Yup Mayweather made sure to never match up tank with lomo early on. Now lomo is older and is obviously past prime he's ripe for the picking. Same thing Canelo did with GGG wait till you see signs of decline then make the fight.
Yes cold and cynical asset protecting but GGG did bite PEDnelo in the butt in their first two fights but the judges were in the corner of Canelo so he was 1-0-1 in the two real fights. Alvarez beat the ghost of GGG in the rubber bout and still faded down the stretch in that fight.
Because the PBC brain trust all of sudden want to fight him. Tank was his mandatory as the regular champion but his management team wanted nothing to do with him until Loma obviously started aging.

Don't people say Loma beat Haney? (Not me.)
Why is Loma all of a sudden old when Davis is mentioned?
Confusing...

Tank just inevitable. That speed and power just too much for anyone close to that weight class
His lack of work rate early could bite him in butt down the line in a super fight against Lomo or another iron chinned guy who could bank rounds.
Also comparing him to Wilder is laughable as Tank looks like a predator in the ring constantly stalking his opponent while Wilder pounced with wild undisciplined combinations, everything Tank throws is pinpoint and precise.
Loma is not old. Look at the ages in co-main tonight. 36-27. Floyd- Canelo 23-36. The good ones can do it. By the time this fight happens, Davis will be 30, Loma 36. Loma fans should stop with the age excuses. Loma could not beat Davis at any point.
Agree with everything up to the last sentence.
Couldn’t disagree more about the last sentence. I don’t think it’s a forgone conclusion that Tank beats Loma now.
The only LW I’m sure beats Loma is Shakur, hence Bob protecting Loma.
Tank can’t afford to give away 4-5 rounds. That is what Loma did with Teo and look what happened.

Very convenient of you to say that. You’re not exactly unbiased here. Me on the other hand, am a fan of both fighters. Also, fighters don’t age the same. And bringing up Gvozdyk is the worst possible example you could’ve come up with. What does that fight even prove? How does that sparring match support your argument?
Why didn’t Tank insist to Mayweather to let him fight Loma then? Seems like all other top fighters with a good name, forced their promoter to give them the opponent that fans claim they’re ducking.
But very convenient for you to say Loma’s age doesn’t matter and that Tank beats any version of Loma. That’s a very dishonest take. Younger Loma can’t defend himself over such a claim, and you can’t be proven wrong about it. So that’s a very dishonest comment.
I saw a vid of him hitting a heavy bag, and he even looked mediocre doing THAT. Dude has no power to speak of. So he's basically a kinda-slick (yet predictable) southpaw with decent timing and quick hands...but can't punch worth a damn. Beating the untested, Dollar General version of Cory Spinks isn't exactly a great victory for someone who claims to be the "face of boxing."
Tank wants to drag Inoue up three weight classes instead of fighting the best at 135. Wait until Loma turns 40.
I give Lomachenko a higher chance than Martin. But Loma is also old. So that says a lot about “what could’ve been” had they fought 5 years ago or so.

You didn't ask me, but I'm going to say, nah.
Loma gets clipped.
Anyways, actually paid for the PPV, wasn’t complete garbage.
It was a good event, I agree.
At Davis?

It’s better than anything else available for Tank.
Better not see no Pitbull rematch.
Nah. I agree with you. I'm not interested to see a Pitbull fight either.
I wanted the Loma fight before Frank. Davis-Loma is still a good fight. I don't see it being too competitive now.

Dude was getting outboxed the majority of the fight. Same as wilder, his power bailed him out again.
Wilder ain't no dam counter puncher with cat like reflexes. I don't see the comparison. Tank sets up his power with feints and traps...oh and his body shots will have your guard down for that hitter quitter. Wilder throws like he's swatting flies.
A better chance than Frank Martin certainly.

Did what he was supposed to do against a guy who never fought anyone. Yawn.

This was the best chance frank would ever have to beat tank after a long layoff. He should've dove on him while the ring rust was clearly there. I'm not sure anyone around this weight class beats him for 12 rds
