I'm definitely going for Ibragimov..Since learning that Tyson is in his corner.
Not only that , but because everybody is so in love with Wlad, and saying he is the best HW in the world right now, which is somewhat true.
So hopefully Ibragimov can turn the tables, and become the new undisputed champion.
lyakovich was physically intimidated by shannon briggs to the point where he crapped his pants into getting knocked out
by guess is he will freeze up like a snowman against valuev.
briggs= total bum, knocked lyakovich out of the ring
valuev= better than briggs
Don't forget that Lyakovich was comfortably ahead on all the scorecards until what 20 sec left in the fight. Even with the knockdown, he still would have won. Valuev doesn't have Briggs' power.

Lets remember that Lyko was winning the fight all he had to do was stay away. Valuev is too slow and Lyko has good handspeed, I dont believe his fight with Briggs defines him. Im not impressed with Valuev and never have been. A guy of his size should be blowing people out, he doesnt have the power he should have for his size

Lyakhovich came into the Briggs fight sick and fatigued, he was lethargic and his handspeed wasn't there. Sergei was intimidated because Briggs is a musclebound scary looking dude and he also has devastating 1 punch KO power. That was not a motivated Lyakhovich, he looked nothing like the fighter who went to war with Brewster and dominated.
I don't think Lyakhovich will be intimidated by Valuev, Valuev is very slow and he isn't a big puncher. I don't think Sergei will be able to stop the iron chinned Valuev, but I can see him winning a UD/SD, Lyakhovich is very underrated, he has great footwork for a big man and a shotgun jab.
I dont see Valuev getting passed Lyko. Valuev is too slow I pick Lyko by late stoppage or decision

I think that Wlad vs. motivated Lyakhovich would be a lot better fight than Wlad vs. Valuev. Valuev won't bring much to the table, while a motivated Lyakhovich can bring a lot and give Wlad a run for his money.
for the record, i dont want valuev/wlad because it would be the "best" fight
i just think it would generate way more interest from non-fans than any other matchup.
since wlad will have already become unified champ i think that a matchup with valuev would be the best for the popularity of the division.
nobody who doesent already watch boxing will have interest in lyakovich, even though he is a good deserving fighter he just is not going to become a household name.
once wlad has beaten valuev his popularity will have grown to the point in america where people will tune in to see him fight the chagaevs, povetkins, dimitrenkos and lyakovichs of the world
wlad is the ONLY heavy with worldwide appeal right now
Wlad by brutal KO, I won't be surprised if Sultan leaves the ring unconscious on a stretcher.:D
I think he is going to give wlad some problems at least for a while. sultan isnt that easy to hit when he's moving like mayweather has him doing now. it probably will only be a matter of time though before one of those left or right hand missles of wlad detonates on sultans chin,,,then its fight over unless sultan can really catch him walking in as sanders did with that southpaw straight left
Wlad throws more jabs in a round than Briggs throws total.
yea,,I think wlad will beat sultan,,,,but the size thing gets too blown out of proportion. sultan is 220 lbs,,,not exactly a cruiserweight. speed and craftiness often beats size and power although sultan's problem here is that wlad is pretty damn quick and crafty himself for a big guy
Do people think Sultan gonna retire after he loses or come back and fight in the division. Brock basically is retiring soon, Byrd gonna retire now, Brewster's probably gone for good, is Sultan gonna be next?
Ibragimov has been successful with his new cautious, Mayweather (Jeff) style. But that's all wrong to fight Wlad. A moving target is still a target for a sharpshooter. To make it competitive Iggy has to get in Wlad's chest. But to get there he has to get past the jab, which I don't see happening.
So Iggy might try and be aggressive, knowing that's his only hope, but he'll get carved up quick and look for a way out. Three rounds is the best I see him doing if he fights to win. If he tries to hang on he might make it seven or eight.
I want Vlad to win because he looks awesome as the heavyweight champ. but if Ibragimov wins well he'll earn my respect.
It's hard to see Ibragimov winning considering his size compared to Wlad.
Wlad vs the freakshow Valuev would be interesting IMO, Valuev obviously has no chance, but he does have an iron chin and he has never been down. Wlad would be the first man to knockdown Valuev and KO him, it would be hilarious seeing the 7 foot 320 lb behemoth crashing to the canvas, the ring would probably collapse.
i see your point about seeing such a big guy being ko'd but i meant from the perspective of it being a competitive fight. wlads handspeed would be far too fast for someone of valuevs primitive skills, not to mention he doesn't have a great deal of power

lol yea. that's exactly what i'm hoping to see.
valuev is the tallest heavyweight champion in history.
plus it'd be interesting to see how wlad will fight against someone taller than himself.
