His losses are always highlighted but, they came against KO artists mostly but lets see: Prescott - Came early in his career and he was completely written off. Khan displayed great mental strength to bounce back by beating Barrera and then in just under a year after that loss, in his first fight at 140 lb - became world champion. For a guy seen as chinny I felt he silenced his critics there and it couldn’t have been more emphasised by the Maidana performance, a guy who gave Floyd life and death. Peterson - Daylight robbery, controversial loss. Garcia - This is by far the worst defeat of his career at his peak, it should have been an easy points win but he got sparked. Canelo - He was expected to get beaten at this point, so criticisms to defeat a guy 2 divisions above him was harsh, even more so when there was no rehydration clause, but he gave a good account of himself in defeat and showed his world class boxing pedigree, it says something to compete with the elite Crawford - He was shot at this point, lost his legs underneath him and was outclassed, I think Crawford gives him issues even in his prime Then there are impressive victories over world class fighters / former champions such as Barrera, Kotelnik, Paulie, Maidana, Zab Judah, Collazo and Devon Alexander - majority of these fighters were ranked in the top 5/10 of the division at the time so the wins deserve big respect and Khan has always been involved in exciting fights win or lose and fought whoever was willing. A criticism would be, he chased Floyd overly and even let go of a world title shot against Alexander who he’d end up beating later and while his punch resistance was suspect, many fighters were not willing to take a risk against him even if the numbers made sense including Tim Bradley, Floyd, Marquez and Eric Morales - unfortunately for Khan, they hurt his case for HOF a bit because a win over Bradley, Marquez or Floyd would have secured his place in the HOF, don’t get me wrong you can still make a case but to cement it he needs one more win against either a top 5/10 fighter in a division or someone considered a puncher / favourite to bust him up

Outside the casual / bigoted boxing fans here in the UK, I'd like to think Americans respect Khan's career given their understanding of the sport. Here's a man that won the Olympic Silver medal aged 17, became world champion at 22 and then would go onto beat the best ranked fighters in Ring Magazine's ratings at 140lb before falling short at winning the lineal title when he was defeated by Garcia. However, Khan is rarely in a dull fight and has fought roughly 10-15 world champions, that was roughly the number of world champions from Britain more recently; the point is, he has never shy'd from testing himself against the best and has always displayed a lot of character to bounce back from devastating KO defeats and he always shows a lot of heart when he fights, I've never seen him quit and he always gets back up. His resume includes wins over Kotelnik, Malignaggi, Marcos Maidana, Zab Judah, (controversial loss to Lamont Peterson he should have got the decision there), Diaz, Collazo, Alexander and Algieri. It just goes to show he had the desire to establish his world championship status. Am sure most would have had him as the favourite to beat Garcia, he had a terrible camp in the lead up to that fight, Alex Ariza who was instrumental in his career had been fired, there was in-fighting amongst his team and Roach was barely there; in fact there is footage prior to that fight of him getting involved in reckless sparring session just days before his fight. Then during the fight itself he performed like a moron, overly aggressive not helped by the best camp and had also allowed angel garcia to get in his head. Having said that I felt the stoppage was a little premature but Garcia deserved to win, but lets be honest; Amir should have won that fight but we need to put things into perspective with regards to what contributed to his defeat. Further, his second high profile loss to Canelo (don't really bring up the Prescott one because he bounced back from that fight and proved himself to be a world class fighter) was simply because he was outweighted heavily by a guy who was physically stronger; despite that Khan was causing him problems for as long as he lasted but its silly ridiculing him for that defeat. On the other hand, Kell Brook has fought bum after bum, was lucky to get a decision in America against Porter, then he desperately tried to avoid facing his mandatory's by facing the likes of Gavin and No No Dan as a World Champion! before being forced into a corner by Spence, so in his first real test as World Champ, what does he do? he quits in front of his home fans. I find it shocking that Amir is mentioned in the same sentence as Kell, he has had a superior career and was respectable champion; also why would people be so interested in a fight when there is such a big gulf in class? Amir is a World Class fighter who proved that, Kell is something between the domestic and world level. Furthermore, Kell has always fought at the welterweight limit while Khan made his debut as a lightweight; it just goes to show how the match up just doesn't make a lot of sense and even more so given that Kell has moved up to 154lb. The way I read into things, Khan forged a respectable career and made his money's, by no means perfect and should have achieved more but you got to respect him, it takes incredible mental and physical strength to get to the Olympic stage let alone win a medal at 17 by beating up grown men, then winning the world title, getting some great away wins and proving yourself to be a worthy holder of a belt, it takes a lot to win a domestic championship let alone a world championship, many these days have life/death getting to that status and often their reign is short lived but Khan defended his belts against reputable opponents. And now, his career has come towards its tail end; things have not been perfect in his life, he had made some poor decisions but he hopes to fight in 2018 in an attempt to end things on a high, Kell on the other hand is just looking to cash out in career that has been mostly underwhelming, this is why he keeps mentioning Khan who is past his prime and a lot smaller then him, he knows he has a good chance to beat him and make a lot of money, he has no interest in facing the elite at 147 and his promoter has already called out a 154 champion who is in fact a welterweight in the form of Sadam Ali, no disrespect to him but just emphasising the mindset of matchroom and especially Kell Brook; beyond me how overly he is rated in the UK.

Most of what you said is obvious to any real boxing fan but the way Hearn has been handling his fighters isn't so obvious. Well it's getting talked about more now anyway how he steers his fighters away from the real tests and sells trash instead which the British public lap up. Yafai steered away from Inoue. Burnett steered away from Tete. Joshua steered away from Parker/Wilder. Brook steered away from everyone unless it's a payday. Whyte steered away from everyone decent so he can be a buffer for Joshua or a 2nd all British payday for both. Josh Kelly will also be managed this way which is a shame as talented as he is he should be thrown in with the Lions early. A lot is riding on the outcome of Fury's UKAD hearing on December the 11th, if Fury is given the go ahead to resume his Boxing career we may not see AJ face Wilder until 2019, maybe even 2020. This is because the bigger fight from a financial point of view in the UK is AJ v Fury. Wilder is too dangerous for AJ, losing to him will mean that his fight with Fury will not be as big as it could have been plus his purse wouldn't be as fatter. Regardless though, Fury is not going to return anytime soon even if he is cleared given his poor condition although his training has resumed. So it's all about whether or not AJ wants to take the risk? am not sure he will, he's already being stubborn about a 65-35 split in his favour to face Parker.

I know people don't like the idea of Wilder facing Whyte, but from the POV of Eddie Hearn it's not a knock on Wilder, but a win over Whyte would further elevate his appeal in the UK and make the fight with AJ even bigger. Whyte obviously is not ready for the top level just yet but remains a good prospect. Either way, Wilder could still go into a big clash with AJ and draw big numbers given that it is a unification after all

Not sure why people can't be objective beyond their fandom for certain fighters. For the record I believe Wilder beats Joshua by knock out but it is beyond me how anyone can even remotely defend Wilder's resume, although he deserves credit for stepping up to Povetkin and Ortiz but for obvious reasons those fights not occur. Joshua has already beaten a game Wladmir in his young career and handled the likes of Martin and Brezeale guys who I don't really rate to be fair. But deserves credit for the Whyte victory as well, he's another name worth mentioning. Wilder's best win to date was against Artur Szpilka for me, but that doesn't compare to a victory over Wlad and we're talking about a man who has been the world champion for a while now but has not hunted the big names until now. There's a reason for that, Joshua is an easier fight then Wlad would have been. And now there's criticism being directed at Joshua for not facing Wilder, are you guys kidding me? he stepped up to face Wladmir Klitchko, there's more reason to poise this question at Wilder given his resume. But from what I gauge both are very keen on doing battle, both will be paid extremely well and both will get a shot at unifying the titles. So this point scoring is extremely childish from Wilder and Joshua fans. The fight will happen in 2018 or 2019 at the very latest, there's no doubt about that and I can't wait because I will be there at Wembley, cheering my guy Wilder on even though am a Brit.

Wilder doesn't have the best technique but when he connects, people get seriously hurt. He has the best single punch power in the division and always finds a way to take you out after being out-boxed. AJ has decent power himself but not single punch power, however he has a tendency to get caught and moves like a mummy, there also question marks regarding his endurance. Still, he is the better boxer out the two despite his vulnerabilities. It's a great fight, 50/50.

Good point made here, but how can we conclude he beat a game Wlad? Wlad's effort was there but even he cannot overcome the huge age difference. Also, AJ went the Wlad route because it was mid-risk, high reward for him. AJ did not want to go the Wilder route, because it was high-risk, mid-reward for him. AJ, in my opinion, is not as keen as Wilder to fight the latter. This is because his team is telling him that Wilder could potentially limit AJ's earning potential if AJ gets knocked out and destroy AJ's mystique. Part of why AJ is popular is because of the wins, i.e., the Olympics, undefeated, looks the part, perfect knockout ratio, etc. If Wilder beats him, that mystique is gone. AJ will still make good money but not as much and will not have the reputation he is trying to hold on to as the baddest man which he isn't. Further, Tyson Fury is the man who beat the man legitimately, not a man who beat a man coming from a loss. Just saying... Just for the record I agree that Wladmir was older and he had also been inactive for a long while in the ring, and I also agree that those factors certainly helped AJ in the ring but Wladmir was game on the night, he gave AJ hell and almost beat him; in that moment you'd still rank Wlad among the best in the HW division despite his defeat to Fury a couple of years earlier. And I also agree that the Fury win over Wlad was better, but we also need to give credit where due to AJ ; because he beat a future hall of famer who on the night did not look out of his depth although the age gap/inactivity certainly helped him. I disagree that AJ did not want to go the Wilder route, simply because the British Public wanted to see Wlad/AJ and it was a genuine superfight in the country and we all saw all the success the event achieved. And while Wilder is certainly a more dangerous fight, Wlad/AJ was 50/50 for me and far from not risky at all, if AJ was a guy who wanted to take no risks at all he'd not have taken that fight, he could happily have continued to make a healthy pay day selling out the 02 facing guys like Charles Martin. On the other hand, Wilder has failed to hunt the big names and it took Fury to open up the division for him to wake up a little bit but it would have been nice to see him take on Wladmir when he was on top. Also, win, lose or draw the casual fans here in Britain will still pay big bucks to see AJ; sure he will lose some mystique in defeat but there will always be a lot of interest, see the career of Frank Bruno. AJ is the best media trained guy I've ever seen and he has been marketed extremely well, it makes no sense from his team to duck Wilder given their foothold in the sport of boxing and potential to make so much money. Wilder on the other hand will relish the challenge from the POV of elevating his profile and making some money at the expense of not as much risk because AJ should be easy work for him.

He will fight him without a doubt, look at the money to be made. The fight is an instant sell at wembley. AJ gets some criticism but his resume is already better then Wilder's even though he has fought only 20 times, who were Wilder's best opponents after 20 fights? I wish you guys would think before posting. #1 Fury is 350lb. #2 That means you noobs expect him to lose 100lb in 4 months then after losing the weight be ready for a boxing match of significance? #3 The man doesnt even eat right as we speak. I know some folks who have seen him at pubs drinking pitchers of beers last month. This a man who was baking 12 inch round cakes and eating them during training camps. #4 The man has gained so much weight his voice has changed. think about that. this is real life not a video game. 1. Yes he's very very big. 2. Yes it will take a while to get rid of all that weight. 3/4. And yes he hasn't been eating right or training as of late but he has had issues with BBBofC and UKAD who have been holding back his hearing repeatedly, his case should have been resolved months ago; can we really overly criticise a man who has not had much to aim for as far as his boxing career is concerned? now if Tyson obtained his license again then there would be motivation for him to train harder and take better care of himself, often when there's so much politics going on around you, a fighter can lose a sense of direction. And just to add another point, no one should expect him in the ring any time soon because the biggest hurdle for now is getting his license back and then taking it easy from there, he needs to take his time getting that weight off and not do something which is not healthy due to poor advice from others, then have 3 tune ups to see where he's at physically and mentally. At the end of the day these fighters are human beings after all and a return to the top level may not necessarily be in the best interest of Tyson Fury's health overall. So I hope he is not rushed back and his team are patient with him, all promoters want is to make money that's all they care for, they'd stick Tyson Fury as he stands in the ring if it came to it in order to make some big bucks. But yeah people need to be realistic with regards to the timeline of his comeback, there's a long long way to go.

65-35 is decent for AJ, since he's being increasingly greedy / hypocritical, they should meet somewhere in the middle; 67-33 or 60/30 at the very least should in theory get the fight made. Parker is not a big name but he is a world champion, it takes two to tango and a unification bout will sell huge, matchroom have promoted AJ fights on PPV involving the likes of Martin and more recently Takam; Parker is an improvement over those opponents and his world championship status will help draw a big PPV buy rate with AJ's help off course, I get the feeling they see that he's a threat on paper stylistically so that could also be a reason for why AJ is being stubborn.

I dont quite understand the title. Both guys careers have been over for some time now. Dont get me wrong they still fight occasionally for money but it's more like a hobby that pays you or desperately trying to relive former glory instead of a career I don’t think they are past that point yet where they are going on way longer then they should be, but this is that one last hurrah type fight, they’ve been good servants for British Boxing and despite their haters, deserve the pay day, maybe it will be a good fight to watch as well

Canelo/GGG and Floyd/Conor does well on any continent given the nature of those high profile encounters, but those numbers tend to cover the cracks with regards to US PPV in general.

US fighters go to the UK because thats where the money is. Outside of canelo.. tell me a US based fighter in any weight division that gets a higher purse than his UK compatriot. There isnt a single US card other than a canelo card that pays better than UK based fights. US boxing.. is a ****ing shambles Deontay gets a bigger check facing AJ at Wembley before 90K fans then in the US where even the PPV numbers have been hardly inspiring. On sky box office, AJ has been drawing 1+million buys consistently, the Wlad/AJ fight broke the all time record in the UK as well.

There is no rush with Benn, it makes no sense to throw him at the deep end right now, he didn’t have much of an amateur career either, he hasn’t been doing this as long as others. There was so much hype with Josh Kelly and he had more experience overall to / was an Olympian, the Avanesyan fight came too early even for him and we saw what happened. Guys like Broner, Maurice Hooker etc are much better opponents for Benn at this point as he works his way into the world level and also develop further.

Am backing Rigo, he has the defence to neutralise Loma's aggression although I understand that he will be handicapped by the size and physical gulf between the two but never count an Olympian out let alone one that has won 2 gold medals.

Im a huge fan of Team Fury, I think Peter Fury is a good man and a great trainer. IMO Tyson went off the rails when is dad was released from prison with the drinking and drugs. Peter Fury had him right but once Big John came home thats when things went wrong. The dad was vocal about Tyson not being invited to "TV Quiz shows" or celebrated in the UK and it was racism toward the travelers etc etc and Tyson bought into this and went full depression mode. Peter would of shielded him from that and kept him in the gym. It's an interesting theory and you could be right, big john may have negatively influenced him however I think Peter has kept check of him generally. Tyson on an individual level is bi-polar honestly, he has multiple personalities and paris would tell you that herself. He may not always believe everything that he says given that there has been an obsession with being controversial but the man is enigmatic, it can work in his favour to because when those mind games are being played there's no one better then Tyson Fury when it comes to manipulation, in his own words he's touched in the head, a mad scientist if you will, the type of guy everyone looks at and never takes seriously because he comes across as a bit of a nugget but is in fact a genius. Problem with such individuals is that they can experience periods of extreme highs and extreme lows, they desperately need direction and something to aim for or everything just falls apart and becomes disoriented. However, in recent times he has made some progress mentally which is a great sign and he has been looking himself. And like you say Peter especially will be key in taking it from here, I hope he can com back to his best because there's no one quiet like him in Boxing and the sport can be the best therapy for him if everything is done right

Khan hasn’t found in a long time and when he fought Crawford, he looked completely shot, yes big part of that was Crawford but Amir’s ability to measure distance wasn’t there, his balance/footwork was horrendous, he use to glide around the ring despite some obvious flaws (moving his back leg to the left when he moves in that direction) but these were compounded further due to his decline, he notoriously keeps his left very low when he throws the right hand and was over-reaching vs Crawford / lacked the speed he once had. Kell on the other hand measured distance much better against Crawford and actually managed to establish his Jab early in the fight and was landing it very easily, he was balanced and didn’t over-reach much, his rhythm was disturbed when Crawford turned southpaw, he found it difficult to land the jab and opened up more / was caught square and hurt with the first telling blow of the fight, Kell didn’t have ingle in his corner either. In their primes I may have looked at it a bit differently but it’s difficult to see Kell not have the edge in this one, his eye sockets will be suspect but I think he will be determined to press on and eventually get the KO due to his better ability to measure distance at this point, he’s the odds on favourite to win and get the KO, even if we’re assuming Khan will have a good game plan etc I think this fight will be too much emotion for him and the moment he gets hurt or finds himself in the storm, as history shows he will square up and look to have a tear up and don’t think that will help him.

I like the confidence but you’d have to favour Eubank if BJS was to walk straight into this fight, if he has a tune up in-between then things will get very interesting
