I wouldn't be opposed to this fight at 160. Its dangerous for Crawford but he would make a lot of money and if he were to win it would go down as an all time great win. Crawford has close to a 4 inch reach advantage, faster hands, and faster feet.
I agree. I think Bud would take it if offered just because he’s probably bored. But really doesn’t make sense for Canelo to risk that type of fight at 160.
I’d be shocked if PAC and Spence fight. His team wouldn’t touch Crawford while they were at TR. I’m not sure why a few years later/older they would want to pursue Spence. His legacy is already cemented, why risk it? He gets $20 million just to beat up on guys like Broner.
Like most things in sports, its about matchup's. Tyson v Wilder is a horrible matchup do to length and height. Just is what it is. The fight wouldn't even be made if they were fighting in the same era.
Davis isn't going to last for long. Super undisciplined, looked way out of shape in his last fight. He moved up in weight and could barely make it. As soon as he fights an elite fighter it's going to be over.
You ain't never lie lemme be clear to add on to what your saying if pacman doesn't get robbed against horn would Crawford have a title right now let's be honest I'll answer no Crawford I like him but is built on beating bums and I'll say it again he wouldn't be able to take bombs from Spence Garcia pacman or even Shawn Porter all night and Porter isn't a hard puncher but he'll rough him up and wear him down all fight and Crawford had the audacity to say Spence and them needed him come on man he's delusional
Well he’s undefeated, unified at 140 and has a major title at 147. I mean... by your logic if all the PBC guys would just sleep him then why hasn’t Al gone and destroyed Bob’s crown jewel? That would make the most sense if it was as easy as you say.
It’ll be interesting to see how this all plays out. I wouldn’t be surprised if Manny tells Spence to go fight Bud first. He takes the winner. He knows he’s the top cash cow in the division.
We don't know what damage if any that Shawn Porter fight may have taken out of Erroll Spence, Jr. Rumor has it that he is been struggling to make the 147 lbs limit for years.
If Spence goes to 154 I think it’ll be interesting. I don’t think the division is super sexy right now, maybe him moving up changes that. And maybe it’s just me, but Spence seems big for 147 but small for 154. Lol.
Spence wants to fight fight Bud. Bud wants to fight Spence. They want to fight each other. Buds side is delusional thinking they are fighting the better WWs and are deserving of the A side. I dont care about anyone's "Eye Test" when it comes to Bud at WW. Anyone who thinks 1 is scared of the other is dumb.
TBH, Spence saying he’s the A side is equally as stupid. He just split a 50/50 purse w/ porter. Bud is a 3 division champion and at the top of p4p lists. When was the last time Spence stopped someone? He looked like he had cinder blocks on his feat in the Porter fight. I honestly think if Spence and old Al thought they could beat Crawford they would have done it, he’s Bobs crown jewel.
No guaranteed money AND no oversight on any of the financials? In a nutshell, PBC can’t back the fight financially and they need to keep Crawford’s cut low. Rumors have been swirling for awhile that they don’t have much cash. Time for Bud to move on from this fight.
This has been dragging on for too long. Al Haymon needs to give Team Crawford an ultimatum and a deadline. Crawford has to understand that he has no leverage at the bargaining table.
He is a man without a company backing him. This is not ESPN where he was earning $4M guaranteed contracts from the network. This is the PBC; A place where there are no guarantees but only percentages.
Therefore, if a fighter wants to increase their purse then they are going to have to be wiling to go out there and sell enough pay per views and tickets at the live gate in order to do so.
Fox sports and Showtime Championship boxing doesn't have nowhere near the type of budget to spend on boxing the way ESPN does. This is a brand new business model for Terence Crawford. Both Top Rank and ESPN have spoiled him.
None of this is the issue. Crawford is getting no guaranteed money. Only a percentage of the net PROFIT. That makes him an investor. He wants oversight and transparency on the financials because technically a percentage of all spending is his money. PBC won’t give him that, which looks really really shady. It’s basically a joke. They’re basically admitting they screw fighters over.
I totally get why an undefeated, 3 division champ and current 147 belt holder would want to accept a lower percentage than Danny Garcia. If you honestly think Spence wants to make this fight you need to get your head checked. The Spence vs Danny fight only did like 250k buys, this guy acts like he’s doing a million.
Guys there was definitely something suspect about this in the broadcast leading up to it, and I swear before the result was announced someone off mic said "...115-113 and STILL". I don't know about this.
Yeah I also heard the scores being read instantly after the bell and then we waited around 5 minutes. Kinda strange.
Can't wait for the purse bid for Crawford vs.Porter! Now that we know Wilder vs. Fury in October, and Canelo's is going on November 6, I expect Crawford vs. Porter in December! Hopefully we get Spence vs. Ugas early January!
I kinda doubt Spence is back before the summer 2022. Sounds like it could be a year.
If we don’t get Spence vs Crawford in 2021 I’m done with paying for any PBC or TR PPV’s at 147. I’ve got zero interest in the 147 carousel PBC is trying to sell us. Thurman, Garcia and Porter are good fighters, but not next level. I’ve really got zero interest in any of them at a PPV level going forward.
If the reporting on this is true, very real possibility this fight gets pushed back at the minimum. It's pretty clear that PAC's camp was courting multiple people at the same time, IF he went into some form of contract and accepted 3.3 million dollars there could be very real issues. It also wouldn't be solved by just paying the money back.
Imagine being a promoter that has one of the best boxers in the world. Then imagine that you’re losing money on his 3 million dollar minimum because you haven’t lined up ANY big fights for him. Then imagine blaming the fighter. Bob is absolutely insane.
I really wish people would read the articles. Espn article states Spence and Him are still negotiating. This is a tune up to get a fight in this year w/ the Spence fight targeting Q1 next year.
Boxing is all about matchups. Madrimov was super awkward and made the fight really difficult. Bud wants to catch and counter, couldn’t do that tonight but still got the win. It’s wild people saying “oh well he can’t move up”. This was for a belt. He won in the championship rounds. A good matchup should be close.
You can’t make up how horribly promoted and managed TR is. The fight is official, ESPN+ PPV, open up the app, not a single ad splash or story about it. Why announce it and not be able to buy it? Makes zero marketing sense.
Tim Bradley goes on a rant on ESPN calling out the PBC welterweights to fight Crawford.
Then when Shawn Porter responds Team Crawford bitches out and a guy like Chris Van Herdeen is suddenly in the picture. :lol1:
You should probably at least read the article before you respond. Also, we basically have zero public info on Porter and Crawford fighting.
I don’t think these are bad numbers for a Tuesday that they literally put no effort into promoting. This should have been everywhere, the first boxing in months, and it was crickets.
