I feel sometime besides on TV im like the only kid that boxes nobody i go to school with or chill with even cares about boxing.
I remember writing a paper about boxing and after I was done my teacher was like i stopped Watching boxing after 1988 and then everbody was like you should become a UFC fighter it made me sick to my stomach.
Another day there was this party and my boy was like a man are you going i was like heck no Mayweather/Mosley fight tonight and im ordering it you want to come over and watch he was like who is mayweather and mosley left me in shock.
Boxing has fallen off thats a shame we need a fighter that is a Heavyweight and knocks people out to get boxing back mainstream.
There.s just so many fags around these days that get off on watching 2 sweaty guys lie on the ground and dry hump each other and are terrified by seeing 2 men actually fight.
Thats why UFC is popular.
I think boxing is doing alright at this moment. The thing is boxing will never completely go sport fans can never get rid of that excitement once the big fight is coming up its pretty cool
Another thing they way I dont like how boxing has changed why are Heavyweights wearing grant gloves what happened to old fashion everlast.

everlast in a HW fight
Thing with boxing to show a PPV at a bar or something they have to pay alot of money where as to UFC to show a PPV in a public place is about $2000 thats why you see it at bars, casinos n even hooters.
Its pretty simple what has happened to Boxing in America. It was the longest running sport to be covered on National television and than it went to premium cable and what it basically did was limit its audience from about 112 million to 25 million. Look at Mexico for example:
That's the long-range game. And I look for my example as to what happened in Mexico. In Mexico, boxing was during Julio Cesar Chavez's time, a major sport. And then for the next 10 years after Chavez retired, boxing was only shown on premium and pay-per-view television. As a consequence, interest in boxing shrank, the audience shrank and boxing was considered a dying sport in Mexico. Number of years ago, maybe four years ago, we have a Mexican partner, Fernando Beltran, and we were doing a fight in Anaheim for HBO which involved a Mexican fighter, Jorge Arce. And Fernando, I'll never forget, came to me and he said, 'Bob, this fight is gonna be shown on TV Azteca in Mexico,' a terrestrial network. And I said, 'well how much are they paying?' He said 'nothing, we're giving it to them.' Earlier that year, to counter a program — a telenovela on Televista — they asked us to do a Mexican boxing show in Las Vegas on the evening of Mexican Independence Day. The rating they got really ate into Televista's rating, and they were then hooked on boxing. And right now, you can look it up, boxing in Mexico is a tad behind soccer. Only the big soccer games could out-rate boxing. Manny Pacquiao's last fight in Mexico did a 55-point something rating. Incredible. Julio Chavez Jr., when he just fought on Mexican television, it was the highest-rated show for the entire week. So boxing is back in Mexico and now Televista, the other terrestrial network, is now showing a lot of boxing. So boxing is fully recovered in Mexico and we believe the same thing can happen in this country.
Boxing isnt dead but in the 20s 30s 40s 50s 60s 70s 80s It was super main stream remember when the Heavyweight championship of the world was the most coveted prize in all of sport to most Americans it not anymore to me it is.
True that. I remember my dad telling me when he worked for the city of chicago in the 60 and 70's it was like every Monday the guys would talk about the great fights over the weekend Ali or Sugar Ray Robinson or maybe some fighter on the undercard stole the show but there was always talk of Boxing and he said it really started to die down when Boxing went to premium cable and ppv. I remember I watched Rios vs. Acosta and Ortiz vs. Berto with him and he was telling me that if those fights were on NBC like they were back in the day everybody would be talking about them and that is so true.
Im talking top fighters there not poor at all.
well than they wear grant bcuz that's what they prefer or when they weren't making lots they signed a contract to wear them for wutever.
The type of gloves isn't that big a deal anyways, unless your a big puncher than alot of guys like Reyes or if they want more protective gloves for busted hands they wear Grant. It's just politics and preference really....
Huh? I said puts on the best fights, not who has the best fighters. And there are alot of guys in strikeforce who could not only give the top ufc fighters a run for their money but also beat them, especially in the heavyweight division....
Yeah well lots of kids your age don't appreciate the sweet science, they think it's just two guys throwing punches at each other.
So they go with what they see that's more mainstream, like UFC and WWE! Consider yourself to be among the select few teenagers who actually like what most kids don't understand.
Strikeforce puts on way better fights than UFC but it's no where's near as popular. That should tell you something right there...
The UFC has the best fighters in MMA.

Live in new york city and boxing is popular here but alot of fanboys be into the ufc cuz its real fighting, its just a fad.if it gets bigger then whatever but pac and may are bigger then the ufc as a whole
it's all about money kid, boxers choose wut type of gloves they like to use but if grants willing to pay more to a fighter to wear their gloves than let's say everlast than they'll wear grant. Boxers are usually poor for the most part remember.
yeh just remember that nothing good in life comes easy! Are you a big kid now, that will help,so as you grow up and fill out more you have the natural size and frame to fight as a heavy.
Alot of kids are fans of boxing. They just don't wanna admit it because of the casuals who say stuff like "Boxing is dead."
It's the same thing with Pro Wrestling fans. There are tons of them but they don't wanna admit they like it because they'll have to deal with the typical "You know that's fake right?"
UFC is what's popular with the kids now so when you admit you're a UFC fan you'll be accepted by the casuals.
lol that is like the exact opposite in my neck of the woods. Northwest side Chicago Irish
