This whole back and forth between Pac and PBF is ridiculous. How can this fight fail again? I don’t care who is at fault. What I do know is that we the fans are screwed out of a super fight. This is why UFC is kicking boxing ass! Look at the shitty fights coming up on HBO.
I don't think boxing is dead.
So far, i hear a lot of screaming, cursing and gnashing of teeth.
If boxing was dead, then why does it still elicit so much attention/emotion from both the media and the public?

I agree, it is a total joke but there are plenty of other fights for boxing fans to enjoy. The casual fans, however, who watch only PPV events likely think that boxing can't get its stuff together as a sport...UFC must be laughing like they were at a comedy show because that's what the whole thing looks like.
It's pretty much on life support right now, I hate to say but for the past few months I have become more and more disconnected from the sport, nothing really excites me anymore and now with this whole Pac-May fiasco it's downright sickening. It's like no fights can ever get made anymore, money and corruption has always ran rampant in the sport but it's all just a joke now. So we probably won't get Pac-May instead we get a moronic Margarito-Pac a boxer who is not even licensed to fight in the US or Pac-Cotto II which is even more of a joke since Pac beat the living shit out of Cotto already and will a second time again. Yup Boxing is pretty much dead...
Nothing more to say!!!!!:boxing:
Boxing isn't dead, but it's certainly not shining right now. There needs to be one belt, one champ per division. Like it used to be, and that will solve a lot.
I dont want PBF to think he has authority and power over us mere mortals, like we are desperate to see him fight Pac.
Lets twist it around and put pressure on him that if the fight is eventually made he better give moneys worth entertainment.
You guys are such women. One fight didn't get made. And it still probably will at some point in the future anyway.
Jeez, thank you.. If memory serves, it took awhile for Hagler/Leonard to get made. Settle down ladies.
If you went from boxing to MMA, you were never a boxing fan in the first place and you don't understand it. You're just a casual who never trained.
BTW when pac and floyd go away there will be new stars, like always.
Just because michael jordan retired from basketball does not mean the sport ended. Maybe the bulls though lol.
no it is not...BUT boxing could be in SERIOUS trouble once Mayweather and Pacman step away
who will be the next Superstar to emerge, who will be able to grab the attention of the "Casual Fans" like Mayweather is able to do with his trash talking, I don't think another boxer will ever be that bold, it is some that are BOLD but unfortunately they don't have the skills to back up their trash talking
HBO need to get off of Mayweather and Pacman and start promoting some of these younger fighters a lot more because Pacman and Mayweather probably only have 2-3 fights left in them before they step away...THEN WHAT?
How can boxing be dead and be all over the media?
How can the top draws in boxing sell millions of PPVs in one fight if the sport is dead?
The top 3 draws in boxing sell more than any of the stars in UFC. Cotto also had good ratings in his last fight against Foreman.
This is why I believe if boxing wants to develop further as a sport it needs a single governing body. None of this WBO WBA WBC KGF crapp, just boxing, and championship belts.
The concept is easy, the execution is hard.
boxing needs dana white.
he would've fired manny and floyd's bitch asses by now.
Pac and PBF as well as a few other fights could temporarily resurrect boxing. But only temporarily. The thing is we make such a big deal of certain fights and more often than not the actual fights are an anti climax and nothing to write home about.
Thats the issue with this fight that is hyped. Will it be worth the hype? Possibly not.
faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrttttttttttttttttt
OMG, I can't wait to shell out $50 to see Anderson breakdance, and next month I will pay another $50 to see world class beached whale Toney, who hasn't been on PPV since forever embarrass himself.
What a incredible time to be an MMA fan!
Oh yeah, and you can add that punk bitch David Haye to the mess of things wrong with boxing. F' that dude for calling out the Klit's then running. Coward!
I voted 'no', but that's only a temporary answer. Boxing certainly is not doing itself any favors when the biggest fight of the decade can't be made because of egos, politics, blah blah. It's just disgusting.
Mayweather vs. Pacman is the ONLY fight casual fans are interested in seeing. It's the only one where I can tell my friends, "hey you guys HAVE to see this fight. It's going to be huge." And it's the only fight that can't seem to get made.
Boxing has it's other problems as well. Too many promotions/belts, sactioning fees, people getting stripted of their titles for no reason, cheating, corruption, ect. You name it. Before the UFC, fans just had to put up with it. But not any more. People are flocking to MMA because it lacks a lot of these issues and seems to be a more pure form of fighting.
I love boxing and I want it to stick around. But reading stuff like this just makes me frustrated and seems to hammer one more nail into the coffin. I don't think boxing will ever go away completely, but it's relevance is waining quickly.
I'll probably get red K for saying this but oh well here it goes.
No. The sooner Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather JR retire the better for the sake of boxing. You may slate me for just saying that but this is the truth. I'll be ****ing glad when we dont have to hear anymore bullshit from these two.. They are making a mockery of boxing and fans. **** it, i just said it.
pac gives fans what they want, its mayweather
