Just saw on BoxRec that his fight with Kamegai is for the vacant WBO title... what? He last fought in 2015 - and is fighting Kamegai whos best career performance is a draw and a win against a shot to **** Jesus Soto Karass. First of, let me just say I have been one of his biggest fans up until after the Mayweather fight. He has now lost me because of his diva behavior (leaving interviews in fights he clearly lost like the Trout, Mayweather and Alvarez fights..) Every title he ever won has been vacant, except the Martinez fight and we all know that story. His best title wins are a crippled Martinez back in 2014, 3 years ago, Shane Mosley - 10 years ago which is probably his best win to date. I mean, does anyone even rate this guy anymore? It's hard to be a boxing fan, so many other fighters deserve to get a shot at the title but Cotto is handed shot after shot just because of his name.

With Vasyl Lomachenko being the fastest to win a world title in two different weight classes I wondered how his competition compared to other great fighters. So I added up some olympic champions, great amateurs and also some popular fighters record for their first 7 fights. I know not every fighter started out the same way, like some mexicans turn pro at a very young age. This is just for fun, although I have to admit I'm very impressed with what Lomachenko has done up until this point in his career. These were the fighters I was wondering about, feel free to add yours. Also, I know this doesn't mean anything, again just for fun. PS: there may be some errors, I did the math quickly in my head. Last night was god awful, literally one of the worst fights I have ever seen. His opponent had a record of 28-3-1, two fights before he got knocked out in 2 minutes at a weightclass below. Rigondeaux is complaining he never gets any recognition, and people want him in their top 10 or even 5 P4P. This was a guy he should destroy. I'm not saying he should knock the guy out every time to be popular. But he should win in spectacular fashion, showing his brilliant skills and being explosive. He even got tagged pretty hard a few times by right hands. Last night he was on a PPV card of one of the biggest fights in recent time and had a huge audience watching him. This was his chance to shine and get new fans and by getting more fans getting more money which he thinks he deserves. He failed on every account proving he only cares about himself, has no ability to change it up, has no desire to please the fans and be exciting. If I never see him fight again I would be OK with that. There is no doubt he is supremely skilled but he doesn't really use it as much as he should. You could argue it was ring rust, but IMHO i don't think it was, he had a lot of opportunities but he never took them. Where do you rank him P4P after last night? IMO, honestly he is HIGHLY SKILLED, but he is not in my top 10 anymore. No risk, no reward.

I was looking at Wladimir Klitschko's resume and noticed he has taken a lot of 0's, yes you can argue not all of the fighters have been great but still it looks great on a resume to have taken a lot of 0's. So I started thinking, what other fighters have taken many, I know for example Floyd Mayweather Jr. has taken surprisingly few. What fighters has taken the most? Lets say all 0's over 15-0. I don't know much about the guy and has only seen one fight of him. I'm not saying he is bad or anything I am just wondering why everyone seems to be so big on him? he has had 9 fights and is considered one of the best? How come he went almost past being a prospect straight into being a world champ? What's his deal I've been wondering this for a while.. thanks

I know Martinez adjusted and won the fight fairly. (and rightfully) but we can't ignore the fact that Matthew Macklin had way more sucsess than he should have had and was expected to have. Martinez missed a LOT more than he use to and he wasn't dominant until after the KD. I think that both Pac and Floyd are too fast and skillful. I mean if Macklin could box him, Pac and Floyd would do ten times better. Even though I hate to admit it I think Floyd would do better against Martinez than Pacquiao but that both would beat him convincingly. Thoughts?

All in all, do you think this has been a good year for and of boxing? Personally I am deeply dissapointed with all the **** going on in the sport today. Not saying good things hasn't happened. Since Wladimir's fluke loss to Lamon Brewster back in 2004 his resume is quite amazing. since 04 he has fought opponents with a combined record of: 404-22-9(!!) - David Haye - Samuel Peter - Chris Byrd - Ruslan Chagaev - Sultan Ibragimov Almost even more amazing is Vitali's opponents combined record since his comeback against Samuel Peter in 2008: 236-9-3 (!!) Including: - Samuel Peter - Chris Arreola - Odlanier Solis And it is not as if they have kept on fighting bums, and by that i mean they have fought the best opponents avalible. The point of this post was just to point out how dominant the Klitschkos are and that people should appreciate them a little bit more than they do now. That being said, its good to see that both Klitschkos are at least given credit for their skills and accomplishments even by their haters

I just noticed something, do you even realize that Mosley hasn't knocked anybody out in 4 rounds or less since september 1997, with the exception of two guys in the 3rd. that is 14 years ago. so, in his last 32 fights he has had: two KOs in round 3 (at 147) one KO in round 4 (at 135) in 1997 two KOs in round 5 (at 135) in 1998 Is this the guy who has a great chance in the early rounds..?

I've always been a big Mosley fan, but recently I've been thinking more and more about it. Mosley is relying too much on his power. everyone see Mosley as this incredible hard puncher. And I did too. (not saying he doesn't hit hard, just hear me out) The last time Mosley knocked someone out within 3 rounds was all the way back in 2001. against 30-3-2 Adrian Stone. (KO3). After that Mosley has had 16 fights. with a record of: 8W 6L 1D.. With 4 KOs. (1 NC) So what do you think about this? I'd say Mosley has just as little chance in the early rounds as he has in the late rounds. he hasnt knocked out someone in 3 rounds in 10 years.... Can someone please explain this to me? Mayweather beats up his wife (or whatever). he is now having legal issues because of that. That much I understand. what i don't understand is why his loyal fans keep protecting and defending his every move? do you actually think that it is ok for your favorite fighter to fight once every year? wouldn't you want to see him fight more often? and, is he supposed to be "rewarded" by not having to fight Pacquiao just because he beats his wife? NO. now he should fight Pacquiao. That does not mean Floyd is better than Pac. its all about styles, Mosley is an extremely hard puncher, Pac takes a lot of punches. Against Mosley, Floyds style is more efficient. while against others Pacs is more efficient. if Mosley lands a big punch on Pac it could be good night. stop pretending he doesnt have a chance. is it just me or is Roach downplaying all of Pacquiaos wins? I mean, sure, much of what he says is true, bu shouldnt he be trying to hype Pacquiao and make people believe he is invinsible? Oscar was dehydrated. Hatton was never that good. Neither was Cotto. I cant recall if he said anything about Clottey. and now he says Margarito sukks. am i the only one finding this very strange? this has been bugging me alot lately, and i am getting real tired of it. why do the biggest names or prime athletes that can really do something wait so friggin long between fights? either it is a veteran that still has it or a new up and comer or simply someone who is still proving himself. i think a lot of these guys are wasting valuable time... i have a few examples: Mosley: not since January 09. (not counting May1) Marquez: not since September 09. (wont fight til July) Bradley: not since December 09, (wont fight til July) Mayweather: not since September 09. (not counting September) Dawson: not since November 09 (wont fight til August.) Hopkins: i know he is old, but one fight in 09? against a nobody?) there are probably A LOT more. more acceptable, but not quite good enough you have the likes of Amir Kahn and Paul Williams that both fought in December and are scheduled to fight in May. but i still think this is too much time between. one should think they would try to fight as often as they could while they still "got it". the scary thing is that 40 year old guys are more active: Vitali Klitschko: fought 3 times in 09 Roy Jones Jr: fought 3 times in 09 so what do you think? can you tell me why it is this way? back in the day it wasnt unusual to have close to 100 fights. now people retire with 35-45 fights. do you agree with me?

I just finished watching Adamek vs Arreola, and there is no way in hell Arreola managed to get a MD, he only won three rounds on my scorecard, and that was the first, sixth and 10th.. in other words i had Adamek winning 117-111. an no, i am not a biased Euro-guy rooting for Adamek only because he is european. he outlanded Arreola in every round. (except one i think) so my point is, for a judge to have this 114-114 is outrageous..

OK, so me and my friend is in this big argument about what is better, boxing or UFC/MMA. of course im picking boxing. my problem is that i dont have too much knowledge about MMA than what ive read here from you guys. so what i want this thread to be all about is all the arguments for or against whatever you likes best. First off, John Ruiz. JOHN RUIZ shows us what he is made of and is actually in an exciting fight! he is not clinching or fouling despite being in there with one of his best opponents in years! Then David Haye, IMO proves himself at HW. now i even like him a bit. before i used to hate him for not fighting the Klitschkos, now i have forgiven him for some reason. So, not surprisingly i felt it could be a good night. I was thinking: "hey, if John Ruiz can be in an exciting fight then RJJ and B-Hop has to be something too" especially since Roy seemed so fired up, i actually got some last minute excitement for this fight. so it begins, and my first thought was damn! why arent Roy doing ANYTHING? he was so fired up and ready to go at the weigh in, i expected him to go out there with combinations (the way imo to beat Hopkins) but no, I screamed at him and was totally pissed. Then after a few rounds i realized how dirty Hopkins was actually fighting, yes, Roy didnt exactly press the action himself but common! Hopkins stunk that whole fight out with his acting and fouling. and this whole passing out in the dressing room is probably to make it more believeable. I was more impressed with RJJ against Danny Green and Glen Johnson then i was yesterday! And Hopkins, man. i hadnt seen to much Hopkins until last night, and I see people saying that is how he always fights. WHAT A BOREFEST! i never want to see a Hopkins fight again! I stayed up until 7 in the morning to watch that sh*t. id rather have my beauty sleep than seeing that cr*p!
