Good, DLH just saved himself 1 million and a half dollars, cus Sr. offers absolutely nothing so the outcome woulda been the same as it would be with any other trainer.
dont forget this works both ways and pbf is probably hoping to get daddy out of the picture so he can focus. yeah hates a great motivator but it is also a giant distraction especially under the circumstances

No Floyd Sr = easy UD for PBF.

I just bumped my thread poll on this issue.
If this is correct - I never had any doubt.
Lol, good night De La Hoya. Decision for Floyd Mayweather Jr.
Its not completely official but if he doesn't have Floyd Sr.(and if Sr really knows how to beat Jr) Oscar is really missing out.
Then again with or without Sr, if Floyd can box and move at 154 Oscar will lose IMO.

LOL!
Are you Floyd Sr? I didn't know Sr. was the only trainer in boxing.
Put it like this! Delahoya made Sr. by allowing Sr. to train him.
This is great news, its good to see that Delahoya sees that Sr. and Jr. are playing Delahoya.
Delahoya should get Nacho Berstein or Dan Goosen or Taylors ex trainer.
At the same time, people who are going to buy the fight are going to buy the fight.
No one is going to not buy the fight because FLoyd Sr. isnt there, and on that same note, very few people would ust buy the fight because its father and son in the same corner.
Oscar knows how to fight.
Oscar knows how to train.
Floyd Sr. will have no affect on Oscars preformance, but we might see a slight dip in the PPV numbers.
I agree, the whole Floyd Sr. angle takes something away in a sense.

We shouldn't even be talking about this because until Oscar comes out and makes an official announcement this all rumor and bullshit. None of this means anything. This is all just rumore to stir things up and give us something to talk about it. I will wait and see what Oscar says and none of this means anything until than. If this does go down, and Floyd and Sr is stubborn enough to not train Oscar because he is demanding so much money than he is hurting himself more than hurting Oscar. He will never make the type of money Oscar will give him and he will be on the outside looking in while evryone gets paid. Oscar can win without him, and having him may be more of a distraction than what it is worth. You know once he gets around all the media leading up to this fight he is gonna want ot be in the lime light and may not be as focused as he should be. I think this is being made more of an issue than it should be and blown out of proportion. Either way Oscar doesn't need Mayweather to win. Like I said he wold probably be more of a distraction and Oscar could be more focused and not have to deal with the circus without him.
I don't know. B-Talk is the most reliable boxing site out there. If my man G. Leon reports it, its usually fact.
they report alot of rumors that turn out to be just rumors....

I can name off about 1000 things reported there that wasnt fact because the fighter or promoter was using the site to swerve the press.
I wont believe anything until De La Hoya's official announcement next week.

There was also plenty of video going around with Floyd Sr. begging for a fight between Oscar and his son to never happen. He said he would never be part of such a fight and would discourage Oscar from fighting him. There is also tons of coverage of Oscar saying that he would NEVER fight Floyd Jr. because of the respect he has for Floyd Sr.
Until there is an official press release from Golden Boy that says __________ is training De La Hoya, then I will believe it.
yeah u right, they do say one thing and do another, but so close to fight night though, i don't know the fight is like 3 months away.
they have video of him saying that though

WTF are you getting these #'s from?
Far not every PPV generates these #'s today.. and Mayweather SR. alone will give you 250 buys?!
This is just stupid :nono:
Anyone who is willing to pay for this fight will already buy it regardless.
You mean to tell me that if Sr is there you will buy it and if it's someone else in his corner you won't?
IMO it will not add up to evan 1% in change variation
I was exaggerating, but I think it will hurt the fight's mainstream appeal. I'd buy it no matter who was in the corner, but let's face it, the mainstream push this fight will get from ESPN and the like is going to boost buys significantly. How many sports fans even KNEW about fights like Mayweather-Baldomir and other recent PPVs?
