Only a week away, looking forward to the match up. Walters will need to use his length, and straight punches. He was having a hard time landing clean on Sosa whenever he threw hooks upstairs, Lomachenko would be wise to use head movement instead of a more stationary high guard in my opinion. The closer the fight gets, the more I start leaning towards Lomachenko. Walters just looks so sloppy in sparring, although he seems to be a guy who looks better on fight night.

Let's all hope it's Lomachenko. If Walters wins, I think it'll be a problem getting him in the ring with other fighters since he'd want so much money. Why would the guy who makes far less than Lomachenko have problems getting people in the ring?

Ouma fights at MW since 2010. Ouma fought where he could get pay days. He wasn't a rated middleweight. He was a journeymen at that point. He took a tremendous beating from Jermain Taylor five years prior to fighting Golovkin. After the Taylor whoopin, Ouma went 2-7. There is no way that you can spin this man. lol

It's a real fight and I can just hope the biased bullshit and hatred for either fighter will stop for a bit, also the exaggerated trolling. Jacobs is a tough challenge for GGG, he had an off night against Pirog, but maybe Pirog was also really really amazing. Sadly we never found out because of his career ending back injury. Jacobs is big and strong, has advantages in reach and height, won't be an easy fight for either of them. I think GGG might eat some hard shots in this fight from a legit MW puncher but he will eventually wear Jacobs down with bodyshots and knock him out in the later rounds. Jacobs also has damn near the same KO percentage as GGG. 32 wins, 29 by knockout. Fair post. I agree with most of it. Jacobs is Golovkin' biggest test to date. Jacobs isn't perfect, but he has a decent amateur background. He is 6'0 tall, and has one shot power upstairs and downstairs. He can box on his toes and move around as well. He jumps in and throws hard shots to the body, and I'm interested to see how Golovkin reacts to them. I agree regarding Pirog. If I recall, the Jacobs fight was the last fight he had where his back wasn't a big issue. I thought he was the best middleweight at that point. He was a thinking man in the ring, with good defense, and decent power. A real shame his back wouldn't cooperate with the rest of his career. For all the people that have been waiting to see Golovkin in a real fight, Jacobs is it. It's the first fight of Golovkin's that I am excited about. It's the first one that isn't a foregone conclusion.

Hey guys I wanted to discuss Golovkin's incredible power. A few things that are interesting though is he is not putting guys to sleep. Most of his recent stoppages have been TKO's, despite this the look on guy's faces when he first land tells you he is incredibly powerful. Examples of this are the first knockdown off Curtis Stevens, the whole fight with Wade, and the knockout of Matthew Macklin. Also there are tales of his sparring sessions with heavyweights who swear his punch feels like a heavy. How powerful is is punch? Is it truly that he is so powerful, or is it the pressure and skilled offense in unison with a good but not amazing power like that of Julian Jackson. Something that makes this debate difficult is his former opponents all claim he does not punch as hard as they thought despite the fact that they got KO'ed (Stevens, Rosado, Brook). What are your thoughts? I think his hard bones due to his heritage (Korean + Kazahk) creates punches that are heavy, though they do not look explosive like Pacquiao, Jones, Jackson, Klitschko. What do you guys rate his power 1-10? I think Julian Jackson is a 10. From my opinion Golovkin his punch is an 8. Why? Guys like Rosado, Brook, Murray went multiple rounds with him and got hit flush without going to sleep. I think what sets him apart is how good he cuts off the ring. A skilled fighter like Brook who can handle decent pressure could not handle Golovkin, Wade a decent technician could not avoid being on the ropes (despite doing so with Rosado who is a decent fighter). Kell Brook was made to do the stanky leg when Fechenko tagged him. I didn't see Brook get Bambi legged in any of the rounds against Golovkin. Golovkin was landing some flush ***** upstairs too. He also pounded on Murray for quite a long time before the ref stopped it. Golovkin seems more of a pressure guy with good power as opposed to being and outright Krusher, like Kovalev, Joshua, or guys like that who have the serious one punch type power. Not sure why Jacobs gets so much negativity thrown his way by Golovkin fans. No Lemieux, and Stevens aren't close to being better than Jacobs. And no, neither guy punches harder than Jacobs does either.

people will say its me being a fanboy but i genuinely give his power at 160 a 10/10. Pretty much all the fighters say his power is something else, apart from brook but getting wobbled in round 1, his reaction to the body shots and a fractured eye socket tell me otherwise. Stops every opponent, and theres not many clean shots he lands which dont seem to have a visible effect on the opponent, especially his body shots. As another poster says, i dont think he gets that many clean knockouts because his opponents are usually in retreat mode after first couple of rounds Sparring partners can say his power is something else, but fact is, he hasn't been laying anyone out cold. You could hear some of those thudding shots that were landing flush to Brooks face, and Brook took them well. I don't think Brook would have stayed up right had Jacobs landed the same shots. Golovkin seems to puncher harder to the body. Brook looked like he almost crapped his trunks when that left hook landed against the ropes. Also looked like he couldn't inhale for the next 30 seconds lol.

Lemeiux? Stevens? Journeymen competing as contenders in the weakest middleweight division of the last 80 years. Marco Antonio Rubio and N'Jikam must have granite chins as well, if Lemieux, and Stevens are your examples.

If they had some stoppages against top level guys, I would agree. I didn't think either guy was good prior to fighting Golovkin. Lemieux had lost to old ass Alcine, and Marco Antonio Rubio. Stevens had lost to a dude from The Contender, who was a scrub himself, and also lost to the other near top level guys he faced like Dirrell, and N'Jikam. Golovkin's resume leaves a whole lot to be desired. But so does Lemieux's and Stevens'. Everybody can KO the bums. The real power punchers do it at the top level as well though.

GGG also has a granite chin. Let's see about Spence's. We don't know whether Golovkin's chin is granite or not, as he has never faced a top quality power punching middleweight.

I don't know what the "Cotto shuffle" is but I do know how Kneeguel likes to take that knee... Check Cotto's fight with Corley. You will see the Cotto shuffle. My point being, Brooks legs momentarily turned to jello when hit by a guy who doesn't have half the power that Spence does. Add that weight cut back down to 147, and it spells grade A British China getting shattered when Spence lands a power shot.

I think you are reading too far into that though, you can do the booty dew but not fall or get put to sleep. You could say that's a weakness, but you could also say that's a strength. Fair point.

It was a win-win situation for him. Brook needs to get in there with young hungry fighters from his weight class and his generation. I had it wider for Ward. Not sure why Kovalev or his fans are even upset. Kovalev's reputation of being stubborn showed tonight, and it's part of the reason why he lost. JDJ even told him to stay on the outside and stop clinching. What did Kovalev do though? He disregarded, and kept clinching and Wrastlin. While he is wrastlin, he isn't scoring. Ward was outworking the second half of the fight. Had Kovalev kept boxing from the outside, he would have stopped Ward inside four or five rounds. Ward couldn't avoid the shots, he would eat one to land one.
