I don't understand why Haye, after all his BS, didn't sign the contract and including a hefty fine for Wlad if he was to pull out due to injuries suffered in the Chisora tune-up.
It's really not that hard. After all he has said Haye should show a little more interest in getting this fight done. I smell *****.
whats wlad going to do with the speed of haye?
remember haye broke his hand which suggests to me he is very injury prone, the fact he also had a bandage around his calf before the harrison fight was hilarious
wlad is very cautious, as is haye but watch haye land his shots and get out of the way, I guarantee you Haye will win
Haye will get punished pretty badly the way he moves in with so little guard. If anyone has to alter style it's Haye if he wants to last more than 7 rounds.
Mike Tyson faced 8 opponents (+9 other with unknown birth dates) who were younger, for example Bruce Seldon.
Floyd Patterson faced 18 (+ 8 unknown) opponents who were younger for example Muhammad Ali, Jimmy Ellis or Tom McNeely.
Also the median age is bewildering
* David Haye: 34yro opponents (whole career)
* Floyd Patterson:26 yro opponents (whole career)
* Mike Tyson: 29yro (whole career)
You see, it's not only that he NEVER faced YOUNGER opponents, it's the TYPICAL AGE of opponents that looks suspicious, especially since Haye spent most of his career at cruiserweight where the fighters are usually younger.
Does this mean that Tyson was 30 before he faced anyone who was younger?
How old is Haye?
The Haye-fight was dead and Wlad wanted to ensure he could stay active so he signed for the secondbest opponent.
Unfortunately for Haye his sub-opponent was sadly killed in a cycling accident but rumour has it that Booth is persuading Frank Bruno to make a comeback.
what's Hayes defining moment at HW?
1: Going life and death with the shot Monte Barrett?
2: Barely getting by the statue Valuev?
3: Brutally KO'ing Harrisson in a rare clash of non-stop action british heavies?
4: That was all.
The comparison is lame because Patterson and Tyson are the YOUNGEST heavyweight champions of all time.
Moreover the comparison is lame because a lot of their opponents' birth dates are missing.
But to answer your question: Yes they both faced younger opponents when they were champs.
Who did they face?
I like this thread on the fact that thread starter actually went lengths and did his research
The style is very revealing. I think the TS is on his 3'rd or 4'th account now.
Haye doesn't believe that some boxers fight more than once a year despite the fact that many boxers fights tune-ups some 8 weeks before a biggie. Chisora would have been the perfect prelude to Haye-Wlad and yet Haye somehow doesn't think so.
It seems clear to me that Haye in reality doesn't want Wlad. If he really did, then he should have just demanded that Wlad was to be fined a huge sum, if he was to postpone the fight due to injuries sustained in the Chisora fight. :nonono:
I lost respect for joe when he ducked froch..froch begged him for a fight and he turned to cocain..good old cat slapper should be ashamed..he got beat by hopkins just look at his face after the fight b-hop smashed him...well roy is a different story, cat slap waited till roy turned 50 to fight him lol..so anyways danny green>>> joe calzaghe.
When was it that you think Joe ducked froch?
Haye should just have signed to fight Wlad and allowed him the tune-up. What's the big deal? It's not like that would be a first.
Besides he could sign the contract under the condition that Wlad pay a fine if he has to postpone due to injury sustained in the Chisora tune-up.
is it not correct to say that haye cant sign to fight wlad until after wlads tune up fight?
No. That is not correct and history proves it. Plenty of examples of tune-ups 2 months before a major fight.
Haye said they knew nothing about the Chisora negotiations and that the fight was made without any warning.
So why not just include a hefty fine if Wlad has to postpone due to injury from the Chisora fight?
After all the delay was because the brits couldn't get Khan of the air. Not klits fault.
I am simply going by a timeline of events that were reported to be happening, I will not draw any conclusions from what David Haye says as his track record of going on record is poor. What happened was Sky kicked both april dates(16th and 30th) and there was no date in may or june that would satisfy both networks. July 2nd date was offered and agreed on, under the condition that Wlad will have a tune up, not an unheard of thing in pro boxing.
Haye will have to have complete ignorance of details if he was to never mention or ask what Wlad was going to do with Chisora, as he was an important variable at that moment.
Very good point. Chisora was a factor. That could never come as a surprise for Haye/Booth.
No, that would be very unusual of David Haye -- it would show that he has a flexible mind that always looks for ways to accomplish his heavyweight promises and take advantage of dynamic situations...Something he has no history of showing.
True true.
I smell bullsh1t.
I dont know what is Haye's problem with fighting Chagaev, because in case he beats him he will get exactly twice as much from his fight with Wlad then if he decides to stay home till july 2nd
Chagaev presents a huge danger for Haye. It would be his first live opponent since he left cruiserweight.
Sadly not based on what I saw in Chagaev's last fight. Haye can easily bike for 12 rounds there with 5-6 punches per round output and he will still get a W agaisnt Chagaev
Well there's always the chance that the Chagaev that fought Valuev shows up in which case Haye might be in trouble.
