He's mad he had to move his date because the big dog stepped in and took his date. Stop whining and learn how to sell tickets to the Fury v. Parker fight. Stop promoting Canelo v. GGG more than you're promoting Saunders vs. Monroe Jr and Parker vs. Fury
Warren has nothing to do with Parker vs. Fury. The fight is going through Youtube by PPV (in UK and Ireland at least).
Good test for Lejarraga.
Looks like Eddie will need new opponent for Josh Kelly.
Yes, and they will have to give explanations to save face. Yesterday night things were heated between Avanesyan's manager and Kelly.
He fights a nobody under the Chavez V. Jacobs card.
Eddie Hearn said last week that if he wins, he is signed to fight David Avanesyan next.
It should be a good test.
I understand that but if Canelo moves up in weight, or simply refuses to fight G again soon, what's the point?
I think Canelo is already small for MW, so he might go to SMW but just for specific fights, but won't make a permanent move.
Of course he could avoid GGG, but if he has the IBF and Canelo wants to collect all the belts, he will have to face him.
Meanwhile, If GGG is not fighting for a belt or unification, I think he will have "easy" fights.
I read GGG's deal is 6 fights for 100 million bucks or about 16 million plus per fight.
In that case, it would be even easier to offer 7M$ to Derevyachenko.
But it would be naive from us to consider GGG gets the same money for fighting Rolls or Canelo.
Anyway, let's see how things pan out.
If he is over pricing himself how come he will make more than this to fight GGG. I heard the expectation for the g fight was close to $7m. I think it was reported by Rafael or Coppinger. How come Canelo can't pay his opponent as much as GGG?
GGG has a 10M$ a fight deal with DAZN. He might be ready to give part of his purse to Derevy to get the chance to fight for the title. He might feel confident in his chances of winning it against a B- level opponent. If he wins, it would be easier to make a third fight with Canelo.
Now, I think the situation is going out of control, some fighters are being overpaid, and it makes other ones act like divas.
Somebody, somewhere, who loves boxing, has deep pockets.
Does any Golovkin fight not vs Canelo generate 25 mill or more? I guess that's what one would need to cover a guarantee like that.
Of course not, DAZN would need to have millions of subscribers to be able to cover that. But right now for trying to get more subscribers, they are investing money, and they signed GGG in a 10M$ a fight deal, no matter if each fights generates or not. The goal is to get more subscribers.
Imagine that DAZN would be ready to pay 11M$ to make the GGG - Derevy fight, because the GGG 10M$/fight deal + 1M$ for Derevy. GGG's promoter would have 11M$ to make the fight, and they could decide to share their part of the purse with Derevy. If they knew GBP was offering 5.5M$, they could offer 7M$, and GGG would pocket the rest, 4M$.
GGG team's goal would be to try to get a shot at the title and win it, so they would have more weight in the negotiation for a more lucrative fight against Canelo. The deal with Derevyanchenko could be considered like an investment to try to increase future earnings.
Haye is scared of Fury facing Joshua earlier than him. His plan (of getting a big payday) could be wiped.
He is calling out Joshua every week, it's really tiresome. He could face somebody else between the top 10-30.... but I don't see it happenning.
Atmosphere will be fine when Quigg and Frampton walk out.
All the fans are only there for one fight
I think so too.
I connected short time ago, and I have the feeling I didn't lost anything worthy.
Crolla and Hearn should consider about picking Warren's half-million offer. LOL at Hearn.
Now Eubank - Sullivan
Next Joshua - Whyte (it should be withing an hour)
The place is still ****ing empty..
It's 2 hours till main event, and the casuals bought the ticket to watch Joshua's show.
If Quigg makes a quick job in Simion, it will be a loonnnnggg time until the main event.
The fight starts around 4:30 PM in US Eastern time zone. So what time is that in the UK?
It's 19:30 now in UK.
The ring walks should start in 2:30-3 hours.
I dunno about that Jackanory fella beating him but Haye is obviously back for the money. He seems to have blown it and is looking for a quick cash grab via AJ. In reality, the AJ fight does nothing for him beyond the finances, because if he wins, he beat a prospect, if he loses, he lost to a prospect. A career oriented Haye would not be looking at AJ.
Joshua is close from being mandatory for the WBC, WBO and IBF. If Haye wins to Joshua, he could jump into a title fight easily.
