The slow, plodding Spence clearly out-boxed Garcia, who is a much more technically sound boxer than Manny is. He would do the same or worse to Manny. Take a reality pill dude.
Technical or not, never compare Manny with Mikey.
Spence vs Margarito would have been a 50/50 fight, but we all know styles makes fights!
"My last fight was (Adrien) Broner and he was only 29 years old. That's not a problem," he said Thursday.
Genius Manny subliminal disses at The Problem Broner!
This is why he's an all timer!
no point in a rematch.. manny is pretty much done. so what if thurman beats pac in a rematch?? is he gonna take on the other contender after then? i dont think so. thurman should look to take on a tune up then after that go seek out the winner of spence/porter and fight that guy to get the belt.
Manny whooped Thurman but you say Manny is pretty much done. Thurman should keep fighting though?
Where's the logic here?
LOOK FRESH?!?!! Manny looked bad for manny. No power, Coming in head first all the time. Looked clumsy at times. i think the broner fight shows its time to hang them up.
You just described Shawn Porter... Manny beat Broner more convincingly..Broner couldnt land anything... if Floyd fought Broner an identical fight youd be saying how great his defense was and blah blah. ....Should Porter hang them up to?
Manny looked way past it this past weekend. A dumb and undisciplined Broner happened to make him look unstoppable to the casuals.
They have no idea that those amazing flurries he threw on Saturday night, had about 1/4 of the power it once did, but they were entertained by it nonetheless.
I wouldn't advise Manny to fight anybody but Floyd and he'd get dismantled in that one....IF he fights the way he did on Saturday night.
I'm not sure what level Manny's speaking of, but not even he should step foot anywhere to close to those guys.
What's even sadder is that old guys like him and Floyd have to stick around to make the sport interesting because the current WWs have little to no drawing power.
Where's the "star" of this generation's WWs? Whose the "money guy" of the division? I'll wait. It's sad though....build up another star or two while you're at it, boxing gods.
All of the current WWs aren't PPV headline worthy and that's pretty sad to say.
Remember when he had guys like Erik Morales stick around because the 140 lb division was full of potential but nobody really broke their necks to fight each other? Same deal here at WW nearly 10 years later. Smh
Spoken as if youve seen Mayweather fight a boxer in the last 4 years... d rider confirmed!
DJ has a Khan chin, comes in at light heavyweight, and is taller than GGG. However, he’s not even close to being as good as GGG. He can’t hit as hard as him neither. DJ was ko’D by Pirog, dropped twice by Mora, dropped once and ran from GGG, best wins were against Quillin and his stablemate who he went life and death with recently. Canelo has also faced way better opponents than DJ. Examples: Cotto and Mayweather. Fought GGG twice. I have no doubt Canelo will win competitively and legitimately in this fight.
How does losing to Floyd help your resume? I think losing to GGG is better for both of their resumes.
Manny reminds me of the guy who got bullied in elementary school and then got better than the guys that bullied him and now all he wants to do is fight those guys. He doesn't want to go against guys that are actually competing, he only wants to fights the guys that beat him.
You know the guy, he played a little college ball and then goes back to his home town gym and dominates the guys who used to dominate him (even though the locals work two jobs to take of care of three of kids by two different chicks).
But he never goes to the "real" gym where guy are actually balling. And he always gives the hard foul even though the guys he's playing against have to get up in the morning and go to work.
Or that other guy that goes around knocking out winos because they stole his lunch money in the fourth grade and he's been working out in the local gym.
Give it up Manny. Defend you title against a real contender and stop hugging on Floyd's nuts.
But I do feel for Manny. I remember when this girl beat me at tether ball in the fourth grade. I ran into her the other day and she looks good for her age, but all I could do was drop her with a left hook.
This guy is new to boxing... prime Manny ducked no man! You are giving 40 year old Manny props and dont even know it.... this guy wants to see his favorite young WW challenged by a 40 year old... lol
I think pac is delusional and thinks Broner is Floyd Jr.
Broner is a pseudo Floyd, in other words a wannabe. The real Floyd during the time they cut to him during the fight was looking at manny like he wanted to pick him apart especially that lunging left hand he threw at broner and matthysse.
Floyd will kill you pac, I bet Marquez is calling pac and asking him to fight lol with the way he beat broner.
He said Floyd will KILL(insert any current boxer here). LoL. Floyds brittle hands will get killed by anyones face before anything else.
You are aware that Floyd beat Pacquaio in 2015, right?
It depends on what channel you watched it on and who convinced you who won.
Youtube has a good version where they just show the punches land so you dont have to watch them look at each other from a distance.
Broner didn't win but I felt he won a few rounds. Both him and Pac looked like grade A horse*****.
If old man senator Pac faces any of the belt holders at welterweight next-he gets KO'd or UD'd.
Naw, I disagree. This generation's beltholders are garbage compared to the last generation's and hasn't seen elite competition before. Prime Marquez, Mosley, Cotto, ODH, Bradley, etc. schools them all!
Margarito and Spence would have been a dope 50/50 fight though!
Also, Morales and Terrence Crawford at 140 would have been great but I think Erik would have been too much for Bud.
hearing broner talk, i think he felt he got the victory by just surviving all 12 rounds lol.... i dont think he actually thought he won the fight, but its a victory for him since he didnt get wiped out. listen to him, how he brings up how everyone thought pac was just gonna come and put a beating on him but since that didnt happen so he took that as a win lol.
Sounds a lot like how people gave Canelo the win over GGG...
Manny is a stud and theres no denying it. Where are all the people that claim Pac is taking PEDs like Canelo?
does it say you like to "lick pac man" under your username? You pac fans take fandom to an entirely new level of obsessive.
Pac Man never cheated and if he ever gets caught, he can blame it on the puppy carne and his fans will beleive him!
The last time pac was an underdog he proved those odds to be correct when he was rendered completely ineffective by Floyd. If Thurman is 80% of what he used to be and if there is consistent drug testing in place, pac will lose.
Being that Manny never failed a test in 25 years, odds are Thurman will come up dirty like Floyd did.
Lame..Hatton beat may too.man that was awesome how ricky made floyd back pedal.won em the fight
Didn't that fight actually end in a KO? The rest was all sarcasm just in case you didn't know.
you're actually just projecting. Nobody agrees with you outside of the Phillipines. If you felt you won a fight, you don't make excuses for your loss with a fake shoulder injury that was cured with saltwater. We all have favorite fighters but when you deny a clear loss, you're no longer a fan. You're a biased groupie.
Manny used the same surgeon for the same injury Kobe used...
Kobe must have faked his injury too!
People can debate close fights endlessly. But that fight wasn't close. Closest anyone could reasonably have it is 8 rounds to 4. Spinning it to say pac may have won is being a fan boy. There aren't any objective non biased fans who think he won.
What if you took 4 points away from Floyd for excessive holding and running to the bathroom to take a piss in the middle of the 8th round?
Castillo 1..thats it. Maidana got his ass kicked both times..this guy is an a/ss hat. They(pilipinos) are all the same, they have an ATG and they made guy a national treasure. I mean is that real life??Pac is an ATG..roids or not..we cannot for surely say yes, but we know Michael Jackson raped then kids. He looked, and I am not being sarcastic, pac lookee liked they trained a homeless man for 6 months and threw him in there with Floyd. I mean for anyone to say that Pac beat may or even came close, well..they are either rimming Pac or just dumb
Floyd's "kill or be killed" mentality really destroyed Manny with his combination haymakers that landed time after time. I'm suprised Manny didn't go down in the 4th round with that thunderous shot May landed that had Manny backpeddeling all night. If you turn your TV upside down with your microwave door open, you'll notice how Manny didn't even land one punch till the 11th when Floyd's corner distracted him by shouting out "yo mama" jokes aimed at him. #TBE #49.333

Don’t write without the pertinent context. Rigo moved up two weight classes in the twilight of his career. Walters (a pretender) took a retirement cash out fight that he never intended on winning evidenced by the fact that he hasn’t fought since, and took the fight after a long layoff .
Linares and Pedraza aren’t worth mentioning, and Russell was a really good scalp that was a close fight where Russell dropped him with a left hook while Loma was lunging in.
Bottom Line: Loma hasn’t fought a threat since Russell, and is now continuing to avoid real threats. Instead of fighting Lopez, he’s avoiding him in search of safety fights like Campbell (whoever that is) .
And in an attempt to sound legitimate, he’s now calling Mikey out after he clearly ducked the fight when they were both at 135. He knows good and well Mikey can’t make 135, and if he can, it’s suicidal to go from 147 to 135 in one fight.
Loma is an actor who’s well deserving of an Oscar !
I remember the time when Mikey and Floyd were fighting bums and YOU were cheering for them even after Floyd was gifted the Castillo fight and now Mikey getting pummeled by Spence.
13 pro fights 3 division titles making 4 so called bums quit on the stool in a row and your idols still have nothing on him at this stage in his career comparing apples to apples between.
Mikey dealt with Spence very well. He runs right through lomachenko. 🥊
Loma KOs or makes Mikey quit on the stool... Mikeys never seen such speed in his life and never sees the punch that drops him... either lights out or no mas Guaranteed!
When someone is constantly crushing Cans there’s literally nothing to hate on, except that there are some people out there that r stupid enough to get excited over it.
Rigo, Walters, Russell Jr, Pedraza, Linares all crushed like cans... These cans are on the best 130-140 resume in the last decade or so.
There's actually fanboys out there stupid enough to discredit these boxers? smh
I wasn’t even on this site till after Floyd’s retirement so you’re COMPLETELY full of sh.t
Secondly, u talk about Mikey fighting bums but he tried vehemently to fight Loma when they were both at 135 and Loma didn’t want the smoke. So if Mikey wanted to fight Loma, maybe ur right , maybe Mikey only wanted to fight bums, lol
Bob Arum July 2018:
“(Garcia) doesn’t like to take chances; that’s the way he always was,” Arum said. “Excellent talent, he has that.” Arum thinks Garcia is looking to fight Spence because, “Spence will beat him and (Garcia) can say I got beat up by a guy two weight classes bigger. He’s desperately afraid of fighting Loma at the same weight. Loma makes him look like an idiot. If Mikey fights Loma in the same style he fought Easter, he will get destroyed.”
Who's ducking who again?
err, go back to mid 2016, and Loma was fighting at 126, and Mikey was fighting Rojas and weighing in at 138. Main talk at the time was Loma/Rigo.
Mikey/Loma only came onto the radar between mid 2016 and mid 2017, when Loma went up to 130, and Mikey went back to 135 in Jan 2017, at which time the weights got close enough that verbal sparring cound begin (although Mikey going to 140 for Broner kept then at 10lbs apart at the time as Loma was still 130 mid 2017).
One of the earliest exchanges between the two happened Dec 2016 (Loma's second fight at 130), where Mikey said 'if he comes to 135, we've got to make a fight'. Then Jan 2017:
- "We hear about Lomachenko from all of the media and reporters and the fans, but I have yet to hear anything from Top Rank or his manager mentioning my name. I would definitely take on a challenge like that if he comes up to 135,"
- "He's still at 130, I'm at 135 now. If he decides to move up, and they present me with that opportunity - we'll take it. But it's not up to me, it's up to him to move up. I'm not coming down. If anything he needs me at 135. I'm not coming down to 130 and I haven't heard anything from his promoter or his camp mentioning my name.
Then fast forward to Mar 2018, and it was:
- “If he wants to come up, I’ve been calling him out for a year and he still hasn’t moved up,
But then Loma DID move up to fight Linares 2 months later, so now we are where we are.
Loma started reacting to Mikey's public statements Mar 2017, with the opening salvos coming from Mikey Dec 2016.
So explain to us those years where Loma wouldn't mention Mikey's name again ?
But agree, Mikey not coming back to 135, he would be degraded by the weight loss, and as someone mentioned 'Brook 2.0'. Mikey doesn't need Loma, there is a lot of action at 140. He'll drop the belt for his own health reasons - nothing to do with Loma.
I think bottom line is they simply missed each other on the scales, and whatever games Arum was playing in the background probably didn't help either.
If Mikey was to get paid 7 million to fight Crolla at 135 I bet he could make weight no problem. But for Loma for 10 million?
