Anybody can learn technique, and learn how to throw a punch, not so much talking about them, but the heavy handed people, the one hitter quitter knockout artists. Imo, punchers are born. Of course they learned proper technique(for the most part) and that helps, but i think they were born with the ability and were naturally drawn to punching. Disagree? Personally, i feel like i was born a puncher. Ive always punched hard, power way above my weight, with both fists. With that said, ive been training/hitting a heavy bag since i was a young lad. I learned how to sit down on my punches and punch through a target, but still, i consider myself a natural born puncher. Thoughts?You punch like a girl

I think many undermine Manny's intellect because he speaks English funny or with an accent. But the truth is he is a very bright individual. Plus has the funds to not only have a promotional team but to buy the Suits to run it. :)That's actually the opposite of what I hear. I work with several filipinos that love Manny, but they all agree that he is not very intelligient. I asked them specifically, how he came off as a politician, whether he sounded knowledgeable or not, and they said he did sound very much like a simpleton. Basically, the best they could compare, is that he is kinda like one of our country, rednecky, type folks. This leads me to believe he's not too bright. When comparing speculatively skill match comparison it is fodder for the realtive ease with which Tyson matches cognitively with the smaller Mayweather. In light of this eveidence, it is perforatively clear that minimal risks associated with the conglomeration of punches would inevitably constitute a quick demise. One must remember that Tyson while diminishing attributes it is also clear that Mayweather takes the reiterations of former glory. Speed, while conducive to technique, will not overcome the skill leverage that is abundantly harnessed in the bigger Tyson. One must assess each fighter on the inept pontification of his/her latter combustibility or lose sight of the techniques that put them at the top of the food pyramid. Barring an unforseen avalanche of premonitory obfuscations it is prevalent that Tyson and Mayweather are boxers devoid of mentalities preventing skills and techniques good. Seriously people. Fans of Pac say Floyd cant dictate the rules. Fans of Floyd say Pac needs to take the tests. We're all grown here. Can't we just admit that Floyd made demands that were outside the normal testing procedures based on his hunches, and then agree that Pac refused which only added more fuel to the fire. Also, can we then not agree that despite the fact that he is "giving in to Floyd," that he should go ahead and test. For God's sake, its just a damn boxing match, and not too bad an idea. I dont care how big a fan you are. To get on here and actually defend your fighter for refusing to take tests that the other fighter will be taking too, and tests that coincidentally will clear a giant cloud over your fighter's head, is extremely myopic. Do I think Pac is juicing? Probably not. So why not take the test and put it to bed. Also, Floyd should lighten up and let a 7 day window be sufficient. It comes down to two grown ass men acting like little kids. The sooner we all take this stance and admit the both of them are borderline retarded considering the money and legacy at stake instead of blind allegiance the sooner we may be able to have rational discussions about this, and maybe even see a fight.

I agree. Wlad does have the right to rub it in. However, after accusing haye of childish antics and then putting up this video I think he has proven he is no different in that respect. In fact, I cant figure out why Wlad gets a pass and Haye was portrayed so negatively. As a Mayweather fan, I didn't expect to hear him say that. But part of the blame has to go to Pacquiao for declining Mayweather's 50/50 split and 14 day cutoff for the date of March 13th. If he decides to wait untill 2011, then his skills would be diminished by then and I know he's gonna regret it. Mayweather has aleady showed signs of slippage, so if he was ever gonna get in there against Paul Williams, Martinez or Pacquiao, he should have done this as soon as possible. Agreed. I am a huge mayweather fan and think he would beat pacquiao easily. But he was a bit slower of foot against mosley and not as sharp as he was against marquez even. This may all be a ploy to generate even more money in the future i suppose, which is still ridiculous, but he may be making a mistake, financially and legacy-wise. He is really pissing me off, especially as i have been telling anyone who would listen that this would be a done deal and little manny was about to get schooled. However, all that being said Pac vs Margarito is just silly. A few years ago it may have been a dangerous fight, but margs looked like crap in his last fight even taking into account the layoff. Mayweather has made my ignore list at the moment and i never thought that would happen. Pacquaio is also on it, so lets move on to some fighters that want to compete

I am so happy that someone finally decided to address this subject. Every day I show up on this site hoping someone will tackle the issue of drug testing and Floyd and Manny and who's ducking who and i am left disappointed. You sir, have made my day. It is refreshing to read something original, uncut, and unbiased. Let's hope others follow suit and we get some more posts about Floyd and Manny. I know you are joking. You have no doubt heard that they stopped testing 18 days out from the Mosley fight and have attempted to turn that into an eighteen day cutoff to make Pac look good in asking for a 14 day window, or a 21 day window, or a 3 day window(whatever he asked for, forgot at this point). The decision to stop the testing at 18 days out was explained thoroughly. It was stopped as they didnt figure they had anything to worry about, and it was also mentioned they didnt want to take any chances for injury. Thing is, Mosley and Floyd did not know the testing was over. They were under the impression they could still be tested at any time. That is what make the random testing such a deterrent. Please dont pretend as an adult that you can't understand something so simple. I know that you are just trolling to try to stir some people up, but there are better topics to do that with. So in conclusion, there was never an 18 day cutoff. They simply decided to stop at this RANDOM point. Did you see the word RANDOM in there. I'm not sure why im even trying at this point. Never like Khan myself. Talks too much for a fighter that has accomplished so little. However, I will give props where props are due. He fought a good fight and despite some scary moments deserved the win. This was against a limited slugger. For Roach and Khan himself to even delude themselves into thinking this guy could compete with the likes of Mayweather and Pacquiao shows a complete disconnect from reality. Pacquiao knocks him out without too much trouble based on what Maidana was able to accomplish, and Mayweather makes him look ridiculous. All I can see Khan doing is jumping in to throw what look like a bunch of pitty pat punches. They are fast but that is all, and that bodyshot he got on Maidana doesnt even touch May or Pac. When he jumps in to throw on May, he wont be there. And if he jumps in on Pac firepower will be returned. Khan, from every fight ive watched, is only good on those fighters that cover up everytime he jumps in. A counter puncher or someone willing to exchange will always give him fits. He aint that great, but a good win nonetheless. "survive"? What happened to the dominant show that Shiver promised? That Con would win every round and knock Maidana out in six?

Why is everyone and their mom coming out of the woodwork with the notion that Paul Williams needs to learn how to fight tall, or get some defense, or get a new trainer, etc. For as long as Williams has been in the spotlight all I've heard is that he's the most feared man in boxing. I personally never thought he was all that great, decent handspeed, porous defense, average power, great workrate, but average fighter that just happened to be freakishly tall. I never saw him as a threat to the truly elite, but a good boxer nonetheless. In the first fight with Martinez, williams got the nod, and hit Sergio quite a bit. I have not heard too much concerning Sergio's lack of fundamental defense, but for a guy that needs a new trainer, needs to learn to fight tall, needs better defense etc(Williams) he landed quite a few shots on Martinez and avoided enough of his to get the decision. Now, in the second fight williams got rocked. It was a great shot and it did come as a result of him having his hand down when throwing one of his sloppy hooks, but watch closely and you will see that Martinez also threw a hook of his own and also had his other hand down. If Williams had a shorter, sharper hook we could just as easily be having this conversation about Sergio. Fact of the matter is Williams got caught, and he will always be what he is, a good boxer with weaknesses that can be exploited by the right opponent. As far as Sergio, i think its the same, he is a good fighter with many flaws as well. i dont think either would fare too well with the likes of a Pacquiao or Mayweather. Just my opinion

he didn't really progress as well as he should have and even before Nov.20 I felt Williams needed better people in his corner and I feel the same about Devon Alexander. you see minor flaws in their style that an elite boxer would expose Sorry, didnt mean to get on you. I dont disagree that the sport should have some precautionary measures in place, at least for the best of the best as the money is to good that i believe it should be a level field. However, for Mayweather to demand testing for Pac and possibly prevent the fight from going through does piss me off. He is one of my favorite fighters but man its irritating to think that there is some fear there when we as fans dont see a reason for it. floyd is a defensive master and hes better at doing the shoulder roll more than anything else he does. the high guard wont work either for the reason that pacquiao throws punches from weird angles. let me ask you, who has the better high guard defense, clottey or mayweather? Pac doesnt throw from weird angles. He just punches like a freaking amateur. My brother just had his first amateur match last week, he learned some pointers on form in the gym and we practiced it for three weeks. He got in the ring, got excited, and started swinging haymakers. All the techniques we had practiced went out the window the minute he got hit and excited. I think if you saw him you would say he punches from weird angles. It's not like Pacquiao and Roach sit around and practice the lunging, half uppercut, almost hook, all arm weird ass stuff he does. Also, people always talk about his eight, nine, two thousand punch combos. When has this ever happened. Only to opponents that cover up and let him wail on them, or to fighters that try amateurishly to throw a bunch of punches with hime and end up getting caught as aforementioned due to his weird ass punching. Next tell me when has Mayweather ever been hit with a combination consisting of more than a few punches. You will say never, cause he's never fought a guy like Pacquiao, I say its because you throw a punch or two and hes out of range before you have a chance to try again. And he does this all night long, and I dont think Pacquiao will change that. Even with Marquez, who is much slower of foot it was usually jump in throw a punch or two, wait for Marquez to throw a punch or two, reset and try again. Where were all these combinations against the slower counter punching Marquez. And if Floyd realizes he doesn't have to fear Manny's power, which i dont believe he does, he may just walk him down. Either way I think he loses a semi-competitive fight perhaps. But dont pretend a weird angled punch is gonna save the day for the little high schooler cause i dont see it happening. In high school I too was scared of tests, I outgrew that as I got older.

watch these floyd fans defend his actions. you guys are shameless. I am one of the biggest floyd fans you will find. I just dont think any one at the moment can beat him. I have never posted here, but I have submitted a few responses that will attest to that. That being said I think may is being retarded. They are both huge draws and only together can they make the most. If youre in it for the money then its obvious who you need to be fighting. Also, im aware that floyd and manny can both make a lot of money fighting other opponents but for floyd it is more worrisome because he really is dependent on his 0, and he can only make good money at this time by fighting real dangerous fighters. If he cant fight pac, then he has to go after williams, martinez, etc. And a loss would probably severely affect his drawing power unless it was controversial and a rematch was needed. At this time I think only a fight with pac is worth the risk. For Pac the risks arent as great, he can lose to a bigger fighter like williams, foreman, even margarito and his status will not be nearly as damaged, he could even lose to mayweather as many suspect and still be ok. Not only that i dont think manny will be in the game much longer. Floyd, im youre boy, but man up and do the right thing. I am the first to say i think its an easy fight for mayweather but he is really starting to look bad, and to think I was rather hard on pac's refusal on blood tests until I realized it was just to save a little face, flex his ego, and let the fight build a little more.
