I don't know where you got these numbers from because Dana White himself said that the biggest drawing ppv they had was the 600,000 for the Hughes/Gracie event. This was after the last UFC.
Could you provide a source on that?
tito vs ken shamrock did 775,000 ppv
Also the Recent Hughes vs Penn ufc 63 did 700,000 ppv buys.

I'm sure Floyd did a tiny bit less then that but people where laughing and saying he wasnt a big draw :ugh:
Floyds numbers were OK.. BUT when you are the SELF PROCLAIMED greatest boxer EVER!!!! You should not getting worse numbers than ANYBODY...
For an organization that started more than 10 years ago doing PPV that's a long time for fighters to be dumb. If UFC is really making money, there should have been critics/people who would complain about this.
ya tito ortiz was one and frank shamrock...see if a fighter complains he is not making much dana white can make that fighter look like less of a fighter by telling the public this guy cares more about the money and not the fight! he doesnt care for fans being happy! and guess what the fans are so dumb they believe that haah.
its sad trully a fighter getting paid 2 grand and having to split that 5 ways and then take tax money from that 2 grand...what is he left with? 25 bucks .
a big reason why some fights dont get as many buys is because
they arent as important and the fact you can watch it for free
a week later
ufc you can only see it that time or buy a dvd
if you couldnt see the fight the following week for sure
on hbo there would be alot more ppv buys
good point.

It was a very good PPV. I think that the 350 000 ppv buys are US numbers. For this particular fight the international numbers will be quite a bit bigger I think. It was a very good show. Lets not forget Arnouitis versus Torres undercard as well. That was an excellent fight.
Then I don't understand why UFC/Pride fighters makes less money. Not one of them is a million dollar fighter while there are about 50 boxers have already recieved at least a million dollar recently.
the fighters get paid less because they are dumb it seems....ufc guys are not slick to business yet because if you think of it the promoters or owners of the ufc and pride are making more money then these promoters in boxing...and dana white of ufc keeps saying arum and king are shady he does this to steer his ignorant fans from thinking he is a shady but from the numbers of millions made from ufc ppv he is indeed shady....he is taking more money then don king and arum combined.
yup...thats why ufc is so huge! all these suburban spoiled rich kids think they can be fighters now.
FUCK OFF Hectari.. do you even know what HUGE means? Huge is 75000 gate reciepts Like the NFL... or 120000 gate reciepts like Soccer or even 21000 like NHL Hockey.. these are huge numbers.. Boxing is fringe .. so what.. we are the best fans in the world.. if a buch of gay frat boys want to watch to guys roll around good for them.. and OH yeah did I mention .. FUCK OFF? just in case.. FUCK OFF!!!! FUCK YOU AND YOUR UFC agenda.. ONE MORE TIME.. then.. FUCK OFF!!!
So when Floyd fights Mr. Nobody he generates 330,000+, and people say "he can't sell PPV"
But when 2 superstars of the sport Pacquiao and Morales together combine 350,000, they can only manage 20k more than a one man show?
So what? Morales and Pac had already fought twice and most people understood Pac would win this 3rd fight by stoppage. That affects the buying of it.
350,000 is not bad. About the same as Jones-Ruiz did.
While the UFC draws very well with white Americans. I really don't think MMA is for want of a better time, the sport of white America. People say that but, the truth is, white Americans don't dominate MMA.
If you look at the MMA Weekly tops ten for heavyweight you have...
HEAVYWEIGHT DIVISION (over 205 pounds)
#1 Heavyweight Fighter in the World: Fedor Emelianenko ( A white Eastern European)
2. Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipović ( A white Eastern European)
3. Josh Barnett (A white American)
4. Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira (A Hispanic Brazilian)
5. Tim Sylvia (A white American)
6. Andrei Arlovski ( A white Eastern European)
7. Fabricio Werdum (A Hispanic Brazilian)
8. Aleksander Emelianenko ( A white Eastern European)
9. Mark Hunt (A pacific islander)
10. Sergei Kharitonov ( A white Eastern European)
Half of that top ten is made up of Eastern Europeans.
If you look at the top for 205 lbs weight class it's even more pronounced. There is only one white American fighter in the 205lbs top ten. There are six fighters of Hispanic descent, five whom are from Brazil.
#1 Light Heavyweight Fighter in the World: Chuck Liddell (A white American)
2. Mauricio "Shogun" Rua (A Hispanic Brazilian)
3. Wanderlei Silva (A Hispanic Brazilian)
4. Ricardo Arona (A Hispanic Brazilian)
5. Antonio Rogerio Nogueira (A Hispanic Brazilian)
6. Renato "Babalu" Sobral (A Hispanic Brazilian)
7. Tito Ortiz (A Hispanic American)
8. Quinton Jackson (An African-American)
9. Alistair Overeem (A black guy from Holland)
10. Kazuhiro Nakamura (A Japanese guy)
Those numbers are true and they only represent US PPV's: http://www.mmaweekly.com/absolutenm/templates/dailynews.asp?articleid=2359&zoneid=3
Just like Filipino, Mexicans, Puerto Ricans and African-Americans fans support their fighters, white Americans will support theirs, as simple as that.
yup...thats why ufc is so huge! all these suburban spoiled rich kids think they can be fighters now.
these #'s are probably world wide.
Send me a link or something, i dont believe it makes that many. Especially considering i hardly heard of the sport until a couple years ago

its actually closer to 400,000 than people think according to some sources....hopefully it gets cleared up in the next couple of days......anyways great numbers for a great fight....no matter what people say that was morales last stand against the younger hungrier fighter and have no issuse on how he went out.....overall a very good PPV.....
Nothing satisfies you, does it? floyd made about exactly the same amount of buys if I remember right. in fact, if i'm not wrong, mayweather/baldomir did a little less. Again your negativity gets the best of you. It really does sound like you have an mma agenda here. At least try to get your facts straight before you compare the two sports. and I don't think anybody mentioned anything about UFC. Why do you constantly feel the need to bring this up?
Thank you, I have been saying this for some time now, this guy knows shit about boxing and he clearly favors the UFC over boxing.
Actually, the highest amount of PPV buys the UFC has ever made was 400,000 for UFC 57..and that was earlier this year when Chuck Liddell faced off against Randy Cououre..
tito vs ken shamrock did 775,000 ppv
matt hughes vs royce gracie did like 660,000 ppv
