because gay ass shit like MMA is incapable of killing it
Exactly, lol. Did anyone on here see the evans/rampage fight? Worse than any boxing match I've ever seen. It made Pac/Mosley look like a ****in war.
Ya he wayyyy thicker, and all around bigger. No doubt about that.
It's insane how much bigger he is. People said Cotto and Mosley were big, but I wonder if Berto and Ortiz are even bigger than they were.
he's a lot bigger there for sure but he looks like he weighs 160+ lbs, we'll see come friday, he'll still prolly be bigger but it won't be as dramatic a difference as it was in the vid
Yea he will be smaller on Friday but you can see how much bigger his frame is.
Isnt this EXACTLY what Flomo is doing? Going on vacations for 2 years at a time just to come back for 1 easy payday?
I think Pac is doing worse--who else should Floyd fight at welterweight, Pacquaio? Didn't we already try that?
Ortiz is the welterweight champ and top ranked in that division on everyone's list. Who is Marquez at welterweight?
http://i.imgur.com/AwG4K.jpg
i always thought ortiz was shorter for some reason
Ortiz is larger all the way around and by a significant margin. Not sure how he fights at welterweight--same for Berto.
I never seen that face off. Thanks. Green K
Hell yea, I'll take it where I can get it lol.
Yea I was at the website to pre-order the fight when I saw all that new material. There is quite a bit there.
have you ever seen JMM fight??thats how he fights all the time
No doubt lmao
It will look bad as it will taint the epic 2 fight legacy.
I see this third fight as a brutal knockout and will be used as Pacquiao was always the better fighter.
IMO would of been better if it was left as it is.
I just hate to see the legacy of Marquez being tainted this. Pisses me off.
did you guys forget that marquez is a warrior?
What has he been doing this whole time? Playing pattycakes?
He is older, not seriously active, and fighting super shredder. This isn't going to be the same.
First Vitali doesn't have to fight David Haye(thats the point of the argument), also Haye generates the cash so really Vitali is the one looking for the pay day.
Sure, he is looking for a payday. Has anyone really disputed that though?
There is no doubt that the guy that generates the most money in the heavyweight division is David Haye. What i find wrong is the Vitali wanting to fight Haye and pretending its personal.
Vitali wants to fight Haye because he wants that big payday and thats the end of the matter. It doesn't matter how good or bad David Haye is... he generates excitement and hug revenue.
James Toney's been calling the K bros everything under the sun, so why don't they give him a fight?
Vitali should just admit he wants a big payday and then retire rather than having us believe his revenge story!
Let's go ahead and start talking about the cock sucker David Haye looking for a pay day before we go after Vitali.
Tell me why. Out of who you mentioned, only Sergio deserves the accolades. Please elaborate.
Intuitively, I'd just base it on the last few years of activity. I think there is a tendency in boxing to keep people on these lists for too long. I'd say 2 years of awesome performances against excellent opponents. How you weigh those two variables is up to you.
For everyone to see..i promise..i'll do it live for all to enjoy..if Floyd loses i will blow my brains out live....................
Lmao this is hilarious. You think Ortiz is THAT bad? Buster Douglas odds?
so lets bet... if floyd wins impressively i win if not then you win.. lets say 10 million a piece?
Ok lets define impressively. we need some criteria. Whats ok with you?
sergio deserves number 1 nonito number 2 pac 3 may 4
This is one of the more reasonable things I've seen lately.
The question is: Who has looked amazing fighting the best?
This order sounds about right, although pac is only ahead of mayweather because of activity
oh i dont mean there arent any. there are but u can always tell the fake fans. there are plenty of bandwagoners on here all of a sudden.
The guys that go for a guy because they hate someone else lol. Or the guys that think their favorite fighters are invincible and hate them forever when they lose...it's ridiculous. Imagine if other athletes were held to these standards
im one of the biggest real ortiz fans on here. and none of these lame fans existed before the berto fight. there were very very few. and ive never been on a bandwagon in my life. spurs have always had dallas' number. but the spurs arent the spurs anymore. they are a team of senior citizens.
I'm about an hour away from where they play and I see your point, lol.
I used to feel like an outcast for going for Ortiz after he lost to Maidana, but I always liked him. Apparently a boxer isn't allowed to lose a competitive war with another fighter, or have psychological issues at the ripe old age of 22... Ortiz won just about every round of that fight before he lost--people forget that
Max: so what's next Floyd? who do you want next?
Floyd: well you know, i just wanna enjoy this victory for now...i dont wanna talk about what's next...that'll be up to Al Haymon and my team...
then he'll hint at taking another vacation or time off
right on the button
mannys gonna fight berto next unless ortiz loses then ortiz next.
This makes sense as well lol
Marquez is nearing the end of his boxing life. He's nearing 40 & was getting hurt at lightweight. If this is his last hooray, it is what it is. He won't win, he'll probably get stopped. But the man he's fighting is supposed to be the best fighter fighting, to those ignorant to what's really going on. Another bogus ppv, another againg legend blown through.
This is what needs to stop. Anyone with retirement on their mind can't be as hungry as someone still out to make an impression on the sport, and just because they have "bad blood" doesn't nullify the "I'm retiring soon" psychology.
I don't follow...
People that are that age with retirement on their mind just aren't going to fight the same, and it doesn't matter what sport or field you are talking about.
lol nor do i . . . perhaps he's trying to imply they are "fixing" the fight or something of that nature?
Everything I said above. Not fixing, just great matchmaking on Arums part.
1. easy payday? I dont know anyone more deserving of the pacquiao lottery than marquez
This is irrelevant as far as I'm concerned. Should Troy Aikmen get one last shot as QB for the Cowboys because he was a badass in 92?
2. marquez is already at retirable age, same for all fighters at their mid 30's, imho from age 30 they should be thinking/planning about/for retirement
Then Pacquaio needs to fight someone out to take his head off and really prove something. As far as Marquez is concerned he has already beaten Pacquiao, and a lot of people agree with him so it isn't like he has always been considered the guy that got his ass whooped.
3. what's wrong with buddy buddy? pac played some darts with hatton the koed him in 2
This i didn't know, lol.
it goes the way of the dinosaur. no sport will willingly submit itself to such expensive, revealing tests...half of all athletes are probably cheating and the guys runnin the sports know this. They only lose out to this. It's bad for them every way they look at it
Another fun thread to bump afterwards.
Oh come on man you know I like Floyd. I'm just sayin what we all know--his time is VERY near. No one can keep their reflexes forever.
wide decision or stoppage wether its tko or ko etc or fight stop on cuts caused by headbutt and floyd won most of the rounds. on floyds part. wide decision is 117 and higher.even 8 rounds to 4 is still a wide decision so 116 and higher.basically if ortiz wins more then 4 rounds you win.
If Ortiz can win 4 rounds, then Mayweather is slipping and his performance is NOT impressive. Mayweather must win 9 rounds or any numerical equivalent so knockdowns can be included. If Floyd stops him I'm impressed and you win the bet, but not due to accidental headbutt--not impressive. Going to the scorecards prematurely due to headbutts and the bets off.
How does this sound?
How old is Hopkins????with some fighters age really isnt a factor man...dedication,ring generalship and awareness goes along way
This is true but Floyd does seem to have aged physically a little. Hopkins still looks good and he doesnt eat like **** either--his diet is disciplined. no mountain dew for hopkins.
Well Floyd hasnt taken any real punishment man and most of his gift is mental, the man can think on the go..thats what seperates fighters like him and hopkins from fighters who rely on physical gifts....boxing is a thinking mans sport in the long run..some fighters are physical freaks but they usually dont have long runs
It's not that he can't keep winning but the odds will go down with time. We will know a lot after Saturday night. I hope he hasn't aged because I want him and Pac to have an awesome fight
This is a good question and I'm glad someone finally asked it. Too often on these threads I see that people fail to acknowledge that someone has great talent simply because their resumes are lacking. On the flip side, I see people looking at only skill and never resume. They are about 50/50. I'm not sure why it is so hard for someone to acknowledge that someone has great speed, power, skill, or whatever, just because they haven't had the best fights. A lack of a resume doesn't change reality. At the same time, we can't say that so and so in the olympics who looks awesome is better than a professional fighter that has been going for 10+ years, no matter how good he looks. I don't know man....Tough one
