Why would he be broke? Has he bought too many cars, Patel Phillips watches, and porches?
Sell them then, voila money in bank again.
Is that some Indian knockoff?
He got hit, it was a delay reaction.
Wouldn't go that far. The jab barely made contact and he went straight to the corner to get wiped.
Either way should've been a KD for the knee or DQ for the corner bs.
Would have been the lamest 10-8 rd
But I guess lame is good :fing02:
And taking a knee for a timeout to wipe the Soul Glo from your face in the middle of a fight isn't lame?
Neither of those two have ever clinched as much, as blatantly, without actually fighting as Wlad has done. In Bhops scrapper fights, he's always gotten tons of stick from everyone too.
Wlad clinches more in one fight than Floyd has in his entire goddamn career. Floyd moves and sometimes clinches, but he's always punching, and using it for actual offense. Wlad literally does it for no reason. You remember when he ran in and before anything had happened at all, just clinched Povetkin? No punches thrown, no form of fighting at all... Just ran in and clinched first up.
Bhop has had some shocker fights, like Jones II, but got slammed for it. However, in his mid to late 30's he fought hard all fight and rarely clinched on any level remotely close to Wlad. He clinched more when he got to his mid to late 40's, but never as bad as a Wlad fight.
LOL, watch bhop's clinchfest against Calzaghe and then try writing that with a straight face. Bhop got most of his stick for headbutts, low blows, rabbit punches, faking injury/low blows and general phuckery, not for the clinching
As for floyd, well if you're so blind that you don't see it then i can't help you. Not only does he clinch but he throws elbows from the clinch.
3 wrongs do not make a right.
The point is consistency. If it's wrong for him to do it then it's also wrong for floyd/bhop/ward to do it. If the people crying about it here don't complain about those three then it's obvious their issue with Wlad has nothing to do with clinching.
I've always felt Roy Jones was the best but I find myself leaning towards Hopkins these days and think he might even overtake Jones if he does well on Saturday.
Joe Calzaghe was a good fighter but he doesnt really enter the equation with these two. I know he holds decisions over both but if they were in their prime they would have probably finised him in the 1st when they each had him down.
So when Hopkins wins it's cause he's good, but when someone beats him it's cause he's no longer in his prime? But how does that work if he's still beating people AFTER JC beat him? Tell me, who are the amazing fighters from his OWN weight class that he beat when he was in his prime that makes you think he would beat JC so easily?

Not just that he was born Welsh, but that he fought there too much as well. Last time I checked, the U.S. isn't some small country for local fighters, it covers half the continent. You wanna be an All-Time Great, it's your duty to go after the Great fighters in the U.S., not the other way around.
The B-Level Americans like Lacy and Manfredo sure went to Wales alright. They had no choice if they wanted a payday. But that doesn't mean that the A-Level American guys have to follow suit, for a homegrown, protected WBO Title Holder, who fought mismatched mandatory's that Frank Warren paid for, to prop him up. It was on him to come here and enhance his legacy.
And then there is his Boxing style. Fighting like a queer punching his way out of spiderwebs. The Yanks don't like that, and will booo their own if they're not aesthetically pleasing to watch.
At the end, he probably made the right choice, because had he comes sooner, and fought more than twice, he'd probably would've retired with a 44-4 type record.
If that was the case the Hopkins wouldn't have any fans and would be booed every fight cause he has the least aesthetically pleasing style I've ever seen. Joe may not have had power but at least he threw punches. Hopkins not only doesn't have power, but barely throws, constantly clinches and fakes injury every chance he gets. Watch the RJJ 2 fight and tell me he's aesthetically pleasing to watch. They shouldn't play music and keep the lights on to torture pow's, they should make them watch Hopkins fights a la clockwork orange. They'd get all the info they need in 1 day. Also, it's well documented that he tried to get fights against both Jones and Hop years earlier in the States but neither would fight him. Not saying they were scared, maybe there wasn't enough money in it or maybe it wasn't worth the risk, the point is he tried to get the fights stateside twice, so stop spreading the myth that he hid in Wales avoiding American fighters. And Lacy was supposed to be the next big thing when Joe destroyed him and that has nothing to do with where the fight took place.
i think theyre all great in ther own way
roy jones is roy jones and if you dont know how great he was you shouldnt be posting on this board
as much as people hate it calzaghe was a great fighter also
and hopkins just doesnt stop turning pages in history you could really argue that any one is greater than the other
imo if jones retired after the ruiz fight this wouldnt even be a serious question but what hs been done has been done
but if hopkins somehow wins this fight sat
(i dont think he will)
i would seriously have to give him the nod in this argument and might crack my top 10 ATG fighters
The only top 10 bernard should be in is dirtiest fighter of all time. It amazes me what short memories people have. His fight with Joe was one of the most shameful performances I've ever seen by a boxer. I'm surprised Joe was able to keep his cool with all the unsuccessful dirty tactics hopkins used. Constant holding, leading with his head, faking low blows, faking punches to the back of the head, throwing his own low blows...these are hopkins' legacy and you can see them all the JC fight along with many other of his fights. Agree about Roy though, he's easily the greatest of the three, he just stuck around too long. JC's main problem was that he was born Welsh and not Yank, otherwise he'd get a lot more credit and would've gotten the big fights a lot sooner.
How can you be so sure about that? He's a dope kickboxer but boxing is a different sport. He's not a very good boxer compared to pro boxers. He won't easily be a top 10 fighter. We don't even know about his stamina. I bet several rough journeymen will beat the crap out of him when he gets to that stage after knocking out some tomato cans. He's a natural aggressive man so he'll get hit a lot no matter how much he learn defense and we all know he doesn't have the best chin in the world.
I can see him get frustrated when he's up against someone he can't blast away and go crazy start kicking, acting a fool and get banned from the sport.
Based on his size and aggressiveness, I personally think if he tightens up his defense he could be top 10. I look at him compared to Wlad and the main difference is discipline and defense. They're the same height and almost the same size and both very athletic. Both have heavy hands and suspect chins. 10 years ago no one thought Wlad could become the dominant champ he is today because of his chin. Once Steward started to teach him defense and how to fight tall he became untouchable. Whether Hari can do the same remains to be seen, but the he's got the heavy hands, the size and athleticism so for me it definitely possible.
I don't like to compare Badr to Wlad because of the different in boxing skills. Badr doesn't have worldclass boxing skills. Wlad was an outstanding amateur boxer, he won the gold medal in the heavyweight division in the Olympics. It's not like Steward tought an ordinary boxer how to avoid getting caught. Badr is big, strong and aggressive but he will never be the boxer that Wlad is. I'm not going to write him off but I just don't see how he easily could be a top 10 fighter and all he has to do is learn defense and how to fight tall.
Like I said I wouldn't be surprised if Badr doesn't even beat tough journeymen who's been there done that but still far from worldclass. Boxing is a different ball game.
In just about any other era of boxing I would agree with you, but considering the state of the hw division right now, I think he could do well assuming he makes a few adjustments. How many world class heavyweights do you even think there are right now? Seriously, have you looked at some of the fighters in the top 10 right now? I don't want to insult anyone by naming names but it's a pretty sad state of affairs. If he has a good 10-12 fights in the next 3 years, he can start fighting the top guys before he's 30, which leaves him plenty of time since by today's standards 30 isn't that old. Obviously all this is dependent on how he transitions but his basic skills are not that far off from the average heavyweights out there. I'm not talking about K2 or even Haye or Peters, but the rest of the "top" guys in the division.

So you're putting up a video of him losing by ko as a 21 year old against a guy he beat a year later to prove what?
The good thing with him is he's a born fighter. It's in his blood. He's not a paycheck fighter like Floyd. He's also got more personality than the entire HW division put together, so he could bring some excitement to the division if he transitions smoothly. Other than the K2, there's few guys with his size and athleticism so I think it's a good thing for boxing if can be successful. He's like David Haye with balls.
Its strange how people say boxing is dead and yet people from UFC and other martial arts always want to come over to start boxing.
Everyone knows the real money is in boxing.
As much as people hate on the Klitschko's we don't need tools like this guy in our sport.
Taken from Wikipedia....
"Hari, who was generally known for his big mouth and slow ring entrance started some trash talk between them before the fight, making the hype even greater. Hari's long ring entrance took longer than the actual fight, where Hari was knocked out by Leko's trademark spinning back kick."
Actually, scratch that, I'd quite like to see Wlad knock out this guy! lol
He was 20 years old when that happened. Though he still has some growing up to do, he's nowhere near as bad as he used to be and his ring entrances are rather quick now. FYI he koed Leko in the rematch with a spinning hook kick that broke his jaw, here's the link:

If I were Dawson and I truly thought Hop didnt wanna fight...i'd offer a re-match...but no he denied it completly cause he knew he didnt want part...he needs to and prob will end up given the betls up...he didnt earn ****...and I saw nothing of him that impressed me..
I think refusing the rematch was more out of anger cause he believed Hopkins was faking. I think every one can agree that Dawson's anger after the fight was real.
