I picked Zab by KO. I disagree with anyone saying Mayweather doesn't have any power. Gatti doesn't have a weak chin and can take some punishment and Mayweather stopped him pretty easily. I don't like Mayweather that much but he does have power and speed. This could be a make or break fight for him. I think Zab has been working very hard for this fight, I just hope he doesn't dissapoint me and lose this Jan. 7th fight. Plus his dad is training Mayorga so maybe there's been a little sparring going on with these two. I think this will be a very entertaining fight with Zab coming out on top in a 7th round KO
Bad idea, but it's a lose lose situation. If he doesn't take it people will say he is ducking a fight. If he wins who cares. C'mon now with the weight thing. What was it like a four pound weight difference. I hope Castillo comes in four pounds under and just lays it on Corrales with out this other fight interfering.
I dunno what to say to a kid with such a pitiful sig.
Depends on the combatants. I know that Roy is a smart fella who avoids street fights. Seeing how quick he is Mr. 'Rassler better take him down quick or take a count. Roy could outleg him if needed.
Jack Dempsey was a pudgy 46 yrs old when hounded and baited by a heavyweight 'rassler named Cowboy Luttrell. Dempsey was more than a boxer, he was a fighter and a gentleman, and later wrote a primer for self defense that is still used today by many martial arts schools. Luttrell 'rassled back in the day when the sport was legit and was at least 10-15 yrs younger. Dempsey finally had his fill, scheduled the match, and beat the crap out of him and KOed him in 2. Cowboy had to be taken to the hospital all busted up.
It's a moot point. You oughta make your sig a mute point before you meet your Dempsey.
Well sorry about your feelings, but that's me and I'm not changing. I've never been one to back down from what I believe. If you don't stand for something you'll fall for anything. I put that up because there has been a lot of people who won't trade conversation with me, but rather put down what I say so it's a quick reply without posting something back everytime. And you're probably right I probably will meet someone who might show me a thing or too about being too proud, but I never start anything I just back myself up and don't take any flack. But I won't feel bad about taken a whippin', because I didn't back down.
how is the boxer going to throw a punch while on the floor??
I'm not calling myself a boxer by no means. But I've sparred alot with this guy I was talking about. I've fought a wrestler before and I got a few punches while we were on our feet then he took me down with some wrestling shit. But while he was trying to get me wrapped up with some wrestling move I gave him two shots to the kidneys and one to the head. He moved enough to give me space to get back to my feet while he was still down and then I had the advantage of being on top and just dropping rights on him. So I think as long as you don't get your arms tied up your still in pretty good shape because they're not used to someone punching them to get out of whatever move they're trying.
Moussa
I'm going to reply on the basis of who is going to win this fight, not who is uglier. I think Moussa catches Hatton with some unorthadox shot late in the fight. Moussa KO in 10
I think Maussa will give Hatton a run for his money if not beat him. The fight with Vivian Harris was ugly at best. I think we'll get to see what Maussa is about in this one.
The puncher you put two boxers in the ring you get Jones vs. Tarver. I like both of the guys, but the last fight I wish I would have kept my fifty bucks.
I'm pretty sure Iron Mike would KO Tarver if he had a trainer that could focus Tyson, but who's willing to do it, and even if there willing to how would they do it. I just don't know if Mike has enough brain power to fight another fight. If he does fight Tarver: GOOD LUCK MIKE
Iron Mike from the list, but I really like Ricardo Mayorga that guy is something else to watch. He's just gotta take it easy on that macho stuff when he starts giving people free hits. Sure if he fights a bum thats cool and everybody get into it, but when you fight a figher with skill you can't give up free shots.
Go Zab. You have to love this guy. He fought and beat Spinks in his hometown for not even close to what Spinks made. He has his own line of wheels, and the guy is not above not fighting every two weeks.
Zab's amateur record was like 110-5 and as a pro he is 34-2 with one of those losses at the hands of Tzyu. He beat Mickey Ward who's known for his heart and punching power. I would say Zab is like Chad Johnson of the NFL not Terrel Owens. Sure he is confident, but I don't think he is classless. He is very entertaining to watch. And a point I've already made he beat Spinks in his home town for 1/10th the pay day. If he was as classless as you say he would have never taken that fight for 100,000 dollar pay day while Spinks made over a million
I'm trying to figure why vlad is being considered here. The guy's chin has been tested and it doesn't look pretty. He kind of catapulted Brewster into the whole mix of things by getting knocked out. I'm not sure he is in the top ten he just has one of the top ten recognizable names.
I think if the Lacy-Calzaghe fight gets any kind of publicity the winner of that one could come out a star. I think regardless Lacy will end up becoming a star because of his Olympic status. I also think PBF will become a star pretty soon. Boxing needs more publicity and more advertising. The MMA thing has really taken off especially with The Ultimate Fighter show. I think the contender helped out boxing a little bit, but none of those guys on the show are actually going to be contenders for championships. I think a good way to do it would to have a Heavyweight Tournament on Network television. I know it will never happen, but if it did it would help.
You don't think Mayweather is going to be superstar? That guy is practically all anyone talks about when boxing is mentioned were I'm from. And believe me boxing is not a big thing around here. I think we got like three gyms in my town, and one of them is just a family thing ran by a guy by the name Rev. Bresheers.
I don't think this would be a good fight. Maybe three or four years ago, but not now. DLH couldn't hang with the quick PBF. IMO floyd has got pretty good power also. I just don't see this one going past five hypothetically speaking.
Well I would say Floyd Mayweather, ok I will say Floyd Mayweather he's the best in his division, and right now the welterweight/jr. welterweight division is getting all the attention
Yeah, I thought he knew how to beat Taylor and potentially TKO/KO him but Hopkins reverted back to boxing.
I just dont see him trying to TKO/KO him and take the risk of getting hit back.
I get the same feeling about this fight as I did the last Tarver v. Jones. I wanted Jones to come out swinging but it didn't happen. I want Hopkins to come out swinging, but who knows. I know he usually fights a methodical fight, but I would like to see some action. Hopefully he learned from Jones and realized that a decision is not in his favor.
That's just the thing Roy won't be aggressive. He's fighting a skilled boxer in Tarver. He won't take chances a.) because Tarver has knocked him out before. b.) for some reason he thinks he can win by not taking the fight to him.
Well in 06' you got Lacy vs. Calzaghe. You got Brewster and Vlad part 2. maybe by the end of the year we may see Hatton and Mayweather or Hatton and Judah. Winky Wright will be fighting. There might be a heavyweight unification. I think '06 is going to be exciting.
I think you gotta throw Brewster in there if he has a big year in '06.Someone's gotta unify the heavyweights. Toney's been at it a while so I don't know it he's up for the next generation thing, but if Brewster gets a chance to unify then yeah he's gotta be in there. And also Jeff Lacy if he beats Calzaghe.
