If I was Castillo I would be insulted if someone compared me to Margarito. Margarito aint no Castillo and thats fact. Castillo does everything better than Margarito and is more Technically sound. Also Castillo is proven in the ring against A level fighters. Marg has fought nobodies and prospects. 147lb Version of Castillo my ass. Margs slow hand speed, wide punches and lack of defense is going to reduce him to a punchers chance in this fight.
Then I guess it is really a good thing that you are not Castillo...
bernard hopkins was a light heavyweight starving himself to make middleweight.
shane mosley was a jr. welterweight starving himself to make lightweight
james toney was a middlweight.....ah, nevermind
the list goes on, since you attack margarito who is confortable at welterweight, why not attack floyd who could have moved up in weight a long time ago....
their was even a time where floyd said, after his fight with rios, that he will make 25 jr. lightweight title defencs, LOL, what happened floyd, couldn't keep starving yourself to make weight, LOL
I don't mean to get in the middle of this but I just wanted to clarify something. Hopkins has not been starving himself to make middle. Actually, he came into the DHL fight weighing 155 or 156. A man starving himself to make the weight would never be able to go that low. It is not uncommon for Hops to come in 1 or 2 pounds under 160. At the time of his prime, Mosely was not really starving himself either as it is common knowledge that he would confortably make 135. He bulked up to 147 nicely, but he was a very solid, but confortable 135-pound fighter. James Toney; that's another story... ;)
Oh... Also, on "The Scene" audio show, we've been saying that Margarito does have the style to beat Mayweather. He is an 147-pound version of Jose Luis Castillo and Floyd definately does not want any part of that monster again.
Ray Robinson by far the best welterweight ever... It's easy to say someone like Tito or DLH because that's who we grew up watching, but the title of "Best Welterweight" ever definately belongs to Sugar Ray Robinson.
I saw him at Wild Card, he looked real good workin out. Wish Escobedo the best, he is an Olympic buddy of my boy Vanes Martirosyan who has been trained by Freddie from day 1 as a pro.
These young guys can really learn alot from Roach.
I do think it will be a good thing for him. The problem is not Chente, but the people around him. Chente has a ton of talent and was capabily trained by Clemente Medina. I hope Roach can bring him back to the basics cuz his last trainer was really not much at all. He should have stayed with Medina. The Trainer after Medina just had nothing to offer.
This guy is one of my favorite prospects. He was very active fighting every month or two, but he has been inactive for 4 months now....Did he get hurt?
Abner's people have being moving him around from trainer-to-trainer and I'm not sure that is going to be good for his career. In the past 6 months, Mares has gone through 3-to-4 trainers. That is the kind of thing that can really ruin a young prospect. His father is behind it so you just never know.
OMG! Another "too early" fight of the year thread! :D
Guy, it's for the fight that has been the best for the first part of this year. You don't have to answer, but you don't have to attempt to trash the thread either.
Good idea...I think Arnaotis might beat Harris
I agree... We still don't know too much about Mike's chin, but if he can take a punch, I think he will easily wins the Harris fight. He does have solid boxing skills, and a ton of speed in his fists..
Unless posters have serious questions, don't post in this thread. Bullshit like this is the reason we refuse to hold chats on this site, and we have had the promoters of many fighters ask us to do chats, including with pacquiao, morales and barrera. We refuse.
Starting tomorrow, this part of the forum is getting a major cleanup. We are running down the list and instead of banning users totally off the forum, they will get banned from the NSB portion of the forum.
Big Poppa Pump... Thank you very much... I could not have said it any better myself. We simply try to get all of you the best boxers in the world to come here an answer your serious inquiries, but with this kind of response, it is hard to solidify what we are trying to do.
Thank you very much to all who participated. The interview with Arnaoutis is going to happen today and a winner will be announced with "The Scene" comes out so make sure you check it out. All of you did a great job with these questions. Thanks again for the support.
Sergio and Jim
The Scene Audio Show
His sexuality has nothing to do with him being a good boxer. It looks like he is gay based on those pics but once again this really has nothing to do with his boxing abilities and should be left in private.
Nice attempted at being funny... But no
I have a good question. Why did he puss out of a rematch against Pacquiao? Is it because he knows he was lucky to get a draw? I'd also like to let him know that I laugh at him at least once a day for losing to Chris John for like a tenth (or worse, I don't really know) of the money he would have made in a rematch with Pacquiao.
No need to be disrespectful. Lets keep the questions respectful. Words like "puss" are not needed in the question.
Ok fans... Thank you very much for all of your suppport. Several questions will be chosen from here and the interview will happen later this week. Prizes will be awarded. Thank you very much for your continued support.
Sergio
Sorry, I was out of line. Why did he chicken out of a rematch with Pacquiao?
You mean why did you not take the re-match against Pacquiao? I know that's what you meant to write. :)
Kayo,Iwatchboxing and Me got are questions answered.
Mike said he'll ko Vivian Harris and will beat Malignaggi with both eyes shut.
He was a great interview and all of you did a great job with those questions. All of the questions were great. Congrats to Kayo on winning the gloves.
Sergio
i hated lewis as a fighter but he know his stuff .... who is fran charles
Fran Charles was the guy for HBO's KO Nation stint. He is a very solid guy and knows his stuff. Has a very direct delivery and really provides solid talking points for others to follow. Should be a very solid team.
enadeus, mexigaf and arealfighters names were mentioned..but who won??? freakin interviewer was so jmm biased i thought he was jmms uncle or sumthin :D jmm should won against pac easily
What part of the interview was bias? We asked questions that came directly from the forum (aka: you guys)... Never said anything about easily beating pac-man... guess you heard what you wanted
yeah it was a good show it was great to hear ICE. Gent had some good points all and all BS is doing a great job with this
It's great to know that you enjoyed the show and we will keep working on it to make it better. It is only the sixth show and we are always looking to improve.
I agree with you and I hope he fights, but everyone is definately after his hide... One big win on the world stage should get him right back on track...
