Just read an interview with Hatton where when asked if he'll fight Collazo again, he was like, Ohhh, I don't know, I'd rather fight someon else, I already beat Collazo, so I want to fight someone else, blah, blah, blah. First, he promised a rematch with Kostya and later said he will never fight him again, now this one. Dirty fighter and dishonest person, great combo.
If Collazo wants a rematch, then he should make a fight with a top WBA contender at welter, then they would order a rematch, since it was a pretty close fight.
As for Ricky saying he would rematch and then now not being that interested, yeah I don't like that. But I totally agree that he should not rematch him. Another win over Collazo does nothing for him that this one didn't do. Collazo is a guy that you'll never look good fighting. Ricky should look to Baldomir/Gatti or Corrales/Castillo winner.
yea most people who thought Hatton won dont wanna seea rematch because they know he will lose this time around. I would love to see a rematch. To bad Hatton said one thing to the public then decided something else again.
So you say. You think the whole world revolved around what you think? All you can come up with is that? It's untrue? Oh well, in that case, nobody enter into any discussion from this point on because PBF might say your opinion is untrue. Everyone generalizes to some degree because they can't honestly accoutn for everyone's collective opinion; not everyone has the same opinion.
no, but your an idiot who makes general racist statements that have no backing. the crowd in boston was pro hatton.
i totally understand Hatton looking for a bigger fight, as there are bigger pay days, and more rewarding fights status wise than a rematch, but who doesnt like a good rivalry every now and then??...especially if a rematch turns out just as close or closer as the first fight? I think Luis earned another shot at Hatton in my eyes....thats just my opinion...If a fighter takes a good fighter like Hatton to the wire in a battle like that he should get another shot.
Soda
the better man doesn't always win
Boxing is alot like Politics, Don't belive everything that is promised.
They have something else in common too. The better man doesn't always win. It disgusts the heck out of me but it's the simple truth. Just look at the career of Emanuel Augustus for example. He's better than plenty of the belt holders around today and yet the man has lost 27 fights. In a perfect world a good 10 of those losses would have been wins.
I heard Collazo mentioned when he beat Jose Antonio Rivera; who if you don't know, just won a piece of the jr. middleweight title.
This fight did get him a lot more attention
Nobody gave two shits for Collazo before he fought Hatton. All these American-based fans out here wait until the Brits get a fighter they think is something, send him over and the patriotism takes over. They back whoever their guy is, in this case Collazo, even despite the fact that they didn't even pay attention to Collazo at any point before that.
thats a very general and untrue statement...
I think it is more of the "Hatton Team" making the decision; meaning, the out-spoken trainer named Billy Graham...the same guy who suggested Kostya Tszyu retire, and that Ricky would not be giving him a rematch because there is no point.
Billy didn't want his boy fighting Collazo in the first place...then when the fight is made he says Ricky should win by late KO, then his boy goes through a hellava fight, and there is "NO Rematch" in his head.
Well, I think Mayweather might bring this up:
"I fought Castillo, who was Champion, he wasn't a big name guy even though he was a very good fighter, he gave me a rough fight, I won, but people think it was TOO close, so I gave him a rematch, and I beat him again, I don't duck nobody."
your not much of a fuking fan are you. you jump to bandwagon coz he gave a shit performance.
What da fuck are you talking about man, listen ill say this i thought Hatton would DESTROY Collazo becuz i didnt know the guy(Collazo) and had never seen him fight, i have only seen Hattons 1 fight against Tszyu and use to play with him on PS2 FNR3 so i was going for him, but after i saw SAT figth ive tottaly changed my point of view not becuz of Collazo preformance but Hattons, i have never been a Hatton fan and will never be i simply mad a mistake by feeding in to the hype (TALK)! Also if you check my prior post i did state that Hatton would beat Collazo, but also said his fighting style will not make him attractable or a GREAT, becuz he punchs and clinches, clinches and punches!
I have however gained great respect from Collazo and do plan on watching him fight very soon!
Hatton can’t fight Collazo next anyway, as part of the deal was to have the next mandatory challenger for the WBA title to be Oktay the German dude. He was meant to fight Collazo, but stepped aside on the condition that he fights the winner next.
So Hatton is most likely to give up the belt, and chase bigger fights, so the idea of a rematch is out of the question.
Every boxer is going to say they will give a rematch if asked the question, his not exactly going to say his not.
Most top boxers in the welterweight will now avoid Luis Collazo; he would be regarded as a dangerous fighter with little reward in beating him. I think he would last 12 rounds with Mayweather as well.
However in the future, I think Hatton and Collazo should fight again to settle the dispute. As people are split 50-50 on who actually won the fight.
Hatton never chose the fight, it was HBO.

If he were dishonest he would have LIED and said "Yes, i fully intend to fight Collazo again".
Understand???

You are so biased you can't see any point of view but your own..
and a very sore loser..I for one are laughing my ass of at you..
You WANKER...LOL
A lot of the 'Hatton' fans you mention jumped on the Hatton bandwagon in the last year or so, all true Hatton fans new this fight would be tricky, he definitely won the fight but Collazo won most of his winning rounds in a big way so perhaps he has a moral victory.
It was a poor performance and Hatton admitted as much, the proof will be in the next couple of fights!
MikyHatton - You are absolutely correct, Billy Graham stated a long time ago that he didnt think Collazo was the right fight for Ricky to show his style. But Ricky took it anyway, and he won a close fight, away from home in his first fight at 147 whilst giving one of the worst displays of his career. I dont understand why people are giving Ricky so much of a bashing I give Collazo a lot of props, he did a lot better than I thought he would and I dont think his stock has gone down whatsoever, in fact I think I lot more people know about him now and will give him more respect (although I am sure it stings to have lost the belt). From memory I also dont remember Ricky promising a rematch, I seem to remember him saying he would fight anyone and that included a possible rematch with Collazo - not a cast iron promise to do it next.
i actually had hatton winning the fight by a round or 2..he dominated collazo the first 4 rounds and dropped him in the 1st which should have been a 10-8 round (for thouse of us who know boxing) and im not a hatton fan..he still is trash
bro. hatton can shake on a rematch. but at the end of the day. the ppl that look after him. want him and themselves to get the largest pay days ever..
true. They are looking for Hatton's safety. They know Collazo will spell disaster all the time.
Talk about a bunch of sore losers...
We've seen that fight..What the hell do we want to see it again for...
Only collazo nut hangers want to see it again in the hope that the next time they might win..
Well there are loads more interesting fights out there in my opinion...Cotto, Gatti , etc..good tear ups without the clash of styles..
It was an awkward fight for Hatton and I'm sure he would fight Collazo again if he needed to as
Hatton said he would fight anyone..But that doesn't mean he has to fight Collazo,
Screw him he lost get over it losers..
He wants and everyone else wants to see more interesting fights..instead of going back over old fights..
All in all...all this belly aching by some people on this site is getting fucking boring...Get used to losing will ya and stop your fucking crying..
