Linares is fast and flashy. That's it.
Lomachenko is going to show the world who Linares really is. Another hypejob out of business.
Who's next? Robert Easter? Little Davis dude?
I completely disagree, the only aspect of Okollie’s game that’s better than Chamberlain’s is power. Okollie is terrible. He’s shown so many technical flaws already, against terrible opposition. There’s no evidence to suggest he’s “miles above Chamberlain”.
You'll see.:boxing:
It worked for Sor "Minny Pacquiao" Rungvisai, so if Gonzalez goes to sleep we will have confirmed the legal alternative to PEDs.
Srisaket Sor Rungvisai trains in Bangkok.
will linares be saying no mas in his native tongue?
Linares won't see the final bell. He's massively overrated right now and some think he's a super skillful p4p boxer.
But all Linares really has going for him is handspeed, size and experience. Take that away - and Lomachenko is the best at taking that away - and all that's left is an average boxer with a weak chin and paper skin.
Easy fight for Lomachenko but Linares will undoubtedly show more heart than Rigondeaux and at least try to fight.
Usyk stays in the pocket for too long and goes out in straight lines and he's in against the very best of a strong division. Of course he's gonna get hit, what do you people expect?
"Floyd Mayweather's defence is bad, he got hit so hard by Mosley and bums like Cotto and Maidana and Oscar and even an old Pacquiao who is overrated anyway and can't do anything without roids, blaaaablaaaablaaaa."
GTFO, agenda *******s.
None of Okollie’s fights prove anything. I’m pretty sure Chamberlain would convincingly beat any of the bums he’s fought
It's not about that, it's about what we can see in the fights. Don't look at boxrec, look at actual footage.
You'll see for yourself, Okolie is so much better than Chamberlain.
He took a dive, yes. Absolutely, no question.
Takes a jab, shakes it off, throws his right hand and hits and then falls like someone shot him in the head.
First knockdown was legit, second wasn't, he took a dive / quit.
I think he's on the shortlist for Canelo or GGG next. GGG more than Canelo obviously I'd assume. So yea this was the move to make for him I feel to potentially get the big fights cuz he was even less likely to get those fights outside of HBO.
How was it unlikely when he already got the big fights before joining Hearn?
From fights against Quillin and Golovkin to Arias and O'Sullivan.
Out of Gassiev and Dorticos, Gassiev is the easier fight for Usyk.
Dorticos is the one Usyk would be worried about a lot as the Cuban's right hand is the perfect weapon against Usyk who doesn't get out of range after offloading fast enough and moves back in straight lines.
Gassiev is not an easy fight, don't get me wrong, but Dorticos is real trouble for Usyk.
Red k because I think you're an idiot. It's just my opinion though.
Red k? How old are you, 13 or 14? I don't care about internet points, bring some arguments to the table instead of insults and we can have a discussion.
What makes Linares special in your opinion? If not handspeed?
Not really. Okolie's technique is awful.
Okolie is far from perfect less than one year after his pro debut but solid enough. The other guy doesn't have anything going for him. Not very fast, no power and not a technically skilled boxer either.
Relatively easy fight for Okolie compared to what some UK fans make of it. Great way to advance his career.
He was supposed to face Gevor last weekend but he pulled out so Durodola is ready. Not sure if Vlasov had a camp though.
That's not exactly true, Gevor is one of the backup replacements in case one of the WBSS participants gets injured.
There were talks of him fighting on the card but never anything official. Just rumors.
Gevor kept himself ready to jump in as a replacement for either Usyk, Briedis, Gassiev or Dorticos but I have no idea where the Durodola rumor came from. It just popped up last week and then disappeared again.
doritos has slow feet. he will be outboxed from the outside.
the great thing about abel sanchez is that he coaches great aggressive footwork to corner opponents
Who will outbox Dorticos? Usyk? No, Usyk is not a guy to outbox you from range, he's a mid-range volume puncher with a good jab. Dorticos is extremely dangerous for Usyk, who's most vulnerable to straight right hands.
Well, a least they are the same weight. Rigondeaux is a midget compare to those two. And I know he disgracefully quit. So please save your remarks about GR quitting job.
Linares will be the much bigger man in the ring, that won't help him. It's not about size, it's about skill and neither Rigondeaux nor Linares come close to Lomachenko, sorry.
You’re ignorant to boxing skills if all you see in Linares is speed.
Handspeed is clearly Linares' standout quality. His "boxing skills" are average at world level, nothing special. Handspeed makes him look good. Similar to Khan. But Khan boxed at a much higher level obviously.
Let me get this right. Your criticising reasonable ticket prices? What planet are you people on. It cost me £800 for two tickets to watch Hatton vs Malignaggi at the MGM grand in 2008, and they weren't great seats. That can't be right.
I agree, if you paid £800 to watch that fight something can't be right with you.
He was 1 round up on all scorecards. The truth of the matter is we don't know what was going to happen. Let's not act like the first 4 or so rounds were all Ortiz. He was dictating the pace but neither was landing anything really outside of jabs. Judges split those rounds up if i'm not mistaken. I had Ortiz up though myself
Ortiz was down in the second round from a jab.
10:8 round for Wilder.
