Freddie Roach: We Took Clottey Because We're Still After Mayweather

There has been about 5 occassions where Roach, Pac and Co have addressed the PBF issue in the last 24-48 hrs......just tryin to get some hype off the back of mentioning his name.............

I agree. The $10M weight penalty was their first sign of being scared. They should just stop talking about Mayweather is they'll never do what it takes to make the fight happen. This dude got banned :thinking:

If the fight was March 13th by the Time Roach got done drawing it up it would be too late they would still have to practice it. I think that Forbes was what helped him finish the plan. Training is what wins or loses the fight. At this level it is very rare that something on the night apart from the other guy that could stop you losing. Forbes musta tried that shoulder roll in sparring and Roach was seeing what was Pac's best way through it. If both train their asses off, it's gonna be a good fight. I believe both know the deal and if it gets made, then I am hyped. I just don't wanna be on this site when they negotiate though. Although I agree that it was left late, but then the fight was being negotiated since december

They took Clottey because they were looking for an easy fight. Bradley, Alexander, Paul Williams or Juan Manuel Marquez would have all agreed to fight him at at catchweight or at 147. Yet he chose a guy who lost his last fight to a guy that Pac KOd in his last fight. What that tells me is if you are not on a losing streak, you won't be fighting Pacquaio. you trying to tell me bradley, alexander and jmm are tougher fights than clottey? 1) jmm is a blown up lightweight 2) alexander just got on the map with the urango KO 3) bradley is a showtime boxer 4) some say pwill ducked clottey

i don't really think they are scared of him losing, cause he isn't expected to be fighting for much longer, but i do agree that it is arum and roach that are the ones stopping this fight from happening, for roach i think it is a bit of arrogance and pride. arum is just a complete idiot sometimes. by the way that williams punch on winky is impressive, those arms are freaky long. Yeah I dont think its Pac. Its the guys whose job it is to look our for him. And on Williams yet that is crazy I never seen anything like that.

Roach don't seem like he is willing to budge on this testing thing, I don't think this fight is gonna happen Then he should shut the hell up! If they are not willing to agree to the one demand that Mayweather wanted, they should shut the hell up and continue to fight guys on a losing streak until Pac retires.

I am pretty sure if Pac was training for Mayweather, Roach would have worked on the plan. The fact that they are facing Clottey and Roach has managed to work on a plan is just a bonus. The commision doesn't ask fighters to come in at 145 but thats ok for team Pac. the commision doesn't typically see a guy fighting at 130, than a couple years later fighting a top 3 WW, 145 ain't that much to ask for considering the natural weight difference between him and cotto and the fact that he was giving cotto his biggest payday.

If you think that is wrong tehn so be it. If you think Pac is ducking cuz of that then so be it. But, I am letting you know what I think is going to have to happen for the fight to get done. You right but I will but I want to point out that Holyfield never took blood. It was a urine steroid testing which they didn't have before. It had no blood testing. And, Golden boy did have a problem with Shane taking blood testing when Zab Judah ask for it... I think the fight is going to happen. I think Roach wanted more time to prepare for Floyd. And, I think if Floyd accepts to fight in Dallas with a 50-50 split then you will see Roach and Arum accept Floyd blood testing demand. Dallas is out of the question. If they asked for the fight in Texas they basically ducked the fight. GBP and Mayweather didnt even bother to look at that stadium.

But why should Floyd agree to fight in Dalla's or agree to a 50/50 split? Lets be realistic here, Mayweather-Mosley is gonna sell a lot more then Pac-Clottey, this is gonna totally destroy any 50/50 agreement they had already come too, Floyd has stated this also......
