Too hard for me, I know very little about amateur boxing.
Me too. Second I clicked I realized what I did. It's like the rematch and the first fight were the same thing in my mind.
Would have only been 4 out of 10 for me, anyway.
I did exactly the same thing :pat:
Juan Manuel Marquez. Technical brilliance, heart of a champion, come from behind career. Some says he is a sore loser but the fact that he refuses defeat explains his motivation and his greatness. Good dude and respectable father in everyday life.
Pernell Whitaker, just insanely versatile, could dismantle his opponents in whichever fashion he chose pretty much.
Great choice. I feel like it doesn't great the credit he deserves nowadays, often forgotten. In my opinion he is the greatest of the past 25 years.
One of my favourite is Fernando Montiel getting up after eating that monster left hook from Donaire even though he was stopped seconds later, it was pure badass survival instinct.
How by falling over and excessive holding???
The fights on youtube mate, the best shots were landed by froch in rounds 3 AND 8.
Dirrell best round was round 10 were he had a point rightfully deducted.
He also ducked illegally by showing the back of his head.
Only ray charles could have scored that to Dirrell...
Sorry I watched it in HD, not on youtube. Maybe this explains our different opinions about the fight ...
Alexander vs Matthysse.
Williams vs Lara
Malignaggi vs Diaz 1
Cloud vs Campillo
Alexander vs Kotelnik
Those popped off the top of my head. Some were close, but all of them were clear.
Damn I need to rewatch Diaz vs Malignaggi, as I thought Juan won but I totally agree with the other choices.
I think it's the worst FOTY I've seen. Good first half but way too much hlding in the second. Acosta vs Rios or Popramook vs Yaegashi were better fights imo.
Junior Jones fights against Evatt and Ingle were terrific. I love the McKinney fight too.
For Montiel I would say the fight against Melendez and Hasegawa.
For Johnson, I asked him on twitter months ago and he answerd me Salazar, Jimenez and Orozco. These are excellent bouts. The first fight against Marquez is worth watching anf scoring.
Mancini the two fights against Bramble are marvelous, and the tragic one against Kim. Alos the fights against Frias and Romero.
In Mohammedi's defense, back when he fought Cleverly he was only a part-time boxer and working another job. He only became a full-time fighter last year.
And he took the fight on a three days notice.
3. All the hanger-on types...specifically there's 2 guys that are twins in late 20's/early 30s and their father who they look a lot like...these 3 guys are affiliated with some promoter just can't recall who. Definition of a hanger on
Sam Watson and his sons (they are not twins). They work for Al Haymon.
