I think Mayorga would be my pick, beat a very good fighter b/c vernon got stupid, the rematch thats touchy, but he made his bones off the forrest victories only to lose his WW title to Spinks,(who is fuckin terrible to watch) dude couldn't punch his way out a wet paper bag. case could be made for Rahman, but i disagree with Hopkins being mentioned in this thread at all, he beat keith holmes to set up the Unification w/Tito and everyone knows King was banking on Tito winning so they could pack on 15 lbs. and try to take on Jones when he was King P4P, numero Uno. Mayorga easily in my humble opinion, I'll also agree with Ricky Hatton, after "Zoo" who really has he beaten, got a gift against Collazo, Hammered by Floyd Jr., was rocked by lazcano, and he's going to be fighting Paulie, wtf?
even HBO, had that in their sched. replay of Hopkins/Tarver. that is some shit though, i didn't buy it b/c they were gonna show it a week later.
EXCLUSIVE DELAY BROADCAST:
JUNE 17, 9:30 PM ET/6:30 PM PT
HBO Sports presents the exclusive delay broadcast of the Antonio Tarver vs. Bernard Hopkins, immediately before Taylor vs. Wright.
HBO is running World Championship Boxing’s Jermain Taylor vs. Winky Wright live from the FedEx Forum in Memphis on Saturday, June 17 (9:30 p.m. ET/6:30 p.m. PT), all by itself. No airing of Hopkins’ domination of Tarver will accompany the showdown between the world’s top middleweights.
No word on whether HBO will get around to showing the Hopkins feat to a wider audience down the line or not…
I think chavez dusted him in 3 or less,( don't recall exactly but i know it wasn't even slightly competitive) look for zab to just blitz him. Judah hits a hell of alot harder than JCC jr.
There is now way Judah loses, as asian-sen pointed out galvan was cannon fodder for JCC Jr., he's from Indiana and i have seen him fight in person and go life and death with some mexican pug who had a record of like 9-3-2, Galvan actually lost that fight it was for the indiana jr welterweight title, or some shit
is it name value, or better yet name recognition they are after, fighting a guy who has been in almost every spmidwgt champion of the last few yrs and has yet to beat a single one?
#1 Tommy Hearns
#2 Roberto Duran
#3 Bernard Hopkins
#4 Evander Holyfield
#5 Mike Tyson
#6 Shane Mosley @135lbs
#7 Sugar ray leonard
#8 Larry Holmes
#9 Joe Frazier
#10 Julio Caesar Chavez SR.
others i really like:
Felix Trinidad
Sweet Pea
Ali
James toney
Ricardo Mayorga< not really based upon his boxing skills, or lack thereof, but his persona and the shit he says @ press conferences is some funny shit
ta most that impresses me wit Pac is how he stopped Barrera. That jest shows how much powerful Pac is. You don't jest drop Barrera like crazy like that and then TKO him. Morales couldn't do it. Hamed couldn't do it. Pac did it.
junior jones did it, he dropped MAB, whipped him twice, the Morales destroyed JJ
i caught that fight on espn2 that night and it was a blatant rip off, bell lost that fight he really didn't do much. but brown was pouring it on and even rocked bell on ocassion. dale brown should rightfully be IBF champ.
I truly hope MAB pulls it out, but the terrible one is a pound for pound contender, i think @ the wght. they are fighting at it has to favor Morales, gonna be a great scrap i hope more along the lines of the 1st one as opposed to #2, but regardless i'll be watching
Stand corrected, the point I'm trying to make is that N'dou has fought well at 140 in the past - worth consideration.
wrong N'dou, lil' floyd beat phillip not lovemore
I would just like to stop hearing about ricky in general.
what big fights are out there for him, i think he gets crushed by Cotto, that kid has the goods, V Harris would school him. How about Hatton vs Sharmba Mitchell? who wins this one, i think mitchell would, hell hatton has made a living off Sharmbas left over, what about Lovemore Ndou vs Hatton
Ruiz, flat out sucks, but he keeps winning somehow, Brewster is a joke, a " Paper Champion". I don't think VKLIT is anything really special, he is just the best of a shitty field, did anyone catch the klit sanders fight, wtf is up w/ cory sanders coming in fat and out of shape, and he still managed to tag klit, it's a sad sad state in Hvy boxing
i agree Gatti is just a blood and guts warrior dude is hardly ever in a bad fight, but when he does step up he gets smacked down he wasn't very impressive in winning the WBC title from Branco
jeff lacy, Raf Marquez are two that i think of most, JoCalz sucks ass fighting has beens and really never were's, how come he hasn't tangled w/ say robert allen, or antwon echols they are both fightin super now aren't they
