I am not a biggot, but I was wondering if Oscar is actually a homo. I never saw those famous pictures of him until about 5 minutes ago. He was wearing a tutu, fishnet stockings,a wig and high heels, if that's not gay then I don't what is, LMFAO
The best answer to this question is in an Ed Wood movie, I forget the name but he describes the behavoir as fetishistic and not gay. Apparently there are some men who like to dress in woman's clothes, for Ed Wood it was agora sweaters lol. But he liked women.
no you dont know what your talking about crazy person everything he said is on vid what are you seeing get glasses then your lying saying he had good defense
freeeeeeeeeeench kiss my a hole troll. Repeat to make sure you understand.
One more reason to believe that Holyfield is becoming senile.
Comparing boxing with other sports is ridiculous because boxing is getting worse not better. Journeyman boxers today get run over by contenders, but in Joe Louis's time they could at least defend themselves reasonably well. The best heavyweight of the last ten years is obviously Lennox Lewis, but he never put in 12 hard rounds. What would he do if he had Rocky Marciano or Joe Frazier harrassing him round after round? Saying that Joe Louis is slow is really quite laughable. In his prime he knocked down opponent after opponent with his famous six inch punch. Would Holyfield be able to beat Joe Louis? Perhaps, but it is a style issue. Louis had a problem with good boxers like Holyfield who used a lot of lateral movement. That has NOTHING to do with any kind of modern superiority.
You have sense so I will dovetail off this post. People never learn... we have a guy (Usyk) who is really a cruiser at best (bone structure wise) and he is beating all these big guys And STILL the size queens persist. You tell them that there is more size to weight and nobody wants to listen. Yes, a fighter like the old timer Fitzzimons was a light weight below the waist, BUT had the upper body of a heavy weight, and a guy like Foreman and Liston were just big... did not matter what they weighed... Then you tell them to go watch an average opponent back in the days, watch all the things they could do compared to the average opponent these days. It is Obvious with this in mind that fighters were more skilled back then.
And finally... Louis was not slow, he was deliberate. Bck when you had 15 rounds punchers knew it was a numbers game: you would get a certain amount of chances to catch your guy, and Louis caught his guys!
So with all the proof there is about these topics people often enough, choose to stay ignorant. So be it.
It took Maidana 16 rounds before he landed one a good clear flush punch. First 12 rounds he missed tons of punches, TONS. Keep in mind, Floyd always get hit a little in fights. Guerrero landed, Mosley landed, Canelo landed, Cotto landed. But most of their punches do not. And that's what you are missing.
Dude if you don't think that Madianna touched Floyd up more than those other fights mentioned....then there is no sense arguing. Forget that one punch, Mayweather got touched up in that first Madianna fight. We could debte the reasons but not the results.
I saw someone mention how you never hear any other country's anthem changed as often as the American anthem. All these jackasses think they can change it to something better.
Ive heard it said that the spacing in the tune, which was based on an old bawdy tune sung in ale houses, is difficult. Apparently one can find oneself out of breath in junctions, so singers have to find a way to deal with that issue. But a well trained singer knows what to do...and practice makes perfect.
i only recall two, maybe three moments of success for pacquiao. you can generally view a contest in two ways: as a boxing match and as a fight. for the former the goal is to win rounds, for the latter the goal is to inflict damage. mayweather wins the boxing match and completely avoids the fight and therein lies his genius. he is the consummate pro boxer.
That is true....I lament the 15 round contest because it was a feather in the cap for the guy who needed to inflict damage to win. These 12 rounders the last rounds are about scoring, never about attrition.
Two or three moments of success is not bad. One has to consider that if we take all the rounds that really didn't mean much, each guy has a fairly limited horizon. There were many times in this fight where Floyd missed counters, where he threw jabs and Many was not there to be hit...Realistically I would say...and i have to watch the fight again, that if Manny had 3 moments of success Floyd may have had maybe 8 or so geniune times where he did something that affected Manny in a meaningful way. Neither guy looked beat up.
My point is that there are other ways of looking at a fight besides scoring. i don't think this was as dominant a performance as some do, with the caveat I have to watch it again!:boxing:
I just rewatched it again and it was a lot closer than I remember.
It's true Floyd stifled Pacquiao's offense, but he wasn't landing many punches cleanly himself. A lot of his jabs which I thought he was landing last night were actually on Pacquiao's gloves.
This fight is a nightmare to score because there are so few landed punches and the punches were thrown at such a frenetic pace it's hard to tell which landed and which didn't.
I'm going to have to watch it again, this is a fight you really have to dissect.
You rock....
Its so nice to see that someone actually watched the fight again as said, and had the balls to even modify their position....I happen to agree with you on this point. I find it hard to take seriously the notion that this was not a close fight where Floyd indeed won, but by a slim margin at best because....punches that ACTUALLY landed (not compush1t) show this to be the case. Manny did at times cut the ring off and tag Floyd...one poster said it best, "about 3to 4 times." And floyd did win many rounds that were somewhat irrelevant other than a scoring perspective...floyd also countered Manny and did catch him a few more times than he was caught.
In my estimation this fight was great because both guys had their moments. Then again, I find free streams!!! but the only fight I would have paid real money for? was the Tyson Douglas fight/
Its really sad to me that the judges had it so lopsided...Our two warring factions which I believe we are not allowed to mention but the pac fans and the floyd fans should both be confidant that this fight was not a boxing lesson. both guys had moments. There was a time in the fight where Pac hit Floyd twice with quick straight lefts and I thought he would knock him down after all...and there were so many rounds were Floyd controlled that space of engagement with a great jab and counter shots so beautifully....
I think this fight was closer than the judges had it imo.
I don't think he needs to. Maidana and Hatton are very dirty, aggressive fighters whose only chance to win was if they could get inside and work. Best way to deal with fighters like that is use your feet, stay on the outside and wrap them up. Hatton especially with that holding and hitting bull**** he always tries to pull. He moved more against Maidana 2, Hatton and even Guerrero because they can't deal with movement.
Pac is not an inside fighter so I really see no reason for Floyd to move and grab as much as he did in those fights. With Pac, the fighters who have had the most success have backed him up or caught him coming in. I expect to see Floyd mix it up and do a little bit of everything. Keep Manny at distance at the tip of his jab and his straight, smother him and wrestle inside, time him on his way in.
You don't make sense. Madiana did not win fighting Floyd inside, he actually chased Floyd from the center of the ring and touched him up against the ropes with wide punches that went around floyd's guard...watch the fight. He was also succesful with a jab in the middle of the ring, suprising some people, nothing dirty about it. Hatton had been destroyed by his management. Basically he was instructed to hold and hump, pretty much ever since the Zoo fight. Hatton could work inside but 'Floyd had the legs to evade, set and counter.
Mayweather is impossible to hit, Pacquiao is going to have to sell the farm to win. Looking for Money Mayweather to win by unanimous decision.
Thats simply not true. Madianna touched Floyd up good. Its because Floyd's legs are not the same. He could not move well enough to avoid Madianna. I only mention this point because even when we consider the facts there are so many scenerios that could result in this fight, most of them favoring Floyd.
Will Pac go bankrupt if he doesn't fight Floyd? How much taxes does he owe?
Floyd has once or twice spoken about Pac's financial status - does this give Floyd an even bigger advantage in negotiations?
Hate seeing fighters make so much money and then **** up.
Garantee ya....give it a few years and Manny and Floyd will indeed be fighting...over the same bones with a little meat on them out of the Popeye's chicken bin out back.
Denial is a mother...
Actually its a river in Egypt....yu know whats sadder than the people making excuses for Pac? Its the people trying to act like Floyd put on a dominant performance. Floyd won some rounds that were inactive, he won some rounds where he got the better of pac and he came on in the last rounds.....he deserved the win, but it was a close fight, Pac had his moments and so did Floyd. Floyd won but the score cards were outrageous.
And granted Pac didn't deal with the defeat well....the shoulder fiasco is embarrasing! But regarding the initial interview i have to wonder if his reaction would have been the same if the judges has scored the fight a little more realistically?
anyone wish they could just watch the fight without being so invested in it? Just watch the fight and hope it's good and not caring about the winner?
There are those here also...I picked a winner to be fair to the sample because it has been my experience in big fights that the boards usually get it right. But I am neither a ***** nor a packtard. It would be nice and balancing to see Manny pull it off, but hey!
Manny won that exchange. All Mayweather did was push, which is illegal in boxing.
To me it looks like neither guy hit the other clean. That first blow by floyd if it hit at all was behind the head because pac's glove is covering the target area, after that there is one shot pac throws but it doesn't appear to land, and even if it did from that angle who could tell?
I am really curious am i deluded? am I missing something? i mean that because I am searching for some parity on our perceptions regarding when one guy was succesful vs the other.
Keep watching. Maybe by the fourth time you can find a way to give it to Pacquiao
:lol1:
Hes far from the only one who feels this way. I have never shown myself to be squarely in either the Pac or May camp and I agree with him 100&. As a matter of fact there are photos showing at least a few instances where floyd got tagged. yes Floyd won but it was a close fight.
There is no contract. Pacquiao agreed to terms, but no way he signed an actual contract for that fight. The networks haven't even settled their part of it yet.
Exactly. There is nothing of value, or compromise that could act as consideration. Terms can be consideration but that would have to be stipulated.
Where's the rule book on how to behave for rich people? Did you write the book? 20 years from now.. Lmao stop living in the future and live in the moment. Floyd Mayweather is the hightest paid athlete for the last 3 years.. Apparently he can lose $15million and still be alright. His house is paid for.. And guess what, when he retires, he can make money as a trainer, promoter, analyst if he chooses. You can't even compare how Bill Gates or Warren Buffet lives to Mayweather, they spend and make millions more than Mayweather. Bill Gates mansion alone cost $64 million to build. If Mayweather built a $64 million house, you would talk **** about him. Are you going to wonder about Mayweather in your deathbed as well?
Actually there is a book, figuratively speaking for how rich people behave. one of their characteristics is not to waste dollars because they seem to know the value of letting dollars compound. And if you think mayweathr can stand to lose that 15 mil your nuts.
The sad part is that he may have been trying to turn this around by settling down with Ms. Jackson now she has messed him over. Also I doubt he can find a decent woman if strippers is were he goes to get them. I have dealt with people who have OCD and he definitely has it. He has mentioned before that if somebody beats his high score in a video game he cannot go to sleep until he beats there score. He has also mentioned that he cannot go to sleep unless he feels the entire house is clean and has called his maid at 1 am in the morning to return to clean the house again. It can be very difficult to get under control especially with all the enablers he has around him that will encourage his obsessive behavior. He likely gets rid of anybody that says otherwise. It is also very difficult to work for someone who has OCD. When Mayweather complains about Ellerbe does he mention the garbage undercard he put together for Mayham. No he mentions his family not sitting together and they fact that his light middleweight title was on the line. Another example, Errol Spence gave Mayweather a black eye while he was sparring. After the session Mayweather told him to get out of the gym and to never come back. He later calmed down and told him he could stop packing his belongings. It was a situation that he could not control so he could not handle it so he had to go to something that he could control, his property. He was able to calm down because he saw that he could control Spence that way which is why he was then able to allow his to say. He dates strippers because he feels that he can control them. Alot of people have OCD and are undiagnosed.
Compulsive neurotic behavoir, regardless of the specifics, is indeed very hard to control. As a matter of fact one definition of neurotic behavoir is when your compulsion controls you. Floyd definitely exhibits signs of neurotic behavoir. As you point out it is about control of the environment.
Floyd really hates Bob Arum because Arum attmempted to control him vis a vis his money. Floyd has a serious problem because his symptomology will not let him capitulate to Arum in any respect. Bob knows this and will not step aside to let this fight happen. You can see how fragile floyd is when he gets into conflicts with his father who wants to control a part of Floyd. Roger Mayweather has no conflict because he never tries to control Floyd.
Yeah, that's the only thing I really blame on Pacquiao. IMO he definitely wants this fight more than any other person directly involved but he doesn't put the pressure on Arum/Koncz. Instead he says everything is upto his promoter and that he is only a boxer. I wish he were more aggressive with them.
He may well be under the same mistaken impression that most posters seem to be under: A contract is not a set of terms that both guys sign their name to! A contract, which can be oral BTW....is when terms and conditions act as skin in the game and ensure that if the agreement is breached real losses will occur to both parties (or can be unilaterally). For example, if a venue is decided and booked. Arum could easily end the problem by putting the conditions allegedlly agreed to down, and pledging collaterial to be in effect upon Mayweather's signature. i have a hard time believing the networks could not figure out a way to do this.....If Arum did this it would be totally transparent and people in the know would know in a New York Minute if Floyd was going to do the fight or not. This could even be done orally.
Yeah. There you go.

No Adrian...No!!!
Watch the fight again
Put it in slow motion
turn off the commentators voice
Etc.. Etc...
and you will see Pac won the fight.
Nah, you don't need to watch the fight.
Just listen to the boooos and you will know who won the fight.
Actually I watched the fight again and have a winner. heres what you have to do: First take the television and turn it upside down. Then fill the bathtub up. Get in the tub take the tv and put it in the tub....When you get to where you are going ask God who won the fight.
Judah didn't just stand there, he got backed up. Mayweather is fairly strong and he understands the geometry of the ring. Judah did fight back but most of his offerings missed as Mayweather came forward, slipped and blocked behind his guard. And all the while, Mayweather continually worked his body. And he probably would've stopped him if not for the low blow.
Very true with one caveat: For the last five years or so everyone knows that Zab is a professional gatekeeper. You better be on your toes and the first rounds can be dangerous, but Zab never dissapoints and will inevitably fade. Mayweather knew this. Mayweather certainly did what he should have, and he did so skillfully, but me thinks Zab fades never the less.
Zab will always get fights and runs because he is the quinesential professional opponent, vis a vis gatekeeper.
This is exactly what I believe will happen. I could see one judge favoring Pac by a lot and one favoring Floyd by a lot and the third one more neutral or slightly to one side. And the fight will be looked at as if two different fights took place, one where Floyd outpointed Pac and the other where Pac threw the harder punches and the controversy will go on and on and a rematch will be set within a month from the ending of the fight. It could be a trilogy.
This is a REAL possability and probably what will happen. Im with you on that bandwagon.
How much are tickets to floyd v cotto 2 on May 2nd?
Well.....I will say this Big D.....Floyd Manny tickets, the cheapest of the cheap are more than I declared in earned income this year in my taxes:blackeye:
i had it 10-2 or 9-3. i'll score it again when it's repeated at 2pm. in some rounds mayweather didn't do much, but he still managed to do more than an utterly frustrated pacquiao. it was a supremely effective performance, but not the beautiful boxing that we used to see from the mayweather of old. he looked the same fighter to me as he did in the maidana rematch - a past-prime master who is still smart enough to win but not athletic enough to wow us any more. re. pacquiao, i don't take this performance as a sign that he has significantly physically deteriorated, just that he only looks great within a rather narrow range of circumstances; mayweather simply has his number and always has done.
A fight is not always about rounds...There were rounds in this fight where rounds were close because of inactivity where neither fighter did much. Part of boxing is winning these rounds but, its also good to look beyond the scoring. I saw a fight where both guys had some success and where neither guy was outclassed. Five years ago or before? Floyd would have made pac look like an amateur, always said as much.
After watching the fight for the five hundredth time...including 50 times in slow motion, 50 times backwards.... and after watching the fight upside down, with the volume turned way up, turned down....watching the fight with Uzbanistan commentary because they are not biased....I have come to this conclusion:
it was a boxing match.
My Round By Round Projections
1: 10-9 Mayweather
2. 10-9 Mayweather
3. 10-9 Pacquiao
4. 10-9 Mayweather
5. 10-9 Pacquiao
6. 10-9 Mayweather
7. 10-9 Mayweather
8. 10-9 Pacquiao
9. 10-9 Pacquiao
10. 10-9 Mayweather
11. 10-9 Mayweather
12. 10-9 Mayweather
116-112 Mayweather
Before I was thinking it was going to be 9-3, but I am going to be honest, Pacquiao should at most win 4 rounds in this fight, I have to give Manny the benefit of the doubt.
Round by round...are you insane!!?
Not that anyone cares but I am weighing in here. it would not be fair to my posting brothers (and sisters?) not to weigh in with a decision about who would take this fight. I am violating a couple of my sacred cows here:
a) Most times, on a major boxing website the majority gets it right....The majority is picking Mayweather by UD...that speaks a lot past the bluster and delusional loons!
b) Usually the story in boxing is not as interesting as the result: In baseball ANY team circa the advent of free agency can win...its all about momentum coming in. There are no legitmate underdogs in the baseball playoffs! And in football, while the good lord has blessed us with a few steller match ups...usually the superbowl winner can be picked!
c) The smart money is on Mayweather.
But heres what bugs the sh1t out of me!! EVERYBODY knows this is a close fight right? So naturally ANY advantage that can be had will be BIG!! My first question is does Vegas really know how the two camps went? I have my doubts. The weigh in looked to me like Mayweather had a bad camp. He looked shifty, uncertain and gaunt. pac looked great. Pac really appears to believe that Floyd will not be the burden that Cotto was (I don't care about the de la hoya fight frankly.
I am picking Manny because in this tight fight it appears that the first major advantage goes to Manny. I don't think Floyd is spooked I think he looks like he didn't have the preparation.
So I am offically saying this will go to pacquio why? because Pacquio believes and it looks like Pac had the better camp by a long shot.
Some of my fellow posters gave analysis about body language and the weigh in. Truth is most people really make jackwads of themselves trying to make these pronouncements but...I think the posters got it right! Indeed!! Floyd cannot appear to hide his apprehensions and he looks very apprehensive. pac does not. Its not the grin, its the entire way both guys carried themselves. In a close fight any advantage gained is large. 5 years ago I would not have cared if Floyed showed up crying....He wins it no problem. But I see a Madianna era Floyd showing up and if Madianna can get to him, well.... so does any one givr a hoot? haha
