Cuz Floyd is not quite on the level of the P4P king Manny Pacquiao. I think Floyd needs a very impressive win over Sugar Shane to warrant 50/50 versus the Pacman.
i think not mayweather doubled pacquiao in ppv with marquez 300k more vs hatton and 800k more against de la hoya. You should check your facts pacquiao is an exciting fighter but p4p mayweather is better. the only way it should be even close to 50/50 is if pacquiao agrees to testing if not 66/33 the other way.
Im talking about fighters that you know of that DO NOT look like they should fight at that weight because of muscle mass. Or fighters that make you go "How the phuk does he make weight?"

there is a few reasons why De La Hoya vs Mayweather did better than Pacquiao.. and it's not because of popularity.
1) People thought that De La Hoya was back.. he looked good against a decent opponent in Mayorga.
2) Mayweather got to him first.. after Mayweather people knew that De La Hoya didnt have it in him.
3) the economy was much better at the time.
would Manny have been in the welterweight division at the time and gotten to him first the PPV results wouldve been the same or higher.
Without a doubt Pacquiao is the most popular star though.. I can't go to the mall without seeing Pacquiao clothing, Pacquiao advertisements in shoe stores, etc.
He is also sponsored by just about everybody.. Mayweather, not so much.. who other than AT&T?

Well the Marquez PAC fight was in the same economic climate as the mayweather Marquez and it did a little more than doubled it in ppv numbers. So it works both ways. But mayweather is a bigger draw not even close.

2J MM was able to hit manny at will, manny is not floyd mayweather. Cotto can be elusive as well.
3 Manny isnt that good of a boxer he relies on speed and is an in and out fighter. Cotto is more fundamentaly sound, and if manny backs up it wont be good for him because Cotto will corner and punish him.
4 Cotto wont need to wrestle Manny we all saw how good that worked when Hatton tried it
5 If they go toe to toe Manny wont last 3, pretty dumb to say it would favor Manny
6 Cotto loves wars and always wins them unless plaster of paris is involved

And? He is allowed to call in for tests, if he suspects that Pacquiao is on roids. Manny did accept the test as a whole, but wouldn't even accept 14 days without testing. So Manny Pacquiao is the reason this fight didn't happen.
Nothing else need be said but pacquiao was lucky to get 50-50 deal when mayweather doubled him in ppv buys against the same opponent. (1.1 million vs. .5 million) the testing is the reason why mayweather agreed to even money.
I am huge cotto fan I have seen every televised fight from his pro career. The two pounds will not make a dIffrence as long as he rehydrated after the weigh in all he would have to do is run a tad bit more. The only problem with the fight is that it was agreed as 145 non title match so if PAC wants the belt now it should be at 147.

Congrats to pacquiao. I am a puertorican who was rooting for cotto and the thing that surprised me was that the speed didn't bother miguel it was the power. I thought cotto would have been bigger but manny has filled in just fine.

it is a huge difference in body size about 12 pounds or a bit more. It is even more of a difference because they are about the same height so you will be able to tell. Cotto puts on about 10% more weight on after the weigh in while pacman weighs about 148. cotto-160/pacman 148

Actually no watch the replay again. It says the weigh in weight not fight night weight. Cotto on fight night ways 159lbs. Just look at all of his welterweight fights so its not a few pounds it is over ten pounds.
