Floyd took a shortcut to the top of the WW division by fighting and beating a journeyman. Now he's just sitting on his win, while the REAL fighters are actually getting in the ring and proving themselves. How is it that the WW champion isnt fighting any WW's? Arum offered $8M to PBF to fight Margarito a few years ago, how much do you guys think he'll be giving to Cotto? Anything less than $6M is a slap in the face and Cotto should turn it down, IMHO. In order to maintain a WBC strap this organization requires their champs to defend at least twice a year in either a voluntary or mandatory defense in any of the following sequences against any of the following challengers: 1.) A consensus top 10 contender; 2.) A champion or top 10 contender OF ANOTHER WEIGHT CLASS (higher or lower) with a majority vote of Board of Governors (I call this one the Dela Hoya/Hatton 'exception' rule because it has given Floyd the position to legitimately fight these guys without entertaining true welters and still retain his strap); 3.) A former or retired world champion with a majority vote of Board of Governors; 4.) Another boxing organizations champion if recognized by the WBC, upon majority vote of Board of Governors. The Margarito that fought on Saturday would beat Floyd. U can call me crazy if u want, but i dont see Floyd being able to handle that much pressure and punch output. Not to mention Margarito's size and power advantage. The main reason why i see Margarito beating Floyd is, Margo doesnt let u set up or think in the ring. He's constantly on you firing bombs. He doesnt tire, and nothing seems to faze him. There is nothing that Floyd could do to make Margarito respect him in my opinion.

GL: When will Margarito vacate the IBF title officially? The Bobfather: When the IBF tells us to. In other words, when it is clear under the agreement we have under the IBF. Once Margarito signs to fight Cotto, and not to fight Clottey, the title is vacated and Clottey will fight for the vacant title. I was overly impress with Margarito on saturday, He just too everything Cintron had to offer and basically broke him down...I really cant wait for his fight with Cotto because THAT might be the big break that he needs to break through the elite. So was i. I dont know many fighters who would've beat Margarito on Saturday. He threw more than 600 punches in just short of 6 rounds. He was like a runaway train with no fucking brakes!
