I think he's real close to it even though he lost last night. He's fought the best in his division. He lost to a great champ and to a cheating scum. He needs to make up with his uncle or get a new trainer, He's still young and has time to be on top again. There's plenty of other fights out there for him.
**** yes he is. He fought the guys others avoid. Had he beat nobodies for years and mixed in only a good guy here and there then people would call him an amazing fighter. He just had the balls to fight top guys in damn near every fight. Sometimes you lose when you fight the best. He could have been 50-0 had he just cherry picked until he was 35.
He's not there yet. He does have some good names on his resume, but I think the fact that he won vacant belts and he lost his two biggest fights take some luster away.
Welterweight is deep and he may not have it anymore to get the top of the division. IMO he's too small for 154.
I think he may end up like Casamayor and Castillo and just fall a little short.
I think he falls just a little bit short right now, the win against Mosley was really really good but he fell short in 2 of his biggest fights, the fights against Margarito (suspect wraps or not) and the fight against Pacquiao, he was on the cusp before both fights. He still has time to get himself in though.
