100% correct. Baer had so much potential; but liked the good life too much. Rumor was he got laid in the dressing room before the fight....don't know if it's true; but that's a hell of a funny rumor. :)

Braddock showed good boxing ability when he beat Max Baer, who was sloppy; but a hard puncher and an aggressor. Rock might have been awkward; but he was far more dedicated to his craft than was Baer.
So you think Marciano is a harder hitter than Baer?? If thats the case, then that's absolutely ridiculous. I agree that Baer is a sloppy fighter but so is Marciano. I actually think Baer had a better chance beating Jim than Rock.

Personally, I see nothing similar about their styles; but for the sake of arguement, if you take Braddock when he was champ and Marciano when he was champ, Marciano wins IMO. Rock was in his prime when he won the belt and Braddock was far removed from it. Jimmy took a helluva shot, so it would go a while; and his uppercuts would give Rock fits, me thinks. But, I see Rock wearing him down and stopping him in the middle to later rounds...probably later given Jimmy's relative slickness.
I wasn't sure since I've only seen one of Braddock's fight and kinda reminded me of Marciano that's why I made this thread. I think Marcian is a bit overrated, but he's powerful no doubt about that. I can see him knocking down Jim but I don't see him winning the fight if it goes the distance. And I'm sure Braddock's chin will be there for the rest of the fight.

He makes a a lot of good points there. I fear the future of boxing. Because UFC is taking over boxing, fast. And the UFC being much popular and have more fans and audiences than boxing is inevitable. The Hughes-St.Piere fight had 700,000 buys. Thats twice compared to Pacquiao-Morales. And even though Pacquiao is the most exciting fighter in boxing, he is no Oscar De La Hoya when it comes to PPV buys..
