Well it's really just cut and dry.
lol who in the hell wants to see Floyd right now? I mean sure he's great and he can do his wrestling thing. But the fight at 147 is on it's way.

there were shitloads of threads and posts claiming he would just like there were shitloads of posts about how judah would stop mayweather, and hatton's pressure would be too much for floyd to handle. now, i could go back right now and dig up countless posts about oscar. people discredit floyd's wins so much it's fucking pathetic, claiming he never fought a real welterweight, when judah and baldomir were at welterweight for years, and shane was too busy taking a vacation, floyd fought oscat at 154, and the sixe difference was apprant, but skill level was also that, yet, since floyd didn't fight tony, knowing he wanted to fight oscar his whole career, floyd is a duck right? you fucking people are sad. truly fucking sad. i remember when people were actually picking carlos to stop floyd, now those same little pukes probably changed their username and are now bashing his win against a guy who had a great year stopping gatti and although gatti was at the end of the road almost, gatti still put on a great performance prior to the knockout, but who cares right? it was gatti, and carlos beat judah, who was suppose to kill him. was it floyd's fault that it was so called a weak division at the time, which imo couldn't be any further from the truth, because clottey, mosley, margarito i could understand as being called weak, but nonetheless he was there, judah, cintron, baldomir(wbc champion by the way), quitana who was undefeated, and of course paul williams, and last but not least, the best of them all, floyd. so, i guess this weight class was weak until cotto moved up? hmmmm. hypocrites make me laugh at them.
you claimed judah was a great win for everybody, but i feel you claim this because cotto beat him, and that's it, because you discredit floyd for not fighting welterweights, when judah was one, but seeing how cotto beat mosley, who openly ducked floyd, urango, who can be looked at as the equivalence to baldomir if terms of skill level, the only difference is that carlose actually had a lgeit title, cotto fougth quitana which was a good win for him, i'll give him that and mosley, now he's fighting margarito, and he kncoked out judah, so cotto fought judah, margarito, and quitana, 3 good fighters, and one was undfeated also at welterweight. floyd fought judah, hatton, baldomir, 3 good fighters, sharmba mitchell who people discredit, and although he wasn't a legit ww, many experts including manny steward looked at sharmba as a threat to floyd, because of his supposed speed that supposedely matched floyd's speed, which it didn't and floyd dominated the guy, so i don't look at this fight as a good win for floyd at all, but it was his 1st fight at ww, so be it. floyd fought oscar at 154, and beat him for his title. hello people, think about this, floyd fought oscar and beat him at oscar's weight class imo by a larger margin than the scorecards indicated and many experts agree with also, it's been noted, and had oscar beaten floyd, would you guys have discredited his win over him because he was too small, a welterweight moving up. i don't get you people at all. how can you discredit the hatton win all of a sudden even though hatton was undefeated, because he moved up, yet, floyd moved up five weight classes and dominated, and beat the wbc champions at that weight. many of you think castillo beat floyd, but in claiming this, should castillo not get credit for the win seeing how floyd was too small for him, or if gatti beat floyd when they fought, shoudl he not have gatton credit for it, seeing how floyd was too small for him, and i know he fought corley 1st and then brusselles, then gatti. anyway, my point is, how can yo discredit someone for fighting a person who moved up. it's not like hatton moved up from lightweight to fight floyd, he was a junior ww, and arguably bigger than floyd, and stronger than floyd, even though i would highly argue him being stronger than floyd.
roy jones fought at light heavyweight and then beat a heavyweight, had he lost, would john ruiz have been looked down on even though he fought a guy who hadn't lost legit, only to disqualification, and the p4p champion? i doubt he would have from you people, who seem to just hate on floyd because it's boring not to. you guys are hypocrites. so hopkins knocks out trinidad, and that win gets looked down on today(mainly because of the hate for floyd), because trinidad was too small, of this is how you guys look at this, then why watch boxing. hardly nobody complained at sugar ray robinson moving up, or sugary ray leonard moving up, or james toney moving up and defeating fighters at higher weight classes. you can argue that floyd belongs at 140, not 147, but because of his skill level, he can beat guys at higher weight classes, like sugar ray leonard and robinson did.
so, what if hatton did beat floyd? he would have been bumped up several notches on the p4p list, and would have been praised by many of you on here, but not because he beat a ww, because he beat a guy who's skill were the best in the sport, it's about skill level. every fighter can be beat, floyd included, and ricky hatton's size rivaled floyd's size, his skillset didn't though, and nobody who fought floyd's skillset ever rivaled floyd's. judah's was the only one closest to it, then de la hoya. cotto's skillset doesn't rival floyd's either, so when they fight and cotto is outclassed to the core, i hope you're satisfied.
no links to"all these threads" you talk about. get at me where you show me a majority of people doin what you claim.
Baldomir is no Glen Johnson. Her became the WW Champ when the division was weak. Everyone with any knowledge knows that. Judah is a GREAT win for ANYONE. A MINORITY was saying DLH and Hatton would win and humble PBF, stop talking like it was the world that was saying it. You guys ALWAYS, ALWAYS do that. you ALWAYS say shit like, "everybody said DLH was supposed to stop him" and then when i ask you guys to prove it, you disappear from the thread. Then I actually show polls showing PBF was the favorite by WIDE WIDE WIDE margins. You never come back to the thread at all. Stop with that victim bullshit already.there were shitloads of threads and posts claiming he would just like there were shitloads of posts about how judah would stop mayweather, and hatton's pressure would be too much for floyd to handle. now, i could go back right now and dig up countless posts about oscar. people discredit floyd's wins so much it's fucking pathetic, claiming he never fought a real welterweight, when judah and baldomir were at welterweight for years, and shane was too busy taking a vacation, floyd fought oscat at 154, and the sixe difference was apprant, but skill level was also that, yet, since floyd didn't fight tony, knowing he wanted to fight oscar his whole career, floyd is a duck right? you fucking people are sad. truly fucking sad. i remember when people were actually picking carlos to stop floyd, now those same little pukes probably changed their username and are now bashing his win against a guy who had a great year stopping gatti and although gatti was at the end of the road almost, gatti still put on a great performance prior to the knockout, but who cares right? it was gatti, and carlos beat judah, who was suppose to kill him. was it floyd's fault that it was so called a weak division at the time, which imo couldn't be any further from the truth, because clottey, mosley, margarito i could understand as being called weak, but nonetheless he was there, judah, cintron, baldomir(wbc champion by the way), quitana who was undefeated, and of course paul williams, and last but not least, the best of them all, floyd. so, i guess this weight class was weak until cotto moved up? hmmmm. hypocrites make me laugh at them.

"We arent fighting to prove to the fans who's the best" - Floyd Mayweather Jr. P4P#1
True statement a fighter fights to prove to THEMSELVES who is the best. The fans just get entertained by watching them fight.
FOr some reason all I can think now is...Boy did Williams fuck up...Paul Williams fucked his career up with that loss..it's like after the Marfarito - Cotto Fight...I guaran Damn tee that the winner will fight the winner of MOsley _ Judah...which IMO will lead to A COtto rematch with either Judah or MOsley before the year is up.
so Baldomir wasn't a welter? and Hatton wasn't? Judah?, so by ur logic Champions are journeymen? When he dismanteled baldomir for that title he was a journeyman?
when Judah was too fast for may he was a journeymen? when Hatton was gonna break him down with his body shots he was a journeymen? DLH would "humble" pbf he was a bum/journeymen?
hmmmm call me wacky....

U consider Hatton and Oscar WW's?
They are fight to prove to themself which one is the best that what fighters do
"We arent fighting to prove to the fans who's the best" - Floyd Mayweather Jr. P4P#1
Floyd took a shortcut to the top of the WW division by fighting and beating a journeyman. Now he's just sitting on his win, while the REAL fighters are actually getting in the ring and proving themselves. How is it that the WW champion isnt fighting any WW's? Doesnt that strike u as a bit strange?

I wouldn't call it unfair, in fact it is a blessing from the boxing Gods that this fight is actually happening. Without true warriors like Cotto and Margarito as well as countless of other fighters who have been stepping up to the plate in the last 2 years, the sport would have dug itself deeper into the grave as it was predicted by many critics.
Luckily we've been seeing better and bigger fights as of late, it seems like every week or so there is a fight that tops the other, it's incredible. Boxing is moving into the right direction despite of some roadblocks (Floyd for example :D) but really who needs Floyd? if he chooses not to fight any of the top welters then let him, I won't be paying to watch him fight anymore or could care less what he chooses to do or not to do, we don't need him. I'm sick of hating on the guy, there will be better fights out there for us fans to watch, don't sweat it.
Agreed 100%
"It seems unfair that these two prime, fearless prizefighters should now be required to further prove themselves by fighting one another, while Mayweather plays footsies with professional wrestlers and awaits the big money-grab that is his rematch with an undeserving, 35-year-old Oscar De La Hoya."
Bill Detloff.
The only thing unfair is that the magazine for whom Detloff writes and rants will continue to recognize Mayweather as THE welterweight champ, no matter how long he goes without fighting an actual welterweight.
As long as we've got Cotto v Tony we don't need Floyd. Him takin on the winner would make it official since he's the fuckin champ but if he don't wanna fight then the winner on July 26 is the new WW king.
Mayweather is P4P king now but he hasn't proved it properly in a very long time. Cotto-Marg winner will be his defining fight much like toney was for RJJ. If he fights and beats the winner then he should not be harrassed anymore but if he doesn't harrass him till he cries.
floyd calls himself P4P #1 fighter therefore he needs to back up his talk, otherwise what he's doing is fine. but if he is who he says he is, then he needs to do the right thing. everyone knows what that thing is
Umm Ok? It isn't "fair"? They are fighters, they fucking fight. It has nothing to do with "proving themselves" it has EVERYTHING to do with money, find a new quote that explains this more aptly.
That one went right over your head.
