We have a situation where there is no clear-cut #1 contender to fight Mayweather. It would play out like this: Williams beat Margarito who beat Cintron and Cotto who beat Mosley, Judah and Quintana who beat Williams and we're back at the start. And this could all happen by the middle of the year. I think in that situation it defers to Mosley if he wins his next fight, just because he is more proven than the rest. But what a clusterfuck it would be.

First of all let me just ask you all to go back and watch what happened. Floyd and Hatton are in tight. Floyd ducks down from the right hand and Hatton falls back behind Floyd a little. Hatton then moves him with his body and left hand on the back of Floyd's head into and thru the ropes, then tries to throw a right hand at the back of the head as Floyd falls thru. I'm sorry, but if this isn't considered a completely obvious and dirty foul then nothing is. Maybe it was difficult to see in real time, but its very obvious when you rewatch the fight.

You guys really surprised me with your loyalty tonight. I know it wasn't easy seeing your fighter get beat for the 1st time, but I was impressed with how it was handled. Other than the booing of the American National Anthem, you guys were pretty damn classy. The boos are common all over the world and had to be expected, but overall you guys are alright.

Is anybody else tired of listening to Larry Merchant bitch and complain about everything? The guy rarely, if ever, says anything positive. Tonight he criticized fighters, judges, and referees. The guy really needs to retire because its obvious he isn't in touch with reality anymore. I just needed to rant about the senile old man for a minute. I can't stand him.

I hope its not too hard for people to see what Oscar De La Hoya is doing by wanting to fight Hatton. By fighting Hatton he makes GBP a shitload of money, but he also leaves Shane Mosley as Floyd Mayweather's only option. This opens up the door for GBP to be involved in two of the biggest fights of the year (or next year) instead of one. If Hatton fights Floyd (no money for GBP), then Mosley fights Cotto (money is split with Top Rank). I say its bad for boxing because PBF-Mosley is going to be a pure boxing match, which might not excite the fans. I'm not saying its not the kind of fight I like to watch, but many people don't want to see boxing (unfortunately). And Hatton-DLH is going to be a one-sided massacre. Hatton is a good fighter, but he stands zero chance against a guy who holds every single advantage over him. Speed, power, chin, defense, etc is all for DLH. Its also funny that he's now saying he can make 147. When the Mayweather fight was made at 154, DLH gave the reason that he could hardly make 147 years ago.

I'm definitely a Taylor fan and have been since the first Hopkins fight, but he definitely still pisses me off. He keeps his hands too low, doesn't jab enough, is slow on his feet, and is off balance way too much. Anyone saying that he looked good last night is off. No doubt he won the fight. No doubt he won at least 8 rounds, with 2 more being toss ups. But doesn't it scare you that a guy moving up from 154 can take so many of his clean shots? Ouma has a VERY solid chin, but DAMN. Last night, Taylor proved that he has very limited inside fighting skills and not much defense. He was able to hang with B-Hop and Winky because their styles. But if Taylor gets in with a pressure fighter better than Ouma (Calzaghe), then he could be in trouble. I really hope he gets back to the gym and Manny Steward works with him on some of the basics cuz he's lacking some fundamentals. I'm still a Jermain fan, but he really disappointed me last night by looking so sloppy.

I never seem to see any stories about the good things he does, so I thought I'd put one up. Floyd also hands out coats, gloves and hats to kids that can't afford them during the winter. The comedy event it mentions is the second time he's held an event like this. During the summer, he held a weekend long event which included a celebrity Basketball game, a concert and a comedy show (I think that right). Some of you guys seem to forget that Muhammed Ali was the most arrogant, cocky asshole that ever walked the face of the earth back when he was fighting. He gets praise now and is one of the most popular fighters in history, but a lot of people hated Ali. Why was he so damn cocky? Because he was the best. He knew it, the fans knew it and the other fighters knew it. Floyd Mayweather is one of the most arrogant, cocky assholes in boxing today. Why? because he is the best. He knows it, you know it and other fighters know it. Was Ali really an asshole? No, he turned out to be a great person and thats why everyone loves him. Is Mayweather really a bad person? Only his time after boxing will really allow his personality to really come out. Until then, he is a business. He runs his mouth to get publicity (think Margarito, Toney, Tarver, etc....), because no publicity is bad publicity (Terrell Owens, Ron Artest). The point I'm trying to make is that you guys should be appreciating the most talented fighter in the world because you don't know a damn thing about him personally. So many people claim to hate him because he is a "terrible" person, when they've never met him. Everyone gets on his case because he claims to be the best. What the hell do you want him to say? That he's the 4th or 5th best? All great fighters claim to be the best and really think they are. There is no way to compare these fighters so who the hell are you or me to say that he's not? Like I said, appreciate the great fighters while they're here because they don't come around very often. Hell we're comparing Floyd to Ray Robinson, Ray Leonard and Ali. That is damn good company, so obviously he is pretty damn good.

Is anyone else tired of HBO and Showtime scheduling big fights on the same night? October 7: I want to watch Corrales-Casamoyer, but its the same night as a good card on HBO. Who's fighting the Sat. before? Nobody. November 4: Of course I'm going to buy the PPV on HBO, but now I'm missing Juan Diaz and Roman Karmazin on Showtime. And what's going on a week later? Not a damn thing. December 2: Winky-Quartey is one I'd like to see, but now I'm missing one of my favorite's in Cotto. Who's fighting Sept. 25th? HA Jesus Chavez is the only fight listed and he doesn't even have a scheduled opponent yet. I understand its about competition and taking business away from the competitor, but what about the fans? Showtime is losing at least one viewer in me. I would love to pay the $15 for Showtime, but I'd only watch it for the boxing and why do that when they schedule all their fights the same nights as HBO's?
