Agreed but i was very surpised to see no medical attention right away, poor guy was shaking uncontrollably in the corner as soon as the fight ended and he still walked to the dressing room leaning on his team
this was the undercard to a inoue fight very very surprised to see an event in japan miss something as important as this
As bad as the UK is for cheating visiting fighters, I think their medical care is the best. If that was in UK the paramedics would have been in like a shot as soon as they saw his legs going. He would have been given oxygen straight away and probably taken on a stretcher. May not have made a difference, but what we saw was very poor.
This is a ridiculously difficult task for Cruz. Fundora's physical advantages are bad enough, but she's bloody good as well. I'm wondering if she will stay at flyweight long enough to make a challenge to Seniesa. Nobody else in those weights would even given Seniesa a fight.
Joe Ward looked fantastic in the amateurs. I thought he was going to be a big star as a pro, but his career has stuttered and nearly come to a full stop. Shame.
I got told to "study the sport" on Twitter because I said that George wouldn't lay a glove on Loma. Absolutely made for him. Not sure it's a stoppage though.
I fell in love with boxing knowing that a fighter could overcome great troubles no matter where they’re from in life, they’re talent could help them fight they’re way to a brighter future. Fight to feed families put a roof over their heads etc.
Nothing disheartens me more than seeing fighters win a fight but be told they’re a loser. The only sport in the world a winner isn’t always rewarded as the winner. Take a moment to consider that, it’s absurd. I understand about objective judging etc, but at the end of the day, a judge should be educated enough to understand what they’re seeing regardless of preference. Scoring criteria should be pretty simple to follow.
it’s a sad shame that this great sport is consistently marred with questionable results.
imagine watching the super bowl, champions league final or World Cup final, watch one team score 3 goals to nothing yet be told they lost. It’s preposterous.
Seen this happen too many times not to realise that judges are corrupt. Once again, Jonas is a big draw for Boxxer, a loss would affect that, judges therefore support the promoter's fighter, so that they get plenty of future gigs and ... benefits.
I think Bivol wins a UD here against Beneviedez. Bivol is more comfortable at 175 and Bene looks like he was gassing late and looked out of shape. Bene looks way better, more active and much sharper at 168.
Benavidez knows he can't beat the two Russians - he found out on Saturday he isn't big and powerful enough to bully either of them. That's why he said straight away he's going back down to 168.
Yeah, rematch clauses are a stain. Just cowardly, like they need their safety blanket to make the opponent have to beat them twice. And then they don't rematch when it's really merited.
Jonas has moaned for the last few years about Harper not giving her a rematch. Will look really bad on her if she does the same to Mayer.
Loma's my favourite fighter but I want him to steer well clear of Tank. Gervonta finally won me over on Saturday, I don't see anyone beating him at 135 for a long time.
Smith's reputation probably exceeds what he's achieved in the sport. His best win by a mile was George Groves. Was anybody else he beat even in a Ring/TBRB Top 10 at the time?
Yes - agreed. If he managed to beat Yarde it would be one of his best two wins. I think he'll retire, but he might just take this fight, considering the massive purse that will be on offer in Saudi.
