the punch and grab as much as you can strategy doesn't work against David Haye.
Wlad's hero John Ruiz who has mastered that boxing style was no match against Haye.
I think Wlad need's another style, maybe something that requires some boxing skills. Time will tell if he can adapt.
What do you guys think? Will the punch and grab as much as you can style work for Wlad this time?
Ruiz was having a lot of success with his jab against Haye. This is a major issue.
Hate to come across like Wlad Owns here but,
Wlad's piston jab + Haye's atrocious head movement = Haye gets his shit pushed in.
this shit right here... plus Haye does not have the reflexes of a cat and that ass will get taxed
People are really underestimating Wlad's jab, He doesnt need to punch and hold and frankly i havent seen him do that for a while now. Wlad is a different fighter and Haye would either need to bumrush him early and hope to land something big or move around a lot to avoid punishment, either way Wlad takes this.
I may have to watch Haye vs Valuev again, because that was a more disciplined and cagey Haye, but I have always worried about Haye's head movement vs Wlad's jab.
Haye will need to be alert and improve his head movement and defence of the jab. Wlad will have to expect to get more trouble from Haye than he has had in recent fights, but I would expect him to want to fight the same way as normal keeping Haye at range with his jab.
Wlad hasn't fought anyone who runs all night and averages 12 punches per round in his entire career so he will have to adapt to Haye's pathetic style to get him out of there fast.
Expect Haye to fight like he did against Valuev, Wlad will probably just stand in the center of the ring and beg him to stop running and fight.
Terrible reasoning with this post.
Ruiz fights absolutely nothing like he did a decade ago against the likes of Andrew Golota. He dropped the hug thing a long time ago.
Wlad will be able to hit and hold all night.
wlad will have to fight different, uncharacteristicly different to what he is comfortable and set in,he will not be able to change up that much.
he can only hope he is sharper and has more to offer than jab right hand, reluctant left hook and uppercut.his reactions to everything have to be quicker than what he has ever been used to before.
haye will have no problems catching wlad, his fast counters will land, those big 1 2s and 1,2,3 combos will land, and haye will then move under and away before wlad can retaliate.
he can fight out the clinch, like vs ruiz,or attack and stop them clinching, also vs valuev he managed to still get big punches off when valuev held his head.
wlad only really holds the head when he does hold, anyone can swing overhand punches, and even duck under and out from the clinches.
im sure they will tell the ref to watch out for wlad leaning on haye, making the ref more aware and quicker to break this up.
i just feel as good as wlads hand speed, foot speed and combinations might look vs most people, haye has superior speed of hand and foot and better than it looks defense that will confuse and fluster wlad.
even when chageav simply pawed and bobbed and weaved vs wlad for the first round or so,it stopped wlad landing so many punches of any effectiveness and made him look less comfortable.
you watch chambers able to get right hands off on wlad early on,despite no power,he gets them through a bit,but he was too planted and still in the upper body aswell as footwise and also staying on the ropes and the outside.
a lot of guys manage to do slight defensive tricks to halt klitshcko attacks, but they dont then go on and use this as a way to attack, theres no transition from defending to then counter.
Haye has good footwork and reflexes. I don't see Wlad landing bigSo guys like Mormeck, Fragomeni, Barrett and Ruiz were able to hit Haye a couple of times, sometimes with big powershots. But Wlad - who is 10 times superior to any of these guys - will be unable to connect because Haye's defense is so good?
Interesting theory.
ive got a feeling this could be one of the most boring fights until one of them starts landing.
haye has shown caution against HW's in Valuev & Harrison. Wlad reminds me a lot of Harrison, big, but fights scared, but clearly a country mile ahead of Harrison in every single department, maybe other then selling himself and getting fans wanting to tune in.
i can see both Haye and Wlad both doing nothing much like the Haye Harrison fight because they are both scared their entire career is about to come tumbling down.....and for the loser, it really does. Wlad has more to lose here i think and i think he will be worried...its just the way he is and i dont think that he will be able to change both his worrying and his jab & clinch way of fighting that has got him to where it has today.....Haye could end up eating Wlads jab and being brutally knocked out if he tries to out jab him....i see him rushing Wlad once the fight gets going....i'm definately taking Haye over Wlad, as i think he will take the chance and i dont think Wlad will...i think he will stick to the safety first cautious approach that has worked so well....if he lands first though it will be game over for Haye as he has never been hit by someone like Wlad...i just hope it happens soon
its not gonna be boring. Wlad doesn't just stand and do nothing like Harrison. He pops his jab. If Haye does not attack or counter, hes gonna get jabed to death and eventually knockt out.

Haye has had 4 horrible fights at heavyweight with horrible opposition. You can't tell me Ruiz, Valuev, Barrett and Harrson compare to fighting a Klitschko. That is just a huge huge joke.
David Haye picks his opponents smart.
Barret is not really a threat so he pickt him as his first HW fight to get used at that weigh class
Valuev and Harrison are tall he pickt them so he can get used to fighting tall opponents
And ruiz so he can get used to a ***** ass ****** with no real boxing skill who wants to clinch like a ***** for 12 rounds

Haye can't win this fight in my opinion. You're forgetting that the version of Ruiz that Haye fought was nothing more than a finished journeyman, and even at that point he still had a lot of sucess with his jab. And he didn't even hug as much as he usually does. Sure Haye does have some boxing skills, but his main problem is that when he's boxing, he isn't throwing at all. He could seriously average like 20 or less punches a round in a boxing match. He's most effective when he's fighting, especially against bigger guys, as we saw against Harrison and Valuev.
I think Haye should fight Vitali first. Its a much more winnable fight, and it'll prepare him for Wlad because they have similar styles.

that's funny because i remember john ruiz peppering Haye at will with his jab. Wlad's jab is John Ruiz's jab times 300.
Wlad will annihilate Haye
whats wlad going to do with the speed of haye?
remember haye broke his hand which suggests to me he is very injury prone, the fact he also had a bandage around his calf before the harrison fight was hilarious
wlad is very cautious, as is haye but watch haye land his shots and get out of the way, I guarantee you Haye will win
Haye will get punished pretty badly the way he moves in with so little guard. If anyone has to alter style it's Haye if he wants to last more than 7 rounds.
Haye was on his bike against Valuev. (A fight I think he LOST.) What's he gonna' do with Wlad? Try and get inside? Good luck with THAT! He'll get flattened!
