talking all that trash. But I'm sure it won't phase Toney. According to him, all the HW's in boxing are "afraid to fight him". Whatever James.
Hell Ya! I've been waiting to hear this news all freaking day. this totally makes my night and silences the doubters. I'm very stoaked about this victory. No KO's was a pretty big suprise though.
I'm glad to see RJJ giving it one more shot. Even if he doesn't win, I hope it at least goes the distance. He has to redeam himself after those last couple of KO's. I know if anyone can do it, RJJ can. It should be interesting at least. I can't believe people saying that they have no interest in this fight whatsoever. There aren't many trilogies out there and this one has potential to be a great. Juts the potential of it has me excited enough to see it.
I'm pretty darn excited. This could determine the future of the HW devision. An old prospect vs. a new unbeated one. It's got all the makings of a great fight. Let's hope it lives up to it. BTW, I got my money on Wlad :)
Yeah, i think this fight is a waste of time to be honest. I really wish they'd set Vitali up against another HW champ like, Brewster or Byrd. The devision needs to become unified and vitali unifying the division is the only way (sadly) he'll earn respect in peoples eyes.
Look i know Vitali isen't the most talented HW ever but the guy is still the #1 dude in the HW devision no doubt. I agree with the poster. There's no one out there right now to really give vitali a hard time. Samuel peter maybe just because of his punching power. But Vitali has got a good chin unlike his borther. He took some big shots from Corey sanders and stood his ground.
I would really like to see a united champion again. I think Vitali needs to go after Brewster to avenge his brothers defeat. He also needs to make up that crappy loss to Byrd. Ruiz should be a pushover.
agree, imagine spending 3 years in prison for something u probally didnt do, people will say he did it cuz they hate Tyson, but look, he had money, bitches want it so they fuck them then say oooh he raped me, Tyson, 2pac, Kobe Bryant, it happens all the time, People just love to hate Tyson, but those are the same people who admire Ruiz & chris Byrd, WHY? i just dont get it, Tyson would have murderd every heavy since 1985 if he was able to keep his head straight, but that aint always easy for someone who came up like he did, these same people talkin shit saying hes crazy and a rapist are the same people that grew up in nice homes and spoiled by theyer parents. They dont kno what its like to be Tyson so they should just STFU!
While I think you make a couple valid observations, I think your missing the boat here. Yeah Tyson had his head screwed up a long time ago. But after a fight like that yesterday, it's hard to believe he ever really had any heart in him. You sound like a Tyson Apologist to me. Especially your last senatance on how we "don't know what it's like to be Tyson." Do you know what it's like to be Tyson? Please, humor me.
Tyson is done and has been for a while now. Danny Williams put the finishing touch on his career. Most people will say that Lewis did that but I think Williams was the one that showed the world Tyson just wasen't the same man anymore. He could be Ko'd by any two-bit bum that walked in the ring swiging. His lose to McBride only further degrades his past greatness. Don't get me wrong. I wanted Tyson to come back and give a good run for the title as much as anyone. However, you're fooling yourself if you actually believe, especially now, that he could have won against Vitali, Byrd, or even Ruiz for that matter. It's just sad and the guy needs to go out before he really gets hurt.
I think Toney is still a worthy contender. However, since he blew his shot he's going to have to wait a bit. I think the best looking Heavywieght fight right now would be Brewster and Vitali. Brewster is fresh of his stunning 1st round KO of Golata and Vitali is on a mission to unify the titles and prove to everyone he's the real champ. This is where the money's at IMO. It's been a while since we've seen 2 heavywieght champs face off against each other for unification. I think the last time was Holyfield/Lewis. (could be wrong on that) But yeah. I hope Brewster/Vitali happens sooner rather than later.
Wow. I really didn't expect this. I like zoo but maybe it's time for him to quit. I'd maybe go for a rematch just to try and clear his name, then retire. I'm really suprised that he quit. I didn't think zoo would have done that under any circumstances. Oh well.
Mike Tyson is dangerously close to cleaning out this division.
I feel sorry for Vitali.
I'm sorry but I don't think Tyson can even touch Vitali. I would be very very suprised if Tyson can score a KO and even more suprised if he can go the whole 12 rounds. Vitali will own Tyson no doubt. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see Tyson make a good run for it. And I Think he can take out the rest of the HW devision. But I think Vitali is just too tough for him. We'll see though.
This is a good thread. Here's the ones i hate the most in order:
1. Prince Naseem: I can't stand that idiots arrogance. I'm glad he got owned by MAB.
2. Lennox Lewis: What a freaking pussy. He got owned by Klitschko and wouldn't even give him the credit he deserved.
3. James Toney: Hate his arrogant ass.
4. Chris Byrd: This guy is so overrated it hurts me to talk about it.
5. Hmm.....I don't really hate anyone else.
Foreman fo' shizzle. That guy could rock your world with a jab. Tyson has power but it hasen't done much for him latley. I'd say foreman has proven his strength by maintaining that level of punching power over such a long period of time.
