you decide. this guy hasn't KOed/dropped anyone in a long ass while.
Maybe the reason he KOed some of his opponents early in his bantam-feather days, is always because HE IS ALWAYS BIGGER THAN THEM 2 times. Now that he fights opponents his size, he can't hurt them at all. Heck, he couldn't even KD a bloodied up Pacquiao (natural featherweight, much smaller than him) in their 1st fight.
pls vote and put your thoughts.
and I'm not discrediting Morales. I'm giving my opinion, and 2 possibilities why his KO ratio has gone down in these past few years.
1 being, that he started Winning gloves which lessens power
2 being, that maybe, he was just too big for the bantam guys he fought.
Last sentence of the 3rd paragraph.

This is the only thing I can find right now, but I'm dead sure, Pacquiao said Barrera hits harder than Morales in his interviews in the past.
Punch for punch Morales might be a stronger puncher than MAB but MAB's technique & delivery is alot better. He gets better leverage on his punches than Morales & punches much better in close quarters. In my opinion MAB is the better puncher even now because he has better technique & can maximize his power.
I aggree, i too belive Morales hits harder then Barrera.
In their 3rd fight i belive Morales almost knocked down Barrera twice. And in their second fight, the body shot by Morales looked legit to me.
Barrera does have the faster hands, imo. And the left hook to the body thats was at one time Barreras favorite punch i got to say he has a better left hook to the body then Morales.
Even Pacman said that in those very excact words.
Thats a good post. Not every tall guy can crack especially when that guy has moved up several weight classes. People in arguments like this always forget that there is nothing wrong with being a great BOXER not everything is about the KO.
By the way no way in hell is MAB anywhere near the puncher Morales was or is. That came out of left field, im sorry.

You're kidding me right? Tell me you're kidding?
You really have not been a boxing fan for long have you?
Being disresspectfull to Zaragosa the "ageless warrior" just prove how little you know about the fighters you are talking about. Kelly was shot, yet he was still about to put up a fight. And he wasn't as shot as he was when he fought Bobby Pacuqioa.
You're showing your ignorance when it comes to boxing.
Have you not seen tall fighters who can't hit worth shit? Or are you just starting to watch boxing? Not ever tall fighter can crack. Watch other boxing matchs besides the big cards.
Steward also said Barrera shouldn't fight Rocky again.
What Morales has is his style.
You know i can say the same bullshit about pacquiao who threw a shit load of arm punchs against Morales.
You tell lies about a fighter, well not lies, you just don't understand the boxer or what you are talking about.
Here a theory, "you step up in competition, then you realize you aint going to knock everybody out."
Sometimes a fighter just wants to win, when he knows he's not on point. So he goes out their and just gets the win, "if a knock out comes, it comes" he don't go after the ko.
So in your theory Roy Jones Jr. wasn't a Ko puncher?

From a long, wirey frame like that, if you aren't Tommy Hearns you're doing something wrong. Zaragosa was 107 when he got stopped in 11 and Kelley was shot and lacking any kind of confidence by the time Morales took 7 rounds to get him out of there. Other than that, I don't remember a significant knockout from Morales.

In several fights, Emmanuel Steward himself referred to Morales as an arm puncher who threw alot of good technical combinations with sacrificed power. It's not easy to throw full power on combos and keep your balance.
Steward also said Barrera shouldn't fight Rocky again.

I always find it humorous that whenever I disagree with you about Morales or Barrera, you have to resort to the argument that I haven't followed either of their careers. What you fail to realize is that you don't really know me so keep your observations about my viewing of the sport private unless you can back your arguments up with any real proof.

Now, after reviewing the video that you posted, I recognize the Espadas knockout, which took place on Oct 4, the same day of Toney's demolition of Evander Holyfield. I can't regard that as a significant knockout given the geography and timing of the fight. Where was that power in the first fight? Espadas had begun to slow by then but nonetheless, that was a great knockout. I still don't understand why he couldn't knock anyone else out, but perhaps you could because I've only been following Morales since 1997.

Just a plain stupid post.
Damn, you really havn't followed much of Morales or Barrera.

Tell Zaragosa about his arms punchs or Kelly about Morales arm punchs. I dont need you to be nice. What you need to do is explain your silly observation. Its no secret Morales isn't in his prime form as he used to be, so goes his power maybe goes his technique but to say arm punchs is a joke. You want to say he's not the same as he used to be, i could see that, but to just call him an arm puncher is ridicules.

At the lower weights, he really just over powered the smaller fighters into submission. He's never to my eyes gotten a guy out of there with 1 shot. Barrera to me is a much bigger puncher cuz he throws shorter, more accurate shots. Plus Barrera goes to the body more frequently, which is essential to stopping a good fighter.
Damn, you really havn't followed much of Morales or Barrera.
Heres two fighters Morales ko'd with ONE PUNCH - watch after 4 second, then he gets the ko's with one punch.
It's either I say arm punches or that he's feather fisted. It's either one or the other and I'm trying to be nice here.
BTW, when a fighter doesn't move his feet or hips when punching, it's called arm punching.

I don't think i ever remember hearing people say Morales was a knock out artist. In his fight against Zaragosa, Larry Merchant even said somthing similar.
