I think your under appreciating his ability to time boxers with that vicious left hook that left Erik Morales spinning like a top, left Khan falling like a hack sawed redwood. And left Mathyse battered and broken.
The kid is tough as nails and has all the tools to adapt mid fight.
I agree he is tough, and has a great chin. However he took flush shots from khan and him. His defence is leaky.
Good fighter and I respect him, but his wideshots won't land on movers
The argument here was whether Mayweather should have chosen the more deserving fighter or the more competitive fight.
It is quite clear Maidana deserved it though now people are shunning the final decision.
Beating Lopez, Soto karass and Broner at 147 doesn't mean you deserve the fight with Floyd.
Someone like Bradley deserves it. Heck even Pac.
I think your drawing a conclusion based on what?
Theopane and Morales 1. He has improved in terms of confidence, but watching who he has fought in terms of how they fought him recently has played into his hands.
where in the world in this thread does manny being an atg come out of nowhere?
ima pac fan too.. but dam, some pac fans take it wayy over board
Er you either have cataracts or are dumb. Re read what he said and come back to the thread.
When Riog beat Donaire he did not praise Rigo he complained and tried to say his other fighter(favorite) won....Now Salido defeats Lomo and he complains and not even once congratulates his damn fighter in Salido..how can that feel knowing your own damn promoter wanted you to lose and is upset that you actually won?
He does, but so does every promoter. For example Khan gets a lot of love from GBP as well as Broner, while Maidana has been used as that stepping stone and always got the short end of the stick. Canelo gets a lot of love too...
They are all bums. They aren't realistic at all. I watch a lot of interviews there and they seem good fun, and most are humble, but some are too bias or unrealistic to a point that they need to have a reality check.
Earn your place.
I disagree with those who say he would beat Pacquiao. He is a good champion but I think Pacquiao is superior to him in just about every way. I think Garcia would beat Rios in a close war. There is no way in hell I can see Garcia completely dominating Rios and winning every round and hardly getting hit while landing 4 or 5 clean punches in a row without getting hit in return. That is what Pacquiao did to Rios. Pacquiao is about the same size as Danny but that is where the similarity ends. Pacquiao is faster, harder to hit, a harder puncher and he throws more punches. The Marquez KO of Pacquiao was a perfect punch that would have knocked Danny out just as cold. If Pacquiao can take Cotto's punches he can stay on his feet from anything Danny can hit him with.
I agree. Danny hits hard but he hasn't taken out many of the top guys.
Khan had no chin and was wreckless
Morales shot
Zab survived
Matthyse survived
Holt survived
Imo pac ain't getting ko'd

Peoblem with Rigo is that he forced TR to co promote with another company or he wouldn't sign the fight with Donaire. Google it.
Not that I agree with Bob at all, but certainly I can see why he would hate it. It means less money for him... and he is greedy.
Well I think you've got Ray Charles syndrome if you don't think he's improved since the morales or Theophane fight (when he was 20/21!!) I've been a critic of him in the past but I gotta give him credit, he makes a living shutting up his critics..
I'm done betting against swift, May and Pac are the only guys that I would be certain he'd get beat by!
He wins, can't fault that.
However someone said khan is a mover. Khan has no chin and was not moving. His game plan was to hurt Danny... Wrong move, Danny has a beard.
Matthyse was feared but also a power puncher. Wrong style... Plus before he was injured the fight was close. Zab and Alexander is matthyse level.
Zab looked worse vs Paulie than Danny.
A shot Morales in the first made him look wild, and he still is.
Maybe I will retract destroyed but I really feel all 3 win by 10 rounds.
If he felt khan was fast, he will feel the speed of Manny and Floyd. Bradley is really skilled and smart when he chooses. Honestly I don't see Bradley being hit by those wide shots of he boxes
Those fights probably aren't happening. Ppl need to get over it.
Floyd has 4 fights left, or 3 after Maidana. The money for him and Pac will be huge no matter what people say. Something can be arranged.
I know that they don't want to waste the opportunity of that payday.
Who else will get Floyd even over 1.2 mill PPV?
It's coming just hope PAC doesn't resign
Pac is broke and won't resign. He's a bit stupid with money but I can't blame him since he is not educated. I got tired of the fight in 2012, but after this Khan/Maidana thing, it's clear there's no one else to fight with GBP anyway.
Bradley as many say is one mofo who don't stop gruelling away. Great workrate, chin and skills. He has hunger, even though I say he lost to Pac 7-5, he is a boxer who may win in a rematch as 90% of boxers win in close fights.
Pac could still win, but no shame in that. Pac is an ATG no matter what people say.
In fact I really want to see Floyd fight a fast south paw again. Makes for an exciting fight.
I'd love Floyd to get a title at 160. I have faith that he can, but obviously those guys punch hard and can bully him like Cotto did. He can beat them if he lasts, he has what, 2 or 3 inches lost in height, but has reach is about the same if not more.
Martinez is old now and has physically broken down. GGG is good, but certainly is not great.
Don't get me wrong, I think Maidana deserves a payday, he usually gets the short end of the stick, but styles make fights. No way he can win. He would not win even if he landed 50 flush shots on Floyd.
Do y***39;all think I should fight on my big bro @FloydMayweather card or nah?— Adrien Broner (@AdrienBroner) February 24, 2014
Him VS Khan/Danny would make some noise
A run for a long time is rarely going to tax your body more than fighting for 36 minutes...When you think about the minutes involved and the energy used per minute (marathons last a long time) it doesn't quite sound right, but to me thats the way it is.
I can run 6 miles in under an hour (not amazing, but still decent...) and I have sparred at a steady pace for 4x2 rounds and can easily say that while the long runs may take it out of you, the act of fighting is a LOT more tiring than running.
Just my opinion based off my experience, I have never attempted a marathon or fought for 12x3 rounds, but I have enough experience with running and sparring that I could take a guess that a full distance professional fight is harder on the body than a marathon.
Well if you say 12 round pro fight then try running your 6 miles in under 30 mins once.
If you can do the 6 miles in under 30 mins then that gives you an idea of the pace a pro marathon guy is doing, but of course for another 20 miles to go.
LOL at bias forum posters saying a runner can slow down. Yeah not like a boxer can not use movement, hug, smother, use feints etc... to slow a fight down.
Time is important in a marathon if we are talking fighting pro's here. People can do a marathon, it's the time which makes it impressive. If you do it at 4 or 5 hours, that is not too impressive. That is most likely average.
Try under 3 hours at least.
This MUST be a joke. Tennis is harder than running. Boxing is MILES harder.
Imagine the pain Gatti felt as he got up from Wards body shot. Imagine the pain Ortiz was in when Lopez was hitting his broken jaw. That's on top of how heavy your arms and legs start to feel, how breath control gets harder. This is an insult to Boxers.
I'll tell you what, if you can run a mile, just one mile at 4 mins 40
or 6 miles at 30 mins and put it on video to prove it
I will spar this guy for 12.
He is a friend of mine that I met through my job.
He obviously isn't World quality, and is sort of British level, or below, but he is a pro.
I will film myself getting bust up by him no problem. But you do what I ask, and this aint even a marathon at that pace, but simply a mile or 6 miles at 30 mins which is a bit harder.

Film yourself running a 4.40 min Mile and say it is a joke. Please do, I will wait, or film yourself doing a simple 6 miles at 30 mins please. Not even close to a marathon distance.
Let's see how you feel.
I am begging you to try. Please do it, please.
I want an App that actually shows me round by round scoring. A simplified 117-115 118-114 114-114
or whatever seems not too bad, but what if the judges gave each round to the others etc... sometimes it really annoys me to not be able to see the full score cards.
An app like that I would love, sometimes google doesn't get results.
It's just for my benefit really, but I would use it.
The posters here need to really look at pace when it comes to running.
13 MPH is actually not slow. That's speed 20 on a treadmill (UK). Try it and see.
This is a top level speed.
If people jog at a 6 hour pace then that is different and easy. 4 hours is decent for an average guy.
3 Hours is very good.
Anything under is very impressive.
2 Hours is the fastest guys give a few mins.
Now of course being beat up by a pro is no joke. Getting a busted lip or nose is painful. I am just putting it out there that we are thinking about fighting a pro, so think about running at the speed of a pro.
I don't understand Spanish but Angulo sounds dumb.
Nice guy though, he is known to sleep on the floor and offer others his bed etc... humble guy.
Showtime is too UFC in the spin. The beginning part was 'Controversial' LOL. Angulo and Lara that is... shut up Showtime.
Canelo doesn't seem to be getting better at all.
Brook is a bum who ****ing gasses out and looks like losing to guys with 10 loses.
Broner is a 3 weight champ no matter what. He may have lost the title but he's still a solid fighter. Better fight than Brook who has fought no bodies
It depends on your build IMO. Plus who you fight.
I have ran 18 Miles and hitting 26.2 Miles is no joke. 18 Miles is when your body hits a wall and the sugars should be gone and you use fat as energy.
Unless anyone has run a marathon then it is completely hard to tell.
A top marathon runner is hitting around 13 MPH for 2 hours. That is no joke for so long.
Now if you fight a pro with 8 ounce gloves then you will feel pain and IMO KO'd well before. It's more of a beat down.
I am 96KG which is around 211 lbs so a marathon would be extremely hard.
Stephen Espinoza said 'It's not an option. Reasons why will become clear shortly' in response to someone asking him 'Khan vs Broner on May 3rd?'
Both have other opponents lined up? Broner moving down to 140?
Would be a bad fight for Broner, he'd lose a wide UD
Do you have a source? That socks
