I think that would Handicap the greatness of our sport. It's only every so often that a fighter climbs in weight like this. You asked us to not talk about the past but in the past only great fighters have been able to deal with the larger weight spans. I would like to see it again in the future.
This. Imagine another once in a lifetime boxing talent not being able to explore his greatness simply because he's not big enough.
You don't even know what class Bute is in because he hasn't bothered to challenge himself with a fight that he is anything less than a 6-1 favorite in.
The only time in his career he was under pressure, against Andrade, he completely melted down.
And Dirrell will not get stopped by a body shot against Bute, Dirrell is a little taller and has 5' of reach advantage on Bute. If anyone is going to get knocked out it will Bute trying to rush in and land a punch that he has gotten away with the past 3 years while fighting guys who couldn't throw a counterpunch to save their lives.
Bute won every second of that fight up until the last round. The reason he got gassed was because he was trying to close the show and not coast to a victory. That shows he has guts and not a complete melt down like you described. I do agree he had the benefit of the home ref. Go watch the fight.
I just watched the first minute of the 12th round. Bute threw almost no punches. He threw a couple weak jabs... and he tied Andrade up 5 times.
So there I told you.
Obviously you don't know what the hell you are talking about because the video does not lie.
I suggest you go watch it, since you are operating on nothing but a shitty memory.
Your potty mouth tirades deter me not. Watch the exchanges. Dude did not get on his bike and try to coast to victory. He let his hands go, which I admit is stupid but he tried to close the show.
Bute wasn't trying to close the show, he was dead on his feet already in the 11th round. The referee warned him towards the end of the 11th because he was already holding Andrade at every chance.
Go watch the fight chump.
Watch it again and tell me Bute wasn't throwing everything he had the first part of that last round. Go ahead, tell me.
Whats the chances they are gonna mandate it though?
I don't understand all this commission shit
So there you go. The pressure shouldn't be on Manny to prove his innocence. Instead it should be put on the commission to mandate random blood testing. FOR EVERYBODY.
WW is 147, not 145. the fact he requested a catchweight is because he is weary of Cotto at the normal weight. I like Manny but he had already had a catchweight fight against Oscar, why does he need another catchweight fight after convincingly beating 3 respected WW at 147 and marg at 150?
For the record WW is 141-147 lbs.
Prince Naseem was an absolute beast on the heavy bag. The thing was twice his weight but his combination of timing and power made that m0therFuc3r move.
Are you insinuating that Manny is on PED's therefore he doing all these thing without a decline in his performance? Remember, RJJ is a convicted PED user himself. Key word being convicted.
Didn;t he take hydroxycut or some generic fatburner?
Roy doesn't even drink, never did drugs or smoke or anything I doubt he would take PEDS
That's a PED. It's a stimulant.
I work local stories for ESPN... Do you know it's a felony to qoute someone, and claim that source is from ESPN, when you damn well know it's not? I'll be looking into this, and be notifying espn asap.
Dude. Its on ESPN's main page. The link is right there on my post.
It's the tax implications guys. If he shows a high amount of his income goes to charity or the operations of his charity he gets a tax break. What the author is outlining is that there were large amounts of contributions into the operations and very little to charities (very disproportionate). The money he uses for his operations may go right back into his pocket. That's tax fraud.
u think its that easy? floyd has been in hot water with the irs on numerous occasions. do u honestly think they havent looked into the operations of his foundation? i guarantee u they have. the irs isnt anything if not thorough. dont think for a second u have discovered something they havent.
Just replying to the people here who say it doesn't matter what he does with his money. Bottom line: it does matter.
Pascal needs to haul his a$$ out of Canada and fight in the US for a change. If he wants a shot, he needs to make consessions, simple as that! King, just like arum owns a fighters world! How fuking stupid can team Pascal be to not know the obvious in the Boxing Business?????? What planet are they from??!!! That is like a car mechanic not knowing what a transmission is!!!
Don't be a retard. The only place a Cloud-Pascal fight would sell-out is Quebec.
