Tito was very proud always showing love to his fellow boricua, and also a knockout artist never really see him get hurt with the exception when he got knockdown but he would brush it off and comeback.
Cotto on the other hand is quiet to himself, some people feel like he's arrogant. I heard rumors that he can be an ass but those are rumors so I can't say. Both are great fighters either way.
I'm tired of people exaggerating pac's punishment and overrating Cotto's power.
Like many other experts have said "Cotto is not a hard hitter, but an accumulative hitter" meaning he does damage with an accumulation of punches....he's not a KO hitter
Agree he's not a KO hitter, but it doesn't mean he don't hit hard. He's broken quite a few jaws left a lot of swollen faces and has broken down a lot of fighters through out his career. He does hit hard and he does it for 12 rounds. But he is no Trinidad.
Cotto but you know, Oscar didn't come to fight. He stood off Pac whereas Cotto went for him. Then Oscar quit and Cotto ran.
Hatton was the only guy to fight Pac like a man throughout, no running and no quitting and never a backward step, fight til knockout.
Yea bravo, bravo to Hatton for fighting a stupid fight too.
Just ignore that son of a bitch Talisayen I didn't know we had a ignore list. That's cool I don't have to read the ignorant shit from certain indiviuals such as Talisayen. HEY Talisayen"peeleft: you're blocked bitch.
another cunt hurt bitch...
Another Internet thug you guys are pathetic.
And I'm not agreeing with the allegations you Idiot. LOL what a moron.:poke::loser:
Catch weight sucks, But I have to agree people will forget about it like it never happened. I do believe though it does has its advantages and disadvantages if it didn't trainers or fighters wouldn't ask for it.
I would disagree. I think he is. The way Cotto has folded guys with body shots shows how much power he has.
Mosley has even gone on record saying he is a very strong hitter along with Clottey and QUintana. ALl bigger welters. Pacquiao must hit like a train
I don't disagree on the power Cotto has, the guy is very strong. But usually he needs to break his opponent down. Almost anyone can go down with a body shot if it lands right. And that was Cotto's specialty he just hasn't been successful with it as he's been in the past. What I'm saying is he doesn't have that one punch K.O that Trinidad has. But again he is a hard hitter.
It took you four days to make an excuse about the outcome of the fight last Saturday. I bet your cunt is still hurtin' and swollen from it.
fukk off and kill yourself
sore loser
Whats wrong with you? he just wants to know everyone's opinion. He's not accusing Manny of using.
Cotto showed a lot of heart and he knew brawling would get him into trouble so why stay in front of your opponent when you can box? but he couldn't adjust to Manny's style. Cotto is a warrior who's been through many wars and lost to a great fighter. I wanna see you get in the ring and go twelve rounds with either men I bet you wouldn't make it past the first. :boxing: Heck even Hatton is a warrior.
I think he's real close to it even though he lost last night. He's fought the best in his division. He lost to a great champ and to a cheating scum. He needs to make up with his uncle or get a new trainer, He's still young and has time to be on top again. There's plenty of other fights out there for him.
What do you idiots dont understand. The first 4 rounds Cotto was trying to get Pac out of there.. Then he started to just try to survive the rest of the fightNOT CARING ABOUT WINNING ANY MORE He just wanted not to get KO'd.. How is that being a warrior??? A warrior would have did everything in his power to win and not care about getting KO'd.. Cotto took no risk after round 4 and just danced around the ring throwing meaningless punches with no power behind it.. Cotto was scared of getting KOd and didnt believe in his skills and ran.. LOL @ that being Cottos style...Really? Are you stupid??
Cotto knew damn well he was behind on the scorecards and didnt even attempt to KO Pac... A warrior like Gatti would have at least tried
COTTO ISNT A WARRIOR....dummies
My friend the dummy here is you :haha: Cotto brawled with Manny all the way until the end of 7 Obviously Manny was superior in that department so Cotto decided to box by then Cotto was gassed by all the shots he took in round 6 and 7. Getting into the ring is always a risk let alone taking bombs to the head for 12 rounds by someone who is outclassing you. Cotto fought his heart out. Again can you do better? :boxing: These guys are beast and you are a Dumb ass.
Calling Cotto a warrior is disrespect to real warriors
I agree with this statement 100%!!!
Even DLH didn't run from Pac.
I'm sorry but in comparison to the warriors that have come before Cotto, I just don't feel he measures up to warrior status.
I feel he is a start boxer, but doesn't have the greatest resolve in the game.
DE la Hoya!!! LOL the same guy who avoided Margarito to fight a smaller man. The Guy who didn't fight back!!! c'mon I like De la hoya but he did not fight as you say "warrior" against Pacquiao.
He brawled in the middle of the ring for 4 rounds so he is a warrior??
Right.... What about the other 8 when he ran?? So he was a warrior for 4 rounds and a coward for 8 rounds... Do the math....
Actually he brawled with him until the ending of round 7. Which cost him two knockdowns almost three he was probably better boxing from the start or doing what he did in round one which was jab and counter.
First off congratulations to Manny. The man made me a believer, his speed, stamina, and power is incredible but Cotto can deal with that as he has before its Manny skills the volume punching and foot movement that gave the Philipines a great win especially after what they been through and they deserve this victory. As for Cotto he's still my favorite. I'm proud of him he hung in there and fought his heart out. I hope he considers changing trainers i feel he can still improve and become champion again. There are other fights out there so this is not the end, but if he retires i wont be mad he's been in many great wars.
I think the question is who has the better chin? Cotto hits Harder, Problem is Manny is a lot faster and throws like 1000 punches. Manny didn't get hit as much but his face was bruised a bit. Pacman was just more skilled but in my opinion Cotto is the stronger guy who couldn't keep up nor neutralize Manny's speed.
Seems like alot of boxers in the WW division don't have the gas needed to go twelve rounds. Cotto in the fight kinda reminded me of Judah who basically peters out after 6 rounds.
I don't think is a stamina issue Cotto just couldn't keep with the pace. Getting hit like that wears you down. He needs to adjust against fighters who are volume punchers guys that can take everything you throw at them and keep coming foward launching for 12 rounds straight. Cotto can go twelve with guys like Mosley, Judah, and even Clottey cause he's able to fight at his pace. But Pacquiao and Margarito's high pressure style Cotto needs to work on.
I still believe Cotto is stronger. Obviously Manny has power but the speed and punches you don't see coming can knock most people out, Along with pressure and stamina which does more damage.
wrong... in evangelista's interview he said that cotto getting aggressive in the 2nd round is cotto's M.O.
Face it Pull Counter nobody is gonna waste time with you. Except me if I'm bored.
Cotto definitely changed the initial plan and switched to exchange with Manny. That was a bad idea. He needed to box and not lower his guard. He was landing that jab beautifully. I mean, maybe he got caught up in the moment, but he payed for it dearly. I think if he kept distance and just stuck to boxing, he could have outboxed him.
To those saying that Manny was going to win anyway no matter what Cotto did, get a clue. That sounds very fanboy-like. It was a winnable fight for Cotto, but Manny imposed himself that night and stuck to his plan. Neither of them are invincible.
Your right and that's exactly what Roach meant about Cotto's habits. Cotto got to Comfortable and thought he can overpower Manny and he payed for it. He should of kept doing what he did in round 1 but shit happens when underestimate your opponent, Another thing Floyd is a natural defensive counter puncher so I can see him giving Manny problems. But I wouldn't count Manny out the guy is a beast.
even if cotto started running from round #1, he still would've lost... just look at the punch stats for rounds 7-12... all lopsided for pac.
Of course it was lopsided the guy had nothing to respond with, he got gassed by all the punches he took brawling with Manny in the first half which cost two knockdowns almost three which he never recovered. By then switching up to boxing was too little too late the fight should been stopped in the 8th or 9th. That's I always said chasing and brawling with Manny was stupid. It was just better to box a little and counter he probably still would of lost but it wouldn't be as bad as the pounding he took. He fought Manny's fight.
