i usually dont post on here cuz the majority of threads are plain retarded, but this was a great analysis. definitely a fight that could have gone either way. thanks for the read
yeah the rocky movies were definitely entertaining. i havent seen undisputed, but after hearing about it on here, i'm pretty pumped to go see it! million dollar baby was a great film too... really sad though :puppy_dog
Fuck these virus infested nike.com ripoffs.
haha no doubt... i wasted a minute of my life actually scrolling through the page. definitely selling fake shit. apparently they're authentic and they make it clear that they're not rip offs.. but theres no way in hell you can sell somethings like tiffany dunks for $40 or any pair of jordans if they're real. authentic my ass!
Roach seems like he's a down to earth guy. I always enjoy reading interviews with him. And he seems honest; like he'd give you an honest answer if you asked him.
Great interview. Freddie's the nicest guy ever. I was lucky enough to meet him after the pacquiao marquez fight this past march, and the dude is so down to earth. I always felt confident for the boxer he stood behind.. Definitely one of the best trainers in the sport today
Manny Pacquiao- assasin
Evander Holyfield- earless
Oscar De la Hoya- crossdresser
Juan Manuel Marquez- crybaby
Floyd Mayweather- cocky
George Foreman- fat (haha)
yeah, cotto definitely has a way better chance at beating floyd.. i dont see floyd having a hard time with margarito at all.. Undefeated said it all. Cotto's a dangerous fight for anyone, and we all know PBF's a little scared even though he wont admit it
There's a difference in knockdowns.
From my limited knowledge in Boxing.
1.) A knockdown can be done if the person has a glass jaw. Does not necessarily mean he's done in the fight just that when hit in the right place with enough force that person with the glass jaw is going down.
DOES NOT MEAN THE FIGHT IS OVER. IT MANY CASES ITS FAR FROM OVER.
2.) Then there's the knockdown where its a TKO or close too enough. Meaning the person who just went down might not get back up because of the serious whooping coming down on him.
THAT's a REAL KNOCKDOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There's a difference my bandwagon friend.
And at the end of the day all that matters is that one fighter put the other on his ass. Sounds like someones just biased and discrediting pac for his kd's of JMM
Its a tough fight for both guys, you have a very good breakdown there of the problems pac will cause floyd. Though you missed out the problems that floyd will cause pac, I think floyd will actually hurt pac during the fight because he will be hit with punches that he won't see. He will definitely stop pac in his tracks in various parts of the fight, floyd's defence will also nulify many (not all) of pac's attacks. Floyd I think will also be very effective with his jab, probably the punch pac is most vulnerable to, and floyd will control the distance, and pacquiao will lunge in at times because of this and get countered. There is no one in the world better than floyd at controlling and measuring distance, and thats why he often hits fighters with shots that seem obvious, his speed also helps. Overall it is such a tough fight for both guys, I think it will be closely contested, neither guy has fought an athlete on the level of the other and that will definitely mean both guys will take punishment. I think it will go the full twelve rounds and be a close decision, I believe the cleaner work will come from floyd, but workrate and more shots thrown and landed by pacquiao, albeit less quality and clean. So it will be what you like more in the rounds...my 2 cents
very very good post. very non-biased. you did a great breakdown of both sides, and i enjoyed reading it unlike 99% of the opinions i read on here. like that one guy said somewhere above, this site needs posts from people like you :boxing:
hey man, i attended the pac/marquez 2 event in vegas and i have about three or four of the smaller 11x17 posters rolled up somewhere in my closet.. i was smart enough to take like seven haha no jokes!
haha, if manny does pull the upset against hoya, i wonder where all these shit talkers are gonna go and what they're gonna say to cover themselves up. Y'all know who you are ;)
i don't see mosley doing any better than he did last time they fought.. cotto definitely takes the second. especially coming after a loss, i see cotto coming back twice as strong. hang em up soon mosley, you've done us proud
Interestingly enough, i've been thinking about this since the marquez/casa fight. I definitely give marquez the credit he deserves for knocking casa out, but i see pac knocking him out MUCH earlier if they were to ever fight. In fact, judging by the way casa got ko'ed, i see pacquiao brutally knocking him out within 6..
"Hiding something" Dont care
"Stuttering" Dont care
Changing and contradicting why you wont take a test within seconds, care. Its not his English that bothers me its the very clear and understandable reasons he tried to give. Is he on roids? Dont think so... but that does change the fact that he could not give a clear answer on why he would not take the test.
im not talking bout his comprehendable english that YOU understand, but his own difficulty in completely understanding Kenny's english, therefore affecting his ability to properly answer his questions.
IDK, about Manny losing this fight.
If your cheekbone breaks against a pillow puncher, whats going to happen when you get hit by a power puncher?
I know Manny wont have as much power moving up, but c'mon He's got way more power than Forbes.
Now I know Oscar won every round against Forbes, but you have to remember that Forbes was inactive during the fight. When Forbes threw Forbes hit Oscar with THE CLEANEST punches of the night. Oscar just landed a ton of semi effective but flashy combos. I'm not saying Forbes won...he still lost badly but my point is that if Forbes were more active and talented he would have done some REAL damage to Oscars face even if he is a pillow puncher.
People keep saying that Oscar's going to KO Manny. But when was the last time Oscar has KO'd someone? He could'nt even KO Forbes.
well said brotha.. basically took the words right outta my mouth
lol @ those pics. real Jinkee-->
http://www.pep.ph/images/news/782fbb565.jpg
yep, that's his wife. the hottie in the 2 other pics that has "jinkee pacquiao" below it is supposed to be jinkee's sister or something like that. i ran into her at the casino at mandalay bay after the pac/marquez II fight, and she's hot as **** in person but a total bitch.
the fight's bringing in alotta controversy, and with controversy comes interest from the people.. it'll draw alotta attention to not so big boxing fans that know who delahoya is and whatnot, and i think thats one of the primary reasons why alotta people will be watching (including those that are "boycotting" the fight that post here.. you know who you are.). i think it'll be an exciting fight, and alotta outsiders will think so too.. i dont necesarilly think this fight alone will "save boxing", but i think it'll spark more interest towards those that dont follow the sport regularly.
I'm speaking on the De La Hoya-Pacquiao Fight (or lack there of)....
I recall not very long before the fight was announced it was a mob of angry true boxing fans who were outraged that something like this Bulls*hit was possibly being put together!
We all know that this fight is a travesty to boxing. De La Hoya could easily fight at Middleweight right now and is fighting a guy half his size. There are guys his size he could be fighting instead of a 115 pound blown up lightweight....
It shows how weak-minded people are and how weak boxing is in general. And I blame each and every one of you!
This was our opportunity in history to make a statement to that punk De La Hoya and the "Powers that be" that emphatically believes that you can feed anything (even sh*t) to a hungry person and they'll eat it!
How are any tickets selling for this fight? And I see so many boxing fans hyped about this fight. And even picking Manny Pac to win!
Are you freaking serious?
I am extremely disappointed! if this fight would've been boycotted like it should be think about the statement that would've made.
Instead all you gullible girls are buying into this crap....hook, line and sinker.
All you people who have cried and complained about boxing (how great fights are no longer made, boxing is not the same, how UFC and MMA is taking over, etc....).
Now you have yourself to blame!
dude, shut the f*ck up. dont even act like this is the first horrible matchup that boxing has ever seen. whether you like it or not, alot of people have drawn interest in this fight more because of the controversy, and not because they support the mismatch or whatever the hell you're crying about. and if anything, it's the events like these that bring in the big numbers for boxing ppv, so your attempt to draw people away from this fight is killing boxing more than this "mismatched fight" is. people are gonna watch it no matter what, and i can bet that you will too. boycott all you want, but it wont change shit.
We don't care if you given up boxing . Get your sorry ass off the forums if you have so we don't have to see your whining about giving up boxing on the front page .
HAHAHA! perfect response
I like your analysis but please answer me this honestly.. Has Mayweather improve or diminished since he fought Judah back in early 2006??? I seem to be a lot of "Pacquaio has improved since the JMM fight" even though the fight happened in 2008...
thanks man. i'm not saying that mayweather diminished.. but it's hard to say that he's improved due to his inactivity in the ring, while pacquiao has been picking off some of the bigger names in the sport in amazing fashion. mayweather's inactivity may be one of the largest factors that hinders his performance in the ring against pacquiao, but he didnt show too much ring rust against marquez so it's really hard to tell if he's improved greatly since his last fight. lets hope that this fight just happens so we can find out once and for al
Exactly.
And if you want to bring up old fights...Pac didn't ever slow down and got out boxed by Marquez in 24 rounds...
very true. i'm not taking anything away from mayweather, but just using zab as an example of a come forward aggressive fighter that gave him trouble. also, since the second marquez fight, pacquiao has greatly improved in almost every aspect of his game.. i dont see him throwing wildly and getting out of position catching hard shots like he did with marquez. marquez even fought pacquiao toe to toe on several occasions.. i dont see mayweather doing that unless he knows he has pacquiao finished; i see him picking punches all night long unless he wears pac down, which is still a big possibility. i definitely dont see him fighting toe to toe with pac and matching his punchrate, which doesnt seem to decline drastically as the rounds go on. lets see how well pacquiao holds up against someone superior to marquez, and how well mayweather holds up against someone with a strong, consistent attack. :boxing:
