In the first fight, before either of them were doing anything dirty, Marquez's frame looked slightly bigger than Manny's . If your going to call out Marquez for not being clean, you have to put Manny right there with him and his head looks like it's added some size over the years. One of the differences in the 4th fight was Marquez was putting everything into each punch, all his power shots had bad intentions. He changed his strategy and it worked IMO.
If the tape did scrape the eye it was dumb luck but Garcia winging shots low over & over was strategy. I'm suprised Weeks was such a ***** & didn't call anything until round 12, along with bull**** knockdown while Matthysse was stuck in ropes. The usually solid Weeks sucked and luck was on Garcia 's side
I noticed that also. Last one he fought was light fisted Donald Camarena 2007 or so. I agree , typically against a skilled southpaw you need a nice straight right or at least a diggin left hook to body or head and I know Paulie doesn't have that. He's a 1-2 guy w speed and the 2 doesn't have any pop so my initial thoughts were it's a bad style matchup for him. If the real Zab shows up he could be in trouble. IF
I mean seriously, how is Katsidis supposed to beat JMM? Both times the kid made an attempt to step up his game, he got beat up. And that was against the two guys that Marquez knocked out. Casamayor schooled him in the art of "ass whooping" and the Baby Bull outhussle him. Marquez has the skill and ability to do both. Should be entertaining while it lasts because Katsidis is too dumb to do anything to prevent the ass whooping he's about to receive; he'll walk into counter power shots all night. Marquez will reduce him to the class of the MMA striker, i.e., ineffective.
What an arrogant, unaccurate post. Schooled by Casa, watch that fight again where Katsidis took over the middle rounds and almost had Casa quit with great body shots when he knockded him down. Kats made an ambituous mistake and got caught by a great fighter. " Katsidis too dumb"....who the fukk are you?? You ever talk to Kats? I'm sure he's already amounted to more in life than you ever will. There was a much better way to get your point across than disrespecting someone like that behind a computer screen and keyboard. The boxing world needs more Katsidis types.
Picture this... RJ beats Calz and B-Hops beat Pavlick, its almost a guarantee that RJ then fights B-Hop... and if that happens, has there ever been a case where two guys fought a MAJOR fight against each other and then sixteen years later they meet up again in a rematch that comes in another MAJOR fight??
pretty impossible, as you know John, the sweet science is very much a young man's sport. Jones is shot central and Hops had to fake a low blow and give himself a 3 plus minute break since he was gassed against Zags. But hey, when they both lose, why can't they fight each other anyways. Fukkers will probably make it PPV but , because of the names and their excellent primes, people will pay.
Brock untested
Brock is horrible. I saw him struggle with Smith. Etienne's horrible defense and worse chin made Brock look a lot better than he is. McCline is going to have to fight worse than he ever has before if he plans on choking again.

McCline has at least beat a couple of decent fighters- can't say that Brock's beaten one yet- I lean McCline even though he's very unpolished. I haven't decided on the wager yet but God bless those offshore sportsbooks. 70% return YTD.
On the same token, a lot of Quintana's success is his ability to use angles and his slick southpaw stance against orthodox fighters, well he loses that advantage agains a freak southpaw like Williams. It's a nice thought, but Quintana doesn't have the physicality to take over against Williams, doesn't hit hard enough, etc. I thought Sharmba caught Williams with some bombs, right hook if I recall and Williams didn't even blink... that's a big problem for the Q and props to Q for taking this fight when many other Welters wouldn't think of it.
Calzaghe has too much size, experience, savvy, good looks, and power for that half-brain dead hick...
Half- brain dead hick.? Pavllik's the middleweight champ of the world- deal with it and has always spoken well and is now a millionaire, Ha--ha you miserable human being.
And you mention Zags good looks? Looks like boxingscene boards are polluted with a miserable Cockmaster, assuming your a dude, or maybe your not quite sure.
Lewis has always been a little bitch, just sitting on the sidelines while Holyfield-Bowe, Holyfield-Tyson pounded each other in their primes. Then Lewis sweeps in to fight smaller, shot fighters- that's why he struggles to crack the top 10 hvy of all time.
Buddy you should be coming off a stoppage loss lol. This fight lost its intrigue
Lost it's intrigue by Fury getting dropped and almost losing to someone in their first professional boxing match ? Albeit a good MMA stand up guy but still.
Neither of them are really solidified as no1 and 2 tbh. Both of them are coming off of controversial contentious wins, one vs the not particularly great Dubois and the other vs a guy making his boxing debut. They need to just get this **** over with ASAP before someone else comes and takes them out first.
I thought Usyk stopped Dubois ? Oh, the low blow. ? Camera angle after camera angle showed it was legit low. Not right in the ballsack but in the groin.
I like Soto karass but frankly he doesn't even look in the type of fighting shape he should be in. Maybe its time for a new trainer?
Doesn't the article say he just got a new trainer??? Joe Goosen
SK has never been Mr. Physique, even before fights he's been in great shape for.
Is Jones the real deal?
An interesting crossroads bout that Top Rank put together for tonight's Manny Pacquiao–Antonio Margarito pay-per-view undercard at Cowboys Stadium, will see Mexican brawler Jesus Soto Karass get what might be a final chance at glory against recently signed Top Rank contender Mike Jones, in a clash for Jones’ NABA/NABO welterweight title.
Jones was a bit lethargic and disappointing against Brusseles but seems to have rolled since. Soto Karass looks like a good choice of opponent at this stage. Probably his toughest opponent but he certainly can be outboxed. SK's only chance is mega pressure...
Your name is MexicanFistology. Of course you don’t like to hear a black man say he’s the best.
Someone always has to make it about race. I've been a Crawford fan but looks like he's adopting the most money, least risk career path and may end up with no career defining fight. MexicanFistology's not wrong. Brooks face has already been smashed in by GGG and Spence. Porter was at the end of his career and Spence already did him although Bud stopping him was still impressive. Now Bud's 35. I'd be shocked but thrilled if he took on Ennis or Ortiz. . .
Well isn't that brave of Hatton- wanting to get it on with an aging ex-featherweight. And the hit and hold man says no one can beat him at 140- yea bud, just take on Victor Ortiz, Mike Alvarado, even Bradley. Bunch of safety first money-focused frauds out there.
I'll take you up on your offer to call you a fool for thinking Evander has a shot against Valuev and no bigger fan of Holy than me back in his prime but it's nice folks like yourself who also thought Jones had a shot against Calzaghe that allows us sharper knives to pile up the Benjamins in the sport of boxing.
Um Crawford cleaned out JWW and WW. Letâs not forget that and he was Ring and multiple belt holder at LW.
Usyk imo is #1. Inoue 2. Crawford falls to 3 because of inactivity.
I think all 3 have huge accomplishments on their resumes that should be recognized and respected.
Boots Ennis? Shouldn't Crawford have taken him on to truly clean out 147 ?
If Pavlik wants to be considered a great middleweight then beating up on junior middleweights isn't enough. And who knows if he'll be able to even beat Martinez.
So was Hopkins beating on WELTERWEIGHTS (DLH, Trinidad) enough?
