Josh Kelly was a hype train for a bit and died down after his recent match against Ray Robinson that ended in a draw. The unorthodox fighter had wins and KOs climbing the ranks of the welterweight division.
He fights a nobody under the Chavez V. Jacobs card.
Does he have any chance of being a world champion or even a contender?
Fans hyped him too soon and mounted just way too much pressure and too high of expectations for him to possibly live up to it this soon. He is still only 25 years old so Dialing him back and letting him build himself back up and work on his flaws is the right move!
Stop listening to STUPID Fans and stop buying into your own hype which is so easy to do in this ERA of Social Media

Eddie Hearn said last week that if he wins, he is signed to fight David Avanesyan next.
It should be a good test.

Fights with his head in the air and just waay too easy to hit to have success in the elite ranks of this division. He thinks he's RJJr, but he's more like Prince Naseem with light power.
He’s flashy so he looked great against journeymen
I always said I wanna see how he looks when he fights someone decent and has to use good fundamentals, not just dancing around beating up bums
Well we saw in his last fight that he was lacking when that was the case.
I still think he has talent though, maybe that fight was a good thing to show you can’t be flashy all the time and sometimes you just need to tone it down
and box.
He thinks he’s a Naseem Hamed, but Naz could use fundamentals if he really needed to, like after Kelley put him down, he actually boxed behind the jab a bit and got the job done.
Josh Kelly so far has been all style and no substance.
He's a solid fighter but definitely doesn't look to be special or anything. Hearn said end of 2018 that he wanted to put Kelly in with Danny Garcia in 2019, but he would have gotten KTFO if he was put in with him. Let him improve his skill set and see what he can do. Obviously right now Pacquiao/Spence/Crawford beat the dog ish out of him and out class him before stopping him.
If you look at him from amateur to pro he was never anything special. He is an unorthodox fighter and that is the only thing that he had going for him, he should have a L against Sugar Ray but he is a 'prospect' so he got saved. Far as his world title hopes go... no just no. Not unless the welterweight division gets even weaker than it already is which I doubt happens.
