Amateur scoring sucks balls, that's why some guys who had poorer amateur records or lost to certain guys as amateurs come back and have better careers, and beat those same guys at the professional level.
I could point out things to you that you could definitely work on but i'm reallyjust a net stranger to you,and i really believe that what trainers, other fighters and most importantly in the end, yourself should watch that fight and know your flaws and wut u need to work on.
Keep the passion bro and good luck!
Exactly :boxing:
Like Danny Garcia beating Matthysse is better than Ruslan Provodnikov beating Alvarado for a belt
Funny tho the better fight was Provodnik vs Alvarado. So if your ranking fighters cuz of wins or bcuz of performance its still an individual choice right?
Who determines where fighters get ranked really, governing bodies, they are made up of individuals. In the end usually one individual gets to make the choice and thats where rankings on paper come about, and thats why rankings can be at times off.
Rankings are just numbers arent they, who counts how many times their hearts skip a beat when their hearts are racing?
One of the most entertaining fighters of all time Arturo Gatti fought Joe Hutchinson at the Molson Centre in Montreal before aswell, but was not one of his most memorable performances.
He's no Muhammad Ali,Rocky Marciano,Joe Frazier,George Foreman,Archie Moore,Jake LaMotta,Sugar Ray Robinson,Roberto Duran,Mike Tyson etc...
He's the greatest welterweight/ little middleweight boxer of the era plain and simple. Don't forget what he really is first and foremost ppl,hes a great faker.
He chooses to be the villain. He gives off an ego of self centeredness and supreme arrogance. He doesn't appeal to the blue collar and everyday ppl of the world, because of his i'm so untouchable persona.
Basically he's not a real, everyday humble type of person and so because of this lack of realness he'll never be one of my favorites in terms of who would i wanna chat with and shake hands first in a room full of boxing greats.
He's not the peoples champ and basically that"s why but you cant deny his skills.
Well personally i dont believe you but i would say i got hit with a baseball in the face playin catch or sumthin, that way you could go to the doctor and still not get crapped on too bad by your parents.
Fighting and getting hurt go together hand and hand so if you cant risk geting hurt than dont fight.
You must have begun to watch boxing in 2010...
Go watch Floyd-Augustus or Floyd-Castillo and come back later.
Thanks
2010 no, early nineteen eighties and you must be an enlisted man not a vet.
A boxing warrior is a warrior of attrition and doesn't that mean to experience the true hardships of a fight and dog it out no matter what?
My answer is no he is not a warrior,he is not experienced at all in that one area cause he has never truly been there and done that,so to speak.
He is a great boxer but he is not a great boxer warrior.
There is quite a difference in a enlisted man and a veteran. One hasnt experienced the really bad lucky him and one has,no matter what they are very different.
Floyd is a supremely skilled enlisted man but he is not a veteran of ring warfare just yet.
End of story.
1) Mayweather
2) Ward
3) Bradley
I am not putting martinez up there no way lol in fact i would much rather say someone who always goes out and fights a hard fight and brings lots of entertainment and excitement and makes me smile from ear to ear after the fight is over.
P4P 1 AND 2 ARE ALL THAT REALLY MATTERS,NOBOBDY CARES ABOUT WHOSE THIRD ANYWAYS SO I WOULD RATHER GIVE MY 3RD PICK TO A FIGHTER WHO BRINGS ME LOTS OF ENTERTAINMENT AND GIVES HIS ALL MAKES ME FEEL LIKE I GET MY MONEYS WORTH EVERYTIME I SEE HIM FIGHT!
So for #3 i could have put Maidana,Matthyse,Alvorado,Garcia,Khan or Marquez lol i dont care i know about the rankings but in my mind Martinez is not a great fighter,i hate his back pedalling, chicken foot, pitty patter style of fighting,he's a glorified tennis player in my opinion. Just a smaller and gayer version of Joe Calzaghe!
if you think he's a great fighter your retarded. I wish we could go back in time and put Martinez in the ring with Marciano,he was only a small haevyweight by those days standard 5'11 180 lbs about the same size as jr lol let him and martinez fight at a catchweight and see martinez get put to sleep!
i miss the days of the great heavyweights, no matter how good these little guys are they are still just little men. An old saying in boxing is a good big man will always beat a good little man. So put may,or ward or martinez in the ring with a guy like lennox lewis or holyfield or tyson or jack dempsey for that matter and watch your so called great P4P little man get thrown and battered around the ring like a lil woman lol :)
OF MICE AND MEN,THAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THESE LITTLE GUYS AND BIG GUYS APART FROM THE LITTLE GUYS GREAT SKILLS THEY DONT HAVE THE SIZE WHICH IS ALL THE MAJOR DIFFERENCE BETWEEN BEING THE FLY OR THE SWATTER.
Mayweather = Fly
Lewis = Fly Swatter
REAL TALK
didnt maida and matthyse fight twice b4 to see who would represent the agentininian team and maidana won both fights? would be interesting to see how it would pan out now in the pros tho.
^ this exactly, some guys take it better because of their features, provonikov has those high cheekbones they look like they'll swell up easily i like to say his face is built frail like a china doll, but he has a good chin.
Ali said that was whay his face never gor really cut up or busted too bad in all his big wars cuz he had an oval face and smooth features.
Guys with pointy boney features that stick out alot bust up worse than guys that dont have those for the most part.
i think its pathetic, kids in the world are ****ing starving and he's wasting his money on a bunch of used up strippers trying to be a big man and act like a boss, the only thing he has going for him is the cash ,id have more respect for him if i heard he donated 15gs to an spca or sumthin. I love how he needs to have a bunch of actual big guys around him as security bcuz actin like this without it he'd get punked robbed n maybe killed in the wrong place by himself.
Just shows you can be a champion in the ring sometimes but outside one still a chump,he's just a chump with money.
yall jeaulos cuz he gettin money n he chillen with Floyd
dat boi he yung doe, let dude do his thang why yall hatin[/QUOTE
im just sayin how i feel about it,i dont care if ya think im hatin on him,cuz that isnt what its about.
If i was hatin on him i would have said i hope that strippers snatch he licked had the herps or sumthin lol and that she gave him something to remember her by when he cancels his next fight bcuz of a coldsore on his face :)
I think hes done all he needs to do,as he'd said b4 he cemented his legacy and now he doesnt have the desire for it,to be honest any young heavyweight with talent on any given night could give lennox problems cuz he lost that drive.
he got lots of money, his health is good,he still has his faculties. I dont wan him to come back,he went out the right way,a very intelligent warrior
No doubt the heavyweight division is lackluster now with him gone but id rather it be lackluster with him gone than him come back when he doesnt have to.
But i do agree a lennox with desire and in good health if he wanted to he could be the undisputed heavyweight champion again but he honestly doesnt need to be.
Corrie Sanders losing to Vitali Klitschko. Sanders had his moments and if he was lucky enuff to alnd the big left he could of ko'd vitali just like he did wlad but he took a horrendous beating and never went down,Sanders could punch like a mule and showed a ton of heart that nite! RIP Mr,Sanders!
Also Mike Tyson losing to Danny Williams was good .
And tyson losing to Lewis was entertaining aswell.
Too many notable fights just in heavyweight in the last 10 years to mention alone,Wlad vs Peter for example and many more.
I want to see Valuev in MMA
Isn't his son Stephan the skyscraper Struve lol he's just a younger, skinnier and hairless version of his father really? lmao
He retired after the 'fight' with David Haye. Vitali wanted to fight him but Don King put a stop to it and Valuev has retired.
He spends his days exploring now and went on an expedition to try find Bigfoot, lol no joke!
lol that is absolute hilarity. So far out there it has to be the truth, trying to find one of his long lost relatives no doubt hahaha. Thanks for the info. :)
the russian guy denis lebedev with the cleft lip who ko'd jones jr was way more scary! actually thought roy was dead,he's been brutally ko'd a cpl times but that to me was worse than the johnson ko and way worse than pac ko,pac getting ko'd like that was just very very unexpected.
Keith Thurman is def one of them and should be on your list.
P4P Donaire and Golovkin are very big punchers but heavyweights will always be the hardest hitters. IMO Wilder isn't the hardest heavyweight puncher but because he is so long he generates alot of power from the leverage he gets on his right hand.
Gamboa is a big puncher aswell and he isn't on your list?
And neither is Matthyse,or Maidana who are both very big punchers aswell as Chavez Jr?
The NSB poster who said David Rodriguez has a valid point as far as ko's in the first goes tho.
Huh? I said puts on the best fights, not who has the best fighters. And there are alot of guys in strikeforce who could not only give the top ufc fighters a run for their money but also beat them, especially in the heavyweight division....
good luck with that it's a great dream! I wanted to be that when i was younger too but i got in a car accident and had to quit boxing for 2 years unfortunately, and i lost sight of my dream. If you still love boxing as much as you get older and keep training hard, anything is possible!
Im talking top fighters there not poor at all.
well than they wear grant bcuz that's what they prefer or when they weren't making lots they signed a contract to wear them for wutever.
The type of gloves isn't that big a deal anyways, unless your a big puncher than alot of guys like Reyes or if they want more protective gloves for busted hands they wear Grant. It's just politics and preference really....
it's all about money kid, boxers choose wut type of gloves they like to use but if grants willing to pay more to a fighter to wear their gloves than let's say everlast than they'll wear grant. Boxers are usually poor for the most part remember.
yeh just remember that nothing good in life comes easy! Are you a big kid now, that will help,so as you grow up and fill out more you have the natural size and frame to fight as a heavy.
Yeah well lots of kids your age don't appreciate the sweet science, they think it's just two guys throwing punches at each other.
So they go with what they see that's more mainstream, like UFC and WWE! Consider yourself to be among the select few teenagers who actually like what most kids don't understand.
Strikeforce puts on way better fights than UFC but it's no where's near as popular. That should tell you something right there...
