I find the argument that he has been knocked down so therefore he should be lower on the P4P list silly and shows how far people are willing to reach to discredit Inoue. I know this is a boxing forum, but a lot of fighters in the UFC would not even be in the P4P list with the amount of those who are on it with losses and knockdowns in their careers according to some people here. Inoue was knocked down twice, picked himself back up from the canvass, and stopped both of them.
The goal posts never stop moving. He should fight Fulton, fight Bam, fight Nakatani, move up, move down, fight Usyk, fight Crawford. It's insanity.
We are witnessing a quite impressive run from a boxer who says retirement is not too far out. Enjoy it while it lasts
Hmm, not sure if this sells it for me. They should probably go back to 10/2s. I think 12/3s might be a bit too much for Women's boxing. Women's boxing is known for relentless pace. Ah well.
Shut out for Baumgardner.
People will cry bad stoppage probably, but that was the correct call. Woodley had no idea where the hell he was or what the hell hit him. Not bad for 50 years old lol
The combined IQ of the Netflix announcers is somewhere in the double digits. You can just see the dumb spilling out of their mouf.
Yeah the commentary has just been dreadful to listen to.
Jumping up to super feather and still missing weight is insane. And to think Fulton wants to move up to lightweight too. Oof. Just come back down to 126.
The difference is negligible if you're already a natural puncher. I'd go that far as to say as a more padded glove might be better for a natural puncher. It hits consistently everytime. There's something to be said for having that level of confidence in your gear, where you know what it does. Whereas a horse hair padded glove could start breaking down inconsistently, possibly leading to injuries.
This is where I'm at. Just for reference, both Inoue and Tank have delivered devastating KOs using Winning gloves. You either have that punching power, or you don't.
I posted my thoughts on this in a similar thread a while back, but I have Inoue by UD. I feel Fulton will rely heavily on his lateral movement and defense to successfully keep Inoue off of him throughout the fight and avoid getting knocked out, but Fulton probably won't do much offensively to sway the judges in his favor.
A small minority of boxing fans thinking this will end up another Mayweather vs Pacquiao will be off the mark on that one. Inoue's explosive speed and power is quite incredible. And he's exponentially improved since Donaire 1. He almost has no wasted movement.
But you also have to give credit to Fulton's defense as well. Felt like I was watching a different fighter when he was up against Roman compared to his bout against Figueroa. So excited for this fight. Maybe more than Spence vs Crawford. Getting closer and closer.
It's a shame your university doesn't offer a Wrestling program. Depending on your class workload, health, fitness level -- cross-training Boxing and Wrestling would have made you into a killer.
I love boxing, but I would pick MMA here. Learn some takedowns & submissions. How often you should train all depends like I said on how much you have going on with classes and if you're not dealing with injuries. The more mat time the better. Only you know the answer to this.
On the bright side, the power of the internet lets you watch different Wrestling/Jiu-Jitsu/MMA videos that you can add to your game. Obviously, listen to your coach and ask questions. But when you're out of the gym, keep your brain active with watching and researching to improve your style. It's funny because students would do techniques that the Coach didn't teach and he would be like "Looks like some of you fuckers have been watching a lot of Youtube."
Have fun and don't overwork yourself.
