Ahhh a Derby another Derby boy on here, I was Allestree bred but now located in San Francisco - miss going to the footy, but the Mrs earns a huge amount over here so what can you do?
That would have to be one lucky punch, Toneys chin is made of stone.
Rahman has won on a lucky punch before (Lewis fight), I still give it to Rahman, depends if Toney has been on the juice again (ps if there are lawyers reading, I mean Jamba Juice)
...he won on a lucky punch against an opponent who's chin is weaker than Toney's.
Don't forget, Toney's beaten both common opponents they have, whereas Rahman has lost to both of them. And don't try any bullshit about the official decision in the Ruiz fight being a No-Decision. He beat him, regardless of what the books say.
Heh I am not saying Toney couldnt have beaten Ruiz without the juice, just saying that he tested positive, I am no Ruiz nuthugger!
I agree about the freak part...Before the Steve Robinson fight Hamed fought the usual bum suspects. He WAS back then much faster but less experienced. He would not have been able to defeat a fighter as gifted as Pernell. The best he could have hoped for was a flash knockdown but he wouldn't win many rounds.
Good to see another Derby person on here, bred in Allestree myself but now relocated to San Francisco as my Mrs earns a huge amount over here, so I have the hardship of living in Norcal :)
WTF, come on, I live over here now, and love it, but you are a tosser, you only joined WW2 late becuase you got bombed by the Japanese, at least we had the grace of fighting without the A Bomb. Props to Hatton please, hopefully he can do what Lennox did and prove that there is a Boxing world outside the US
How is that? Didn't the British get waxed during the War of 1812?
If it wasn't for the US, Britian would be part of Germany.
miopic id the word that springs to mind, you rewite the war history like you do the Movies - apparently the americans got Private Ryan out, took U357 and broke the enigma code, I am happy you helped us, just a few years too late, could have saved a few lives otherwise
At the time the US got involved, you were losing. So, if we hadn't joined in, Hitler would've owned you and I am sure if you guys had the bomb first, you wouldn't have hesitated to use it. Not to mention, we fought that war on two different fronts. You guys could never do that. If he's as good as you say he is, then he should come to the states and fight.
Both are grabbing, a real rough house of a fight, Hatton getting caught, but Ricky nullifying Kostas money shot. I am a big Hatton fan, want him to win but dont know if ricky can keep this up
A lot of the 'Hatton' fans you mention jumped on the Hatton bandwagon in the last year or so, all true Hatton fans new this fight would be tricky, he definitely won the fight but Collazo won most of his winning rounds in a big way so perhaps he has a moral victory.
It was a poor performance and Hatton admitted as much, the proof will be in the next couple of fights!
MikyHatton - You are absolutely correct, Billy Graham stated a long time ago that he didnt think Collazo was the right fight for Ricky to show his style. But Ricky took it anyway, and he won a close fight, away from home in his first fight at 147 whilst giving one of the worst displays of his career. I dont understand why people are giving Ricky so much of a bashing I give Collazo a lot of props, he did a lot better than I thought he would and I dont think his stock has gone down whatsoever, in fact I think I lot more people know about him now and will give him more respect (although I am sure it stings to have lost the belt). From memory I also dont remember Ricky promising a rematch, I seem to remember him saying he would fight anyone and that included a possible rematch with Collazo - not a cast iron promise to do it next.
Just to add my 2 penneth I think Witter Harris would be a great fight. Just out of interest seeing as you are from Notts TheIron One, what do you think about the Froch situation at the moment (I'm originally from Derby, now based in San Francisco, but like to see the East Midlands lads doing well)
Lets face it VK is the best of a mediocre bunch at the moment. Although he beat on Danny Williams for the whole fight he struggled to get rid of him, when he shouldnt have. For the record I beleive Lewis was and will probably always be regarded as a better fighter than VK. VK may have been ahead on the cards when the Lewis VK fight was stopped but at that stage of the fight but Lewis was working his way back into it and if the fight had gone on he would have made such a mess of VK's eye that I dont think it would have ever recovered well enough for VK to be in the position he is today - keeping the belts warm until we find a fighter worthy of some real excitement fighting for the belts
Hatton a no good holligan, dont think you know what you are talking about, Hatton is one of the most well manner and down to earth people in boxing - you people really dont know what you are talking about. All I say is come on Ricky, just to shut you guys up for a bit.
Pretty boy was impressive last night, however I dont see him having enough finishing power at 140 to knock anyone out, PBF caught Bruseles off balance a few times but never really rocked him. As for PBF moving up to 147 - no, he is just too damn small.
Lewis is taking a risk, but a risk against an overated donkey with no style who just walks forward with his hands down and his chin hanging out. Cant see VK winning, too easy for Lewis to hit.
What makes him deserving the fight with the plastic Australian is the fact his is the mandatory challenger, I feel it will be a war but Rickys bodyshots will give Kosta trouble and I think Ricky will win with a late stoppage (so long as Ricky avoids the cuts)
