It wasn't from a punch it was the wrist area on the right glove that hit Matthysse's eye when Garcia was flailing his arm trying to block a Lucas attack which swelled instantly. I remember seeing this video a couple days after the fight and while reading through the other thread didn't see any mention of this with people still insisting it was through accumilation.
It was dumb luck and one could argue whether or not it was legal considering it wasn't the fist area on the glove. Not saying it was an intentional foul but had it been stopped due to the swelling it should have gone to the cards not ruled a TKO.
Im sorry man, I cant sit back and listen to this anymore.
This is idiotic man,
So the f*ck what his eye was swollen!
This is BOXING not Hop Scotch, Not Jump rope, Not marbles.
This is BOXING, WAR, BATTLE!
Who gives a damn about his eye man, fight through it.
I saw a video on here where a boxer with a dangling dislocated arm KO a guy.
I so sick of all this "If this" of "If that", If you aunt had a d*ck she'd be your uncle. Enough already.
Here's an IF:
If Boxer A had any real skill he would have found a way to beat Boxer B.
I'm tired of all the excuses for why men who are making million dollar paydays aren't prepared or equipped with the skill/stamina/knowledge they need to win.
They lost, get over it. They should go back to the gym and work on a plan B, C, D and E to fully prepare themselves just in case any unfortunate event might present itself to them in the ring.
Hell even when Zab fought Floyd after he was starting to lose he tried doing the old Okey Doke http://youtu.be/IfPz7dA-S18?t=35m11s
This is true to a degree. Yea things happen in the ring and there is nothing that can be done. He did fight through it so I'm not sure what your point is there. The thread was made to show what a freak accident this was and not a calculated move like danny and his fans seem to think. You say that if he had any real skill he would have adjusted and won anyway but that is taking credit away from both garcia and matthysse. He did make adjustments to fight with one eye but its not easy, he was also in with a real good fighter in garcia and to completely adjust your game and still beat a top fighter is extremely difficult. Anyone that isn't a complete matthysse nuthugger that knows anything about boxing knows that all in all danny deserved to win the fight. But anyone that isn't a complete garcia nuthugger (everyone criticizes the matthysse fans but danny's fans are just as bad) knows that it was a close fight even with matthysse fighting most of it with one eye and not a complete beatdown like some people make it out to be. It's danny's decision bc he holds all the belts and won the fight but a rematch is definitely warranted. I'd love to see one and honestly unless he goes up to 147 I really don't see who else makes as much sense for either guy as them fighting eachother again
Nothing more than an example of "sh*t happens."
Unfortunate, but he still had his chances. Only thing that makes me angry is when people deny that the swelled eye changed the fight. Lucas lost 3 rounds and his scorecard lead because of that.
It's tough enough to win with two eyes, let alone one. The eye-swelling was a game changer. Matthysse controlled the early rounds, but Garcia started turning the fight around after the swelling. Coincidence? It was tough luck on Lucas's part, but it's a fight. Shit happens, indeed.

damn that's pretty clear. They definitely need a rematch. I would still favor Danny but only slightly, it will be very competitive
We never crawled out of anything. The world saw Garcia being a coward and cheating his way to a win. He was roided out, the judges were crooked, the tape blinded him. Bottom line is he's still undefeated.
Damn-you sound desperate! Garcia was being a coward and roided out....smfh@ that non-sense!
And look who they beat for those titles
Guerrero has no stand out wins. Karass ffs just beat both welters he beat in better fashion
Ortiz got spanked by Peterson then beat Berto (who hasn't?)
Canelo didn't beat anybody at all, his only win was Trout and that was a gift decision.
They're good wins at best but certainly not what you'd expect from a #1 p4p
Let me guess you'll justify Floyd fighting Khan too by saying he was a former two time world champion
It was Peterson who got a gift draw...Ortiz had put him down a few times and tried to go on the backfoot later on, costing him a draw...I still had Ortiz winning...
Yea i was terrified at the thought of Floyd fighting Matthysee....
 floyd haters eh hahaha Floyd its just in another level,
Mathysse its great dont get me wrong but he would be easy work, just another guy with power and everything else its just "good". To beat floyd you need to be a great all around boxer not just hope for a lucky bomb.
Oh! and i did like the video thats something i had not seen before, but still its a fight things like that happen, Danny won fair and square.
I wouldnt mind watching the rematch but if it doesnt happen i am cool with it.
Basically boxing is corrupt as fuck and Matthysse has never officially lost a fight. Floyd and Manny have been ducking him for years and I guarantee the cowards retire before facing the undefeated king of the jr Welters.
:lol1: :lol1:
You can't be serious, haha
Mosley, Cotto, and Canelo were more dangerous fighters than Matthysse. Matthysse, 5' 6" strong puncher AT 140, don't know sh-t about him at 147.
Even Guerrero was a better fight for Floyd than Matthysse.
The fact is Matthysse lost to Judah and Garcia. He doesn't belong in the same ring with Floyd.
got ya floyd fans.. same as manny doesn't belong in the same ring with him because JMM KTFO him while JMM was treated like an amateur by floyd..
you and your triangle theories.. :lol1:
No I am saying if Lucas had beat Garcia, Floyd would of ducked him. I am also saying even now hes a far better opponent than Khan or/& Ortiz and Guerrero was.
They're not top welters though. I don't care if Ring mag had them ranked #6 & #4 or whatever, they do it for everyone of Floyds opponents. Hell Khans in the top 10 yet hasn't even fought there lol
Didn't Ortiz only have 1 fight at welter against Berto's weak ass? Talk about being in the right place at the right time, no wonder Floyd jumped at that.
Guerrero beat Berto after his suspension and that little bum Aydin.
How does this qualify anybody as a top welterweight?
This is what Floyd does he waits around for a complete bum to luck out on a title and cherrypicks them, ignoring all the legit threats. You know this but will defend him to the death.
Will he fight Lara vs Trout winner? Will he hell he will go pick on A mere con.
Guerrero beat an undefeated Aydin for the interim belt. Aydin was the number one contender. That win made him Floyds mandatory. Guerrero beat Berto too, to help force a fight with Floyd. At that time, who else at Welterweight, other than Pacquiao, was a better fight than Guerrero?
You can't even mention Bradley, since Bradley ducked Guerrero. The articles are on Boxingscene.
Who else was better than Canelo at 154 lbs? Trout who Canelo just beat when he was undefeated? How is Trout or Lara a threat? Those would be considered cherrypicks too, as a win would mean little. Those guys are not monsters. Khan is easier than Lara or Trout, but all three fights are EASY fights. Khan is just the easiest of the easy.
Mosley, Cotto, and Canelo were more dangerous fighters than Matthysse. Matthysse, 5' 6" strong puncher AT 140, don't know sh-t about him at 147.

But amear con does? He got iced by a journeyman in Prescott and by Garcia and everyone else he has faced in the last year but he is going to get a crack at Floyd so please explain how?
Yea i was terrified at the thought of Floyd fighting Matthysee....
Nah larold you are just afraid of Floyd growing a pair and fighting PAC! Floyd is all about money and that fight will earn him easily $100 mil+ but for some reason he won't fight him. Hmmm
Back on topic I saw the machine get thumbed then the eye started to swell either way Danny fought a beautiful fight and I really doubt the machine can beat him
Yh lets no go on like Floyd would of taken the fight had Lucas beat Garcia. We all know he'd of gone on vacation or some sh*t
Love how much Floyd gets credit for other fighters handy work.
