What you're saying is not wrong, but I don't think most fighters truly care about legacy. They care about making money to be financially set. Once they no longer have the hunger, it's dangerous to stick around to build a legacy against younger/more hungry fighters. He's a hof'er, but I agree he can't be considered a GOAT candidate.
If that helps you sleep at night knowing you backing the biggest biiiitch in boxing history I guess, real niiqgas ain't worried about another mans pockets.
I'm not a fan, I just think it's funny you saying a elite level boxer is scared, like you wouldn't get put in a stretcher if you were in with the guys he's been in with. I don't back Andre Ward, but I respect him. And I'm not worried about his pockets, I'm just making sure you know he got paid more in one fight than most ppl will make in a lifetime. That's pretty good for a scared guy. Oh and he's not lost a fight since he was 12 years old. Im sure that makes him a b*tch.
I watch every televised event I possibly can, and have spent countless hours watching old fights on YouTube. Occasionally I'll spend for a Ppv. I'm partial towards fighters outta Detroit or my home state of Michigan. In that sense, it's like rooting for a sports team. Been very lucky with some of the fighters we've been blessed with.. James Toney, Mayweather Jr, Hearns, the Dirrell brothers, Kronk gym fighters (RIP Manny Steward), and before my time we had Louis and Ray Robinson. But all in all I love when it's an American vs a foreigner.. Team USA all day!
Don't project yourself on me I was face to face with the coWARD and he didn't want none and oh he lost last November you dee riding haaaard and have the audacity to say you're not a fan :lol1:
Just checked his boxrec. Yup, 32-0. Sure didn't lose in November. Are you sure it wasn't drake you were face to face with? Your story would be more believable in that case.
You forgot the part where team Ward called team GGG and they returned the call to team Ward within half hour saying "no thank you". But keep smoking the pipe
His expectations are unrealistic because he's an elite fighter. Just as they were for Floyd, manny, Hopkins, etc... With great talent comes great expectation, and all of GGG haters are acknowledging how great he is with every hateful post. If this guy was really a hype job, nobody here would say anything about him
Sometimes boxing fans are their own worst enemies. They watch the fights as one big round, don't keep scorecards, and then like to cry when the decision is announced. This isn't surprising, there are people that think Floyd lost to Maidana and Pacquiao. Probably the same people that think Kovalev-Ward I was a robbery.
Unfortunately, people see one guy coming forward and assume he deserves to win.
Anyway, here is my scorecard. Watched it with no audio so I wouldn't be influenced. *** means that the round was close and could have gone either way. Canelo was throwing the combos, landed the eye catching shots, and better body shots. Golovkin applied the non-stop pressure.
Neither guy was hurt, dropped, bloodied, battered or took significant damage. Rounds were close. Cries of robbery uncalled for.
1. Canelo
2. Canelo
3. Canelo
4. Golovkin ***
5. Golovkin ***
6. Canelo ***
7. Golovkin (clearest round in the whole fight in my opinion)
8. Golovkin
9. Canelo ***
10. Golovkin
11. Golovkin
12. Canelo
6-6, 114-114.
Your name is golden boy and your profile pic is Canelo punching GGG.... Your whole post wasn't even worth reading due to the fact
I swear I gave Golovkin 3 rounds, 1 round a draw and the rest all to Canelo. GGG was very ineffective with his power punches today. Rarely pressed when Canelo was against the ropes. Very tentative from Golovkin.
He literally walked through Canelo best shots and threw/landed more and landed at a better percentage. Canelo fought great but 118-110?
I saw the fight here in my home country (Panama) with some friends and we all thought canelo won, also a lot of pol who watched the fight thought the same (friends that are casuals mostly thought GGG won - but ppl who watch boxing regularly mostly told me canelo won) but then I go in the U.S. sites and social media and everybody is claiming GGG got robbed. One thing that ocurred to me is maybe they are being victims of watching the fight under a biased narrative by Jim Lampley, which is usual, was this case last night??
You must be mistaken. If you think Canelo won, YOU are the casual fan. Sorry bud. No one is victim of anything, besides GGG victim of a terrible scorecard and decision.
These guys are friends, hard to see them ever fighting unless the payday was too big to decline. Also broner needs to fight a few bums to get his confidence back up. A spence fight right after being embarrassed by Mikey Garcia really might be career suicide. He needs to build himself back up so at least he'll go into the fight with confidence and maybe look good.. Overall just not a fight I want to see for either guy
Toney was cool. I'm just to young, Roy Jones would have been cool.
I loved boxing since like 9 years old. But what REALLY got me into it was the super six tourney for super middelweights with froch, ward, dirrell, kessler, abe, taylor and the rest.
THAT TROUNEY WAS JUST SO ILL, i still watch highllight fights from it.
My Naive self thought tourneys were the norm for boxing for a little while there hehehe
I went to the Dirrell vs Abraham in Detroit back in 2010! Dirrell is another favorite of mine. As you can prob tell from my pic lol
I would totally pay $100 to see either of these guys fight McGregor. They would shut that clown up for good.
We can only dream of such a treat my friend.
7 on 2 or more judges score cards, just like every other damn fight. Sick of hearing about this ****, stop being negative and get hyped for this ****ing awesome fight man
This ^^^ Hard to understand OP with GGG sack in his mouth
Great question... Very tough to answer.. Can agree with op, Saunders is easily my least favorite. I believe I said in another thread that he's a broke azz mcgregor with way more boxing talent
