Castillo has the better Lightweight record but Mosley was a better talent. I'd take Mosley in a head to head match and I'd rank him slightly ahead of Castillo historically.
I agree...
Hey don't know who u are but if they turn pac threads in to jmm its maybe because every barerra and morales thread gets turned to a pac one
TOO TRUE!!!
Another nuthugging response. Do you know how to ask questions without trying to insult someone in the process or are you mad cuz I didnt give him all 12 rounds?? If you dont like that I gave him those rounds it really sounds like a personal problem to me.
It's funny when someone asks you to explain how you scored rounds, you get all pissed iff and then have toinsult back. So what made you score those rounds for Baldy?
I think Williams would be a tougher fight than Margarito. I think Williams would beat Margarito but would get popped shot all night by Floyd. Williams looked impressive as far as what he's been working on but still has a lot of flaws. He needs to get De La Hoya and the big payday off his mind and take a few more key fights to stamp himself.
williams is too open for tony NOT to hurt him. if he had better defense i'd probably give it to williams but his D sucks. his offense is his D and you cant beat him like that.
williams i think would find a way to get to floyd. his long arms would not allow floyd to clinch like that for 12 rounds and floyd will eventually start backing up into the ropes allowing williams to unload and if he lands... expect to see floyd really hurt for the first time.
i agree with ya to some degree but like I said Williams does have a lot of flaws. But I still don't think Margarito can handle him. Williams even said he hurt Margarito in a training session. Both these guys can't touch floyd.
its simple, he is criticized because of the shit talking he does, he claims he ducks nobody, then ducks Margarito
He's trying to make the most of his money, can't blame him for that. Seriously. Margartio? I'm so sick of all this talk on how Margartio would dominate Floyd.
You obviously saw he didnt "just" ask me to explain. I wont explain anything to someone who tries to ridicule me in the process for not seeing it his way. Do you agree?
I rewatched them this morning and I only gave baldi 8 and 12. Those were round where floyd didnt really do much and baldi was the aggressor landing some nice body shots and actually landing some to his head.
I can agree with that.
oh my..............what performance ?
His Great One! why is everybody hating so much on his performance. Floyd put on a great performance. yeah i was getting a little bored with the fight at the end but I can't knock em for that. What happened to "Cinderella Man"? Why is all the blame being put on Floyd? He injured his hand in the fight. He put on some beautiful boxing. Stick to your UFC or Butterbean fights if ya want knockouts all the time. Aprreciate the sport for what it is.
I heard Oleg stopped Vitali in the Amateurs. You can throw out the McCall and Tua loss( in a fight Maskaev was winning if I recall correctly) He never should have been fighting them that early in his career. I agree that Oleg has the tools to beat any heavyweight now that he has his confidence back after bad losses starting with that lucky hook by Johnson who was scared shitless. How many guys could have came back winning after those bad losses. That has to say something for the guy.
I agree that maybe Oleg shouldn't have been fighting Tua or McCall that early in his career. But Johnson was 29-0 with 21 KO's going into that fight. I don't think it was a lucky punch. I'll give him credit for staying strong and being impressive in a division that hasn't lately.
Because Mayweather took Zabs punches at 147, even if Margarito somehow hits floyd flush, hes not going to just buckle down and hit the canvas, Floyd is a modern day pernell whitaker, when did you see that shit ever happen to him? Even on Coke Whitaker could barely be touched.
LOL! I love sweet pea
But that is until Andrew Golota decides to start punching again, but that's a different story.
Golota is finished. He will never mentally be able to handle a fight. He will never be in the top. Oleg IMO will never be able to beat Top opposition. Lets see.....got KO'ed by Oliver Mcall, David Tua, Kirk Johnson, and Corey Sanders. Everytime he has stepped up to the plate he's gotten knocked out. I hate to say I told you so...............
The biggest factor, Margaritos ring intelligence doesnt come close to floyds, this is the most important factor of all. Margarito doesnt fight intelligently in all 6 fights i have seen of him, mistake after mistake that a superior fighter could capitolize on plague alot of the bouts ive seen him in. You can throw all the punches you want, percise counterpunching hurts, even corey spinks had Roman Karmazin backing up.
Regardless, i need to see margarito in with someone who is on his level or supposed to be better than him that ISNT named floyd mayweather to make a final judgement on him.
nice! totally agree with ya there
Tony has power, working on his speed, throws between 60 - 100 punches a round, and has great stamina. That is a problem for anyone. Yea it leaves him open but floyd doesnt have the power to earn his respect. I see floyd hurting his hands in this fight but yep, floyd is just doin business but u can only do business so long before you have to take care of business. get it?
Wow, I like this a good debate!
Margarito has a no contest as well as a technical decision loss on his record to Daniel Santos. Not only has he not beaten Santos, but that was considered a step up in class for him. How many people, after looking at Margarito's record, can honestly say that Floyd is not a major step up for him? He does have a win over tough Antonio Diaz (who was never a physically strong guy), Andrew 'Six Heads' Lewis (who never took a punch well) and Kermit Cintron (who broke down mentally, and I would like to see them fight today). Trust me when you get hit with 4-6 hit combos you will gain respect. You don't have need one punch power to gain respect. Floyd has been perfecting his craft over 20 years. He can be beaten. I'm not saying he is invincible but Margarito?
i think duddy should start challenging the top guys in the division in maybe 2 years, possibly more depending on how many fights he has.
Im not gonna say a taylor-duddy fight is impossible. IF taylor and winky do rematch, a duddy-taylor fight would be in march/april oF 2007.
Meaning 1 year from now, taylor-duddy could happen, but it would be a terrible decision on duddys management. He could and would get destroyed. Lack of experience and skill at this point
BUT, anyone who says duddy was "exposed" doesnt know what they are talking about. if anything, he "proved" himself during that war with campas. He learned a TON in that fight, u could even tell as the fight went along.
He proved hes got the heart, the hunger, and the power to give a piece of hell to anyone who steps in the ring across from him. Hes the new gatti, the new main event and HBO/showtime guy. He will be one of boxings most exciting fighters in a year or two. Youd be crazy not to watch this guy fight
I think when duddy is primed at age 29-ish, and taylor would be about the same age, and they are both still undefeated (which is far from unlikely), i think that TAYLOR-DUDDY could be one of the best fights of that time.
One of the most exciting and meaningful fights of that year. That fight could be an absolute war. i would love to see it.
BUT IT ALL DEPENDS ON HOW DUDDY LEARNED AND IMPROVES FROM THE CAMPAS FIGHT. IF WE SEE A NEW DUDDY IN THE RING IN HIS NEXT FIGHT, A TAYLOR FIGHT ISNT OUT OF THE QUESTION
totally agree with ya there. Duddy isn't ready right now and needs a few more fights but proved a lot in a fight with a vet like campos.
I think he has lost a lot of his power since moving up in weight. But the same thing happened to Arguello, so it is nothing new.
i'd have to agree with ya there. A lot of his KO's came from when heas fighting at i belive 122llbs. Maybe moving up in weight has forced him to box more and not trade as much
if you measure power, marg is at the top of thelist. he may not have world class speed, technique but i doubt floyd can handle is power IF he gets hit flush. i agree with everything u say tho but if castillo/tony ever fought castillo would be dragged into a war. one im not sure he can win so his ring smarts would be thrown out the window.
okay you are basing his power off of what fight? Where has this George Foreman like power come from? Trust me even if Castillo and Margarito were to start throwing blows, the pure experience of Castillo being able to slip punches and counter would dominate.
I would have to say Baldomir is the stronger puncher just for being a natural welterweight. But you don't need one punch power to lay a guy out. Floyd hurts by the accumulation of punishment through combinations. When you get hit with multiple clean landing punches it's gonna wear you down and hurt you. I say Mayweather wil play it smart throught the first 4-5 rounds and start to pick Baldi apart with combinations.
