I'm completely sober now but I haven't been able to force myself to watch that crapfest again to see if my judgment was correct. Ironically, I'd probably need to get drunk enough to impair my judgment to ever watch it through again.
No. Ortiz did nothing for 5 rounds, and I had him losing 2 close rounds. 7-3 rounds for Peterson minus 2 points for a 10-7 rounds equates to a 95-93 win for Peterson.
I have the name of a good ophthalmologist for you.
Meh, I have decent eyesight and watched it in HD on my big screen. I could see it fine, and so could the ringside judges.
How dare you not agree with me when I am drunk and belligerent.
Ortiz did nothing for about 5 rounds of the fight. Absolutely nothing. Just because Harold Lederman giftwraps empty rounds for a fighter doesn't mean he actually won them.
Even if he did lose five rounds, it's a ten-rounder with a 10/7 round for him...Does that sound right to you?
i was like "wtf!??"
doesnt he want a fan base to address?? shows how much he cares about them
No, it shows he had a hard night and was disappointed and upset and exhausted. It didn't show anything about his relationship with fans.
Pacquiao might be a POUND FOR POUND harder puncher, but comparing straight up Mosley is a much harder hitter.
I very much agree with this. I think Mosley hits like a truck and if he weren't so impatient, we'd see a lot more demonstrations from him of one-punch knockout power.
I think Clottey needs to fight at 154 and Berto needs to stay at 147. ...Also, it might be an atrocious fight to watch. I think Clottey would probably win.
Clottey could make Trinidad look like crap for a lot of the beginning but he'd end up getting pounded on and outpointed---potentially stopped, although the guy's got an iron skull, Felix hit like a truck.
hahaha. thread is dead, no responses. His eyes....are.....alien like LOL
No, see:

He's an incredible specimen of handsomeness, man. ...Still,...no homo.
Please, everybody thinks Juanma is overrated over stupid pot shots, he won almost every round against a Mexican legend, you just typical hater, when somebody talks about a fighter you like, you get offended but agree with lots of stupid shiit when somebody says something esle. I've heard many stupid comments, just when I call out a Mexican everybody gets butt hurt about it. All Puerto Ricans quit on their knees, bet you never said to anybody that was a stupid comment, and would talk boxing with them all day long.
...I didn't say anything about Juanma to you, did I?
There will be a bit of a void for generally accepted "great" fighters after Pacquiao and Mayweather that above average fighters like Andre Ward and Juanma Lopez will have a hard time to fill until Abner Mares, Frankie Gomez, Jose Benavidez Jr and quite a few most of us probably haven't even heard of yet will take over.
There's something about Amir Khan that makes me think he could be P4P#1, but of course he has to overcome a few tests before that (his chin vs Maidana, then Ortiz and Bradley).
Ortiz has gifts...but I really think he'll prove to be a sporadic whack job. Just a suspicion. I think he'll be that guy that keeps coming back after puzzling losses and you never know what the hell he's going to do or when he'll keep it all together and perform like a true elite.
Ortiz is hype man, along with Alfredo Angulo. And Margarito. And Rios. And The Ghost Guerrerro.
Ortiz was definitely hyped, but not hyped for no reason for sure. Talented kid with excellent power. Loopy though. BUT these other two guys you mention in particular...Guerrero is a three-time two-division world champion, Margarito has had three major world titles and been champion for the better part of an entire decade, with wins over Clottey, Cotto, Cintron twice and the current middleweight champion of the world, Sergio Martinez. ...What? If anything Margarito got zero hype until stopping Cotto when he was the underdog and Cotto was the TV darling....What? Angulo hasn't even challenged for a world title yet but he recently obliterated a former world champion and took another hot prospect's 0. Rios I oouldn't give a **** about. Anyway, whatever.
I think Juanma is very good, but not sure yet if he will be great...
Yuirorkis, IMO is not the real deal and will not be great.
Martinez I think is very good, but he will need some big wins to be "great" and he is already getting fairly old...
There is a serious lack of greatness in boxing today...I like Amir Khan as I think he has the skills to be a great but he has a lot more winning to do before we can call him great.
Many of these guys who are ranked highly I do not believe to be the real deal... They are mostly hype jobs with good promoters. I am not a fan of Andre Berto, Tim bradley, or Yuriorkis Gamboa. A good fighter can easily expose these guys and their lack of skill and ability to "wow" fans, combined with the fact that they are the only fighters that we are able to see because they're mainstream and forced down our throats, is what is killing boxing....
There is one electrifying man in boxing and that is Pac (at lower weights he is electrifying), and then we have Floyd, who everybody just wants to see him lose so he will always bring excitement.
I don't really agree about Bradley, but I do agree pretty strongly about Berto. It's very FUBAR'd when the division with pacquiao and Mayweather also has Berto as an undefeated WBC champion for two years. It's a fuggin' mess, really.
Hold on a second, we're talking about how sexy Maidana is. We'll get to Carlos in a few minutes. Anyway, have you noticed how penetrating his eyes are? No homo.
Margarito before Cotto, was the most feared man in the world, how could you foget that? Cintron is an ESPN fighter, and Clottey was robbed against Margarito. He only defeated Cotto.
Angulo was schooled by Cintron LOL the dog is a lil cat.
Sorry, only remenber Guerrerro quiting LOL but I could be wrong like this guy is wrong about Juanma. Who is P4P top ten Ring Magazine, Guerrerro is not.
triangle theories lol
With Ortiz, I just remenber he quit too LOL sorry, Iam being hard on them, I think their nuthing, honestly.
I take it you're the type to grade Duran's entire career off of that one night he walked away from Leonard then...? "LOL" Seriously, your logic is such that I would feel more comfortable talking about Maidana's freaky sexiness with you again, honestly.
Marquez has lost two of his last five...including two guys that would completely outclass Katsidis...one of whom many thought he actually beat. So, great points. I'm glad you brought them up. Two of his last five were also two knockout wins over guys that beat Katsidis. So, anyway, good thread.
You gonna have to stop every 15 secs to sort out stupid and logical comments on a boxing forum LOL
I used him an example, you claim I'd base everything on one night, theres many people who do that here right under your nose, so talk boxing with me LOL
Margarito is a fraud and cheater why you will still root for him, is beyound me, anyway LOL
Who said that I root for him? I know it wasn't me.
AFTER you missed that word.
Im saying he was right to not fight Bradley yet. Legacy wise, a Bradley win next year is better than a bradley win this year, especially if Bradley beats Khan and alexander.
So, the thread is whether it WOULD'VE been better for his legacy to fight Margarito, Berto or Bradley. Are you saying the current Bradley would've been better or only the future Bradley, if all goes well with him? Because the thread is definitely about during the November 13th 2010 date, which one would be better of the three fighters I mentioned, legacy-wise.
Margarito is way in the lead with, I'm going to say Valuev being the GOAT in second, even though it's "technically" a three-way tie for second. Because sugar sweetness is the tie-breaker here.
Gotcha, well then, the Punisher could have made 147 for Saturday, his scalp would have been a major credit to Pacman!!
Then fight Martinez seven days later as scheduled? Yeah, that's likely. ...And completely irrelevant to my friggin' poll, man!
Assuming Pacquiao can beat Bradley, then its definitely Bradley. The guy is in his prime, undefeated & way better than a Margarito (without plaster)..
Do you have any evidence at all that would cause you to believe you've ever seen a Margarito WITH plaster?
It's the truth,or am I lying??
You're intentionally being a dense, disagreeable asshat, actually. :boxing: How can a big PW fan be talking this ****? Sergio at a catchweight AFTER he with his size advantages already brought Sergio up to fight him at 160 earlier for a fight he won. Even Pac never pulled anything like that. And of course Sergio, already knocked out by Margarito is fun. Also two of Paul's top wins are over a past it Winky Wright and a past it Verno Phillips. See? We can do that to anybody's record. Hey, this asshat thing is fun!
the bradley fight is more meaningful after he takes care of business at 140. if he had fought him instead of marg it wouldve been too early.
assuming bradley beats alexander, then pac's training partner khan, then we have a proper meaningful fight between the 2 by the end of 2011
...So, for a fight in November of this year, it would've been too early, yet MORE meaningful to Pac's legacy? :wtf1:
I noticed that all Ur options were of welterweights & below!!If Ur trying to make a case for Pacman fighting Margarito u've already fvcked up!!This fight was supposed to be for a 154lb title!!Margarito is not,was not & will never be a top 154lb fighter!!The greatest fighters of this generation are 2 superstars who dictate who, when & if they fight the best!!I'll repeat(Margarito was not,is not & will never be the best fighter at 154)!!
The poll has nothing to do with Margo's standing at 154. It's got nothing to do with anything but which scalp would've been better for his legacy, not titles. So, no mistake at all. Reread. My options were also not all for welterweight and below. They were for Margo at the fought at 150-pound catchweight, Bradley at either 140 or 147 and Berto at 147. I don't know how much plainer it can be.
