There is still a stalemate in the ongoing negotiations to finalize a unification fight between IBF, WBA, IBO heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua (20-0, 20 KOs) and WBO champion Joseph Parker (24-0, 18 KOs).
The two sides have been negotiating for several weeks, but they are now stuck at a 65-35 split in favor of Joshua. The British superstar is not satisfied with that amount and wants a bigger slice of the pie.
Joshua is starting to get annoyed with the trash talking antics from Parker and members of his team/
A few weeks ago, Parker and his promoter held a press conference in New Zealand to make their case that Joshua has a "glass chin" and presented a video package to back their case.
"I think it's not nice, I don't really respect it and I have no time for it," Joshua told the BBC.
"What's he trying? Be the big bully? Demonize everything I have done? In Formula 1, golf, tennis, rugby, they are very classy people, respectable about their peers. Then you have people like Joseph Parker holding a press conference talking about everything he thinks I am."
Joshua believes the fight will happen when Parker lowers his demand of 35%. Initially, the talks started at 50-50 and then at 60-40 in favor of Joshua and now stands at 65-35 - with Parker's handlers refusing to go any lower.
"It would have been great to have it pencilled in now but it will happen in the future once they come to their senses," Joshua said on the BBC.
"What they are offering is nothing, and what we are offering is 10 times better than what they can bring up themselves."
Joshua was in action in late October, when he stopped mandatory challenger Carlos Takam in the tenth round in Cardiff, Wales. And in September, Parker traveled over to Manchester to pick up a twelve round decision win over mandatory contender Hughie Fury.
